I do care about Burberry. But only for their scarf and coat. I just can’t with their bags. I tried to love them IRL, but they are too photogenic. [emoji28]

I really want to try Gucci, but always chicken out. Their vibe intimidate me. [emoji28] I feel like they’re so sexy, so grown up, so sophisticated in the way that I’ll never be. Like a sultry sexy woman in a satin wrap dress with long luscious curl locks lounging on her front while has her hands prop her head up tangle in her perfect locks at the sunset. Yeah... probably something from Tom Ford era ad print, but it stuck with me. Even the prints and graffiti they’re doing like bees and pineapples still look grown up to me. I feel like I’m not at that level yet. [emoji28]

And regarding Logo, I’m so disappointed with Dior and Balenciaga. I can understand the throw back to Galliano in recent Dior pieces (that’s my opinion which may be wrong), but I love Raf’s vision much more. Even the design team that come after him for a season or two are not bad at all. It’s sad to see their work discontinued so fast. But I guess that’s Dior for you everything is disposable. Nothing is a classic except lady Dior.

And Balenciaga is like a joke now. I can understand the sarcasm at the first couple season, but now it’s getting old and the joke seems to be back on them. I’m just sad coz I used to love their work so much, but now they’re putting Cities on sale. [emoji29]

I feel the same way about Balenciaga. Sigh. The thing that was so great about the moto bags was there was no logo — the bags looked so distinctive, but there was no in-your-face branding. Now the name is literally spelled our across the bags. I dislike most of the bag styles, too.

while i agree about Bal and logo in principal, i still love Bal now a bit more, than before, if you look closer at what they offer now, you'll find more options (styles, sizes) than they ever did before! a lot of logo-free bags and in various leathers! and what i like about them, they didn't go down the hill in quality, my all new Bals are superb and impeccably well made :hbeat:

I do agree about the more options and the fact that they still keep their quality in tact. I guess I feel sad coz City used to be their classics and now it doesn’t feel like that anymore. [emoji20]

it still is, but re-branded a bit, it's (almost) impossible to hold Bal lovers attention for so many years without slight evolution, and i like that they keep the concept of the City but give her some fresh vibe (Metallic edge, Blackout, various skins) coz how long can you be an admirer of the SAME bag??? everybody will get tired eventually.
But apart from adding fresh blood to the classics, which imo is not up to everyone's taste, they have made A LOT of new designs, Balenciaga is on the top of all fashion blogs and magazines, i might detest the huge logo but i cannot not admit that from "what? Balenciaga? eh?" reaction they have moved to "ooh, Balenciaga!!!l (hope it makes sense)
and now all have something to like in Bal, Mums get their classic Citis, daughters get Graffiti, Bazar, etc...

I get the part. Just not the fact that even the classic City is now on sale. I know they used to have it once in a blue moon, but now.... I don’t know. I actually like the metallic edge and some other spin off like papier line. I just don’t like seeing the City on sale. Maybe I’m too uptight [emoji28]

honestly, i haven't seen the City on sale in the store, online rarely and very small %, but not in the store
all other styles, but not the City
Possibly, they just sell first, and i got to the store when they sold older stock and new ones were at the full price?...

I know I'm the only one actually taking bags to a comfort to try to hack their bags, or buying Etsy straps but I'm okay with that. :)

I'm still going to share my earthy quirky ideas! :) So this is what I'm doing with my le pliage to try to quell the desire to buy a cute new throw around lightweight carry all tote. Bag shaper, leaving it open, long Etsy strap.

I guess this quells my desire for a colorful summer tote but...
I still love those loup noir prints especially the black/brown print (that they don't even have on any small or mini shoppers anymore) because that would go with everything in fall/winter with a brown or tan leather trim.
Oh well it's summer now so I can stop lusting (over something that's not even available.)

I love all of yours. The leathers you choose are my favorites. I even went in to a bal outlet to look after I saw yours. lol

I just saw it the other day, but maybe it’s the old stock or something. Good to know that it’s just a rare occasion. [emoji4]

I’m the same way. I’m on FB (under my dog’s name, LOL). I almost never post but am on in order to participate in a closed group for the place where I volunteer.
Ditto, for certain groups. I use my first name misspelled and my last initial spelled out phonetically.
LOL! I do the same thing. I have a second ID I use for real friends and family and certain groups.
Totally agree with this! I just got some quotes on a bag I haven’t used in years. I’m going to get about 35% of what I paid for it. Ugh. But, I did get some good use out of it when I got it back in 2013, and as you said, it’s sunk costs.

The thing is, I did adore this bag when I bought it. Sometimes, your needs and tastes change, and there’s nothing you can do about that. It’s just life.
You’re right. It’s just so frustrating. I bought both bags not knowing much about the brands and not being clear on my style and preferences.

This is why I try my best to wait for purchases til I really love / need / can use it and then am willing to spend (if needed) kooky amounts on the bag. Purchases that aren’t quite right just create so much headache and self recrimination.
