So far my wishlist is a world tour Neverfull, now I want a custom Le Pliage to match my Longchamp suitcase.

I think I’m going to stay on the custom route, going custom requires a lot of thought before making a purchase.

Anyone have any wishlist items they want to share?

I like your reason about going custom route, considering your purchasing behavior.

I don’t think I have anything at the moment that reach the point of wish list or should buy next.

I like the Chanel vanity bag since it first came out. I used to have a PVC bag with outside aluminum structure that look exactly that same shape when I was young and I love that bag. I used it until the PVC part died on me. I guess that’s why I’m attracted to this bag. But it’s not at the level that I should check it out, try it on, and consider buying one.

And I like this bag from a local designer.

I tried it on at their store already, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I feel like I buy too much over my quota with MM before I went to their shop so I’m thinking hard. And I’m not sure it can fits all my crap. My daily stuff, no problem. But some other crap? Not so sure. And I tend to carry a lot this time of the year due to meetings so any bags that can hold a folder is a plus and I’m happy with my MM Juliet so... but it’s from a local brand. I may get it one day within this year.

I’m curious about LC Madeline. I may check it out. I actually first like the Mademoiselle, but I felt underwhelmed when I check it out. Maybe coz o already have too many flaps. But this one is growing on me.

And there’s another canvas tote from a local very small brand. The owner just release a new size and shape with lighter weight. The price is nice, too, consider their good quality. But since I already bought too much, this will have to wait. I may or may not even get it.

These are bags on my radar now.

I despise this strategy.

Because the models don’t get to iconic status, (except for the LD and maaaaaaaybe the Diorama some day) resell for Dior bags is awful. But, that could be ok for me because I love the ones I have so much I’ll use and keep them.

The real issue is exactly what you said, I need time to think about a bag. I am not going to run out and buy anything as soon as it’s released. And I’m growing weary of preloved items. So it makes it hard to swoop in and grab a Dior.

But? Honestly? I hate the current designers changes to the bags. They have lost a bit of the feminine aesthetic in favor of a grittier vibe. I love rocker chic but, IMHO, it doesn’t work at all on Dior.
No black. You have black bags. Get something fun!

You prefer the former designer, Raf Simon, just like me. But I can see why other Dior fans love this current one. She has the same flair like Galliano’s, IMHO.

Hermès has made a fortune using the “once it’s gone, it’s gone” strategy. Many of the bags are considered classic, but the most coveted bags are coveted because they are rare, and so many colors are seasonal, it creates a “don’t think, just get it now while you can” mentality. The same goes for the scarves: If you want this design, in this colorway, you better get it now or either never see it again or pay insane reseller prices.

I’m not sure this will work long term for Valentino or any other designer, but it’s a strategy that Hermes has absolutely perfected.

I love a lot of what Hermes makes, but I am glad I’ve taken a step back from the brand right now.

But Hermes only did that with colors, I believe. (?) The bag itself stays. Same with Bal. But Dior, some seasons, will release lots of designs and discontinues the design and the bag itself, too, just after that season. And Hermes has been doing it long enough for the design to sink in and therefore, the fans know. I think Dior try to copy the strategy from Chanel. Only LD stays. Just like CF and reissue. But their designs can be very wacky and one or two step behind other brands. I’m not saying Karl is a better designer, but some of his seasonal pieces are practical and wearable and sometimes, they build on that and carryon or another season. And their pricing strategy is extremely clever. Most of Dior designs are quite niche to me. And when they release something that’s wearable and practical, they’re asking for arms and a leg. Then, discontinued it too soon. I paid for my old model Miss Dior full price from the boutique at about the same as lady Dior. They said this will become their own classic flap. I like the design although the chain isn’t as versatile as Chanel’s. You have to choose the length you want before commit since it’s fixed. They only offer short or long. Then, after a couple of years, or seasons? They changed the design. I don’t like this new design at all. Spark loves it though. The whole aesthetics are totally different. Then, after a couple seasons, discontinued that, too. Then, they release Diorrama, which as much as I like Dior, is quite a copy or inspired by Chanel’s Boy bag. It’s a mess for me. I really wish them to keep Diorrissimo and Dune. These two are practical and has potential. But never get marketed enough and they keep changing the sizes for Diorrissimo and charging as much as for LD. The Dune only has its spot on a runway and then on shop floor for one season with an ombré colors only. No solid or practical colors offered. And the wacky ones rule them all. I’m pretty sad for them. Maybe coz these are the ones I like. [emoji20][emoji20][emoji20]

I agree with you on custom. It requires more time to decide, and also there’s a waiting period while the item gets made, so you can’t have an immediate gratification mentality going in. I have a couple of custom le Pliages, and the quality feels better on them than the ones I bought in the store.

Re. wishlist, well, with all this Dior talk, I walked into my local boutique yesterday. In over 10 years of living here, I don’t think I’ve ever been in. Not sure why, probably I was simply preoccupied with other brands. OMG. What a stunning product. I thought I’d look at the Diorama, but ended up smitten with the all black Lady Dior. I never wanted a LD, finding it pretty but too sweet and ladylike, but this version, with black hardware and studs, is right up my alley. I have to say, I am totally taken by this bag. Gotta seriously water and fertilize my money tree.

Anyone here have a Lady Dior? How has it held up?

I have. Mine hold up very well. Their quality is top notch. You won’t be disappointed. And they have great service, too, even in boutique and after sales.

Happy birthday msd! What a lovely recognition from your coworkers!

A bag of mine sold at the consignment shop today. I even stopped in to drop something off and saw it today. Must have gone after I left. I was just complaining on another thread about nothing moving.
Congratulations on your sale, that’s awesome!
