I'm seeing new and small brands going for an understated , min-hw, luxe-leather in wearable colours. Most premier designers are obsessed with 'yoof' so... lots of unicorns, rainbows and LOGOS. I can't advise you but perhaps it's a good time to go pre-loved or vintage, H Bolide 31 or Kelly 28/32? Seeing some not to bad prices at the moment.
Inside info so keep under your hats: Burberry is going 'fur free' soon (YAWN) and developing a more cartoony-type line for accessories (ZZZZzzzzzzzz......,,,,,,) . Otherwise they're going back to basics (Trenches, scarves). NEXT! Not that many of us here are interested in Burberry but that's basically where all the effort is going. Trying to Go-Gucci....while Gucci is trying to be bloody Apple, 3D printing technology (don't ask, don't care) Equilibrium (sending their workforce to 'volunteer' on charitable projects, tracing sources of raw products - which is good, lots of 'caring' talk etc). How they can say this crap when most of the workforce is overworked and unhappy and they avoid paying tax in Italy is beyond me.
I do care about Burberry. But only for their scarf and coat. I just can’t with their bags. I tried to love them IRL, but they are too photogenic. [emoji28]
I really want to try Gucci, but always chicken out. Their vibe intimidate me. [emoji28] I feel like they’re so sexy, so grown up, so sophisticated in the way that I’ll never be. Like a sultry sexy woman in a satin wrap dress with long luscious curl locks lounging on her front while has her hands prop her head up tangle in her perfect locks at the sunset. Yeah... probably something from Tom Ford era ad print, but it stuck with me. Even the prints and graffiti they’re doing like bees and pineapples still look grown up to me. I feel like I’m not at that level yet. [emoji28]
And regarding Logo, I’m so disappointed with Dior and Balenciaga. I can understand the throw back to Galliano in recent Dior pieces (that’s my opinion which may be wrong), but I love Raf’s vision much more. Even the design team that come after him for a season or two are not bad at all. It’s sad to see their work discontinued so fast. But I guess that’s Dior for you everything is disposable. Nothing is a classic except lady Dior.
And Balenciaga is like a joke now. I can understand the sarcasm at the first couple season, but now it’s getting old and the joke seems to be back on them. I’m just sad coz I used to love their work so much, but now they’re putting Cities on sale. [emoji29]
