At the moment I am using a inexpensive Kate Spade one . I have a Franklin Covey one for all my lists and on going projects. Debating about get a Filofax one but not sure if the metal rings would bug me if I use it on a daily basis. Also can filo paper be easily erased as things change rapidly around here.
Filofax paper allows wet inks to bleed through; so I get (jetpens.com) Davinci refills made by Tomoe River. This paper is super thin and smooth and inks don't bleed through, though you can see some shadowing of dark inks on the other side.

Getting back to handbags. What is everyone’s favorite new trend(s) in bags?

I’ve been a huge lover of quilting and chain straps. (obviously, lol!) But, I’m thinking I want to try something different. What’s new, fun and beautiful? What’s catching your eye?

I'm seeing new and small brands going for an understated , min-hw, luxe-leather in wearable colours. Most premier designers are obsessed with 'yoof' so... lots of unicorns, rainbows and LOGOS. I can't advise you but perhaps it's a good time to go pre-loved or vintage, H Bolide 31 or Kelly 28/32? Seeing some not to bad prices at the moment.

Inside info so keep under your hats: Burberry is going 'fur free' soon (YAWN) and developing a more cartoony-type line for accessories (ZZZZzzzzzzzz......,,,,,,) . Otherwise they're going back to basics (Trenches, scarves). NEXT! Not that many of us here are interested in Burberry but that's basically where all the effort is going. Trying to Go-Gucci....while Gucci is trying to be bloody Apple, 3D printing technology (don't ask, don't care) Equilibrium (sending their workforce to 'volunteer' on charitable projects, tracing sources of raw products - which is good, lots of 'caring' talk etc). How they can say this crap when most of the workforce is overworked and unhappy and they avoid paying tax in Italy is beyond me.

On the handbag front, Mom bought me a bag! Well, not sure if the second is considered a bag or SLG.

One is the turnlock pouch in Cloud and the penny in navy.

The penny makes a perfect SLG for my battery pack. I plan to modify the strap to become removable.

The turnlock pouch I’ll ask my boutique to add tea roses too.

I’m beginning to wonder if those near me are noticing I’m not buying as many bags now. So I get gifts lol.
Love both of these! The little Penny is adorable!

I am trying to shop my closet. I really am. I have a major hankering for a loup noir canvas leather trim shopper because they are pretty but I'm taking a fierce attitude to try to love my le pliages. I took the pink one to get attachments for adding a cute long strap I have that will look great with it and carrying my purple one now with pretty long strap added, bag shaper in it so it's not hard to find stuff in bottom corners, and trying to figure out the opening so it feels as "easy" as I prefer. The zipper plus flap is not my favorite configuration. Leaving zipper open and just using the flap seems to be the only option. Let's see if I can find this bag to be the lightweight "carry all" I crave. Or the pink one or both!

Then the Polene numero in in the tan/beige tricolour. I really want it. But I'm telling myself that my fendi Mia degrade shopper is also in the same 3 color leathers and also isn't heavy, I weighed it. It's so big but part of it is the lack of structured when I don't have much in it and the bag shaper helps a ton to square it out so it doesn't look giant from the front. And the sides are getting attached at the cobbler's now to cinch in the side like a gusset pleat so the opening won't gape open so wide at the top and it will shrink the visual footprint as well, without restricting access or capacity. Also adding small attachments to the sides so I can use a long strap for crossbody and shoulder carry that's more comfortable than those chain handles.

It takes a lot of musing to figure out why a bag isn't quite what you want and figure out if any hacks at the cobblers and additional straps could help. But I hope this solves my cravings for the tricolour tan beige Polene numero in by making the fendi a more compact and easy to carry bag that works better for me. Lord knows the bubbled lamb on this bag is lightyears nicer to the touch than the Polene and I actually like the look better. But the size has been hard for me.

Thanks for listening!

That's the ultimate in sustainability, stick with but tailor what you've got.. Liking Polene too of course but since you actually have Fendi, you are doing the right thing. I hope it works out for you

Thank you! I am not above taking scissors or paint to a bag or having it altered at the cobblers to get it to where I love it.

Coach Parker is a keeper! On Saturday, I took it to run some errands with a non-print outfit and in the evening went to the open air concert with a print top. Feeling, comfort and usability were great! And no worries about spilled drinks etc. ... Interestingly, however, when I opened the bag to get a tissue, DBF‘s friend looked right inside my bag! Really curious, this one. Not the Parker‘s fault, but he could see everything [emoji1]

Nothing much?

I like medium sized bag. I now downsize myself from big to medium. I can do small on a good day, but prefer medium and if I could, small-mrdium since it'll easier on my shoulders.

I like the mismatch strap although I never try one yet, but it's a good sign of flexibility to me. Thinking about this, maybe I can use my Massaccesi strap with my Bal Cities so I don't have to worry about the strap. I have my Arctic Selene Midi done with customization strap, but never get to use it. I also just got a new strap comes with my Theia, which may happen because the miscommunication or what, who knows. But I definitely can switch straps around.

Backpack. Although I don't carry them much, it definitely means more options and I like that.

RFID offered in wallets. I hope one day the luxury brand will catch up on this, for now, the startup has this edge or else, I'll have to buy the blocker for every shot on the WOC.

Colorful bags and accessories including all the novelty clutch. I don't care for black bags. Never big on them. There were days when colors were rarely offered but black, brown, blue, and white. Even red was a god-send. I'm glad those days are gone and we have so many colors and fun things to play with.

These are all I can think of now.
I tried the strap trend. It just never worked for me. I like my bags as is and forget to swap them out. I think I would have used straps if I could have found cute, reasonably priced ones for my pink and red Prada double zips. But I couldn’t find any to coordinate in a style I liked and at a price I was willing to pay.

I love it when you provide us with fashion insight!

Like you, I’m not “feeling” the logos, patches, zany words, and sequined bengal tigers all over my bag. I’m actually in the opposite space. I want classic lines and I’m craving good chewy leather. Who knows what I’ll get next? Luckily, I’m getting back to being patient.
This looks great on you!!! Love it!!!

I’m looking back through old records to see what I paid for the bags I’m selling.

OMG! I am going to take a complete bath on two of these bags. I completely “mis-remembered” how much I paid for one of them and WOW!! That was a dumb bunny purchase price / decision. I can’t believe I paid that! :whut: The second is just a function of the brand that doesn’t hold its value. :crybaby:

Trying to remind myself that these are sunk costs and that any proceeds on a bag I don’t use / don’t want is a positive.

I’m deep breathing. :frown:

But, this will certainly make me even more vigilant about buying brands that (relatively speaking) hold their value and getting the bags at a good price.

Actually let me take a step back. This is making me even more vigilant about making sure I adore the bag so that I never want to sell. :oh: That’s the real solution.

With very few exceptions it's a buyer's market. It's such a learning curve and you have so much to be proud of

.
I think you could definitely do this.
Here is a canvas strap (from Mautto) on my Bal City bag. I'm very pleased with how it looks and feels. The original City strap was much too thin to be comfortable, and was also too short.
