Hi papertiger - you’ve shared some deep, insightful comments on both jewelry and on blogging. I admire your style as an expression of what you like, especially the way you style separate items into an outfit. Additionally, I like the great conversations on tPF and what you contribute to them. Thanks for all of your countless hours as a moderator. I have learned a lot and I appreciate it.

Life is full of difficult family issues ATM, TPF is my release. Thank you for all the kind words, they've really made my day and cheered me up.

I don’t post “my stuff” online. I keep myself very low key. Not even a fancy restaurant on my feed. Some memories about the trip, yes, but a very selective ones. Nothing material out there. People who know me know what I can do and can have. People who don’t know me have no business in knowing that. They’re already very lucky I decided to accept their request on my crazy moment. [emoji16] (The last sentence may sound arrogant, but its actually more like I have to add you because I have something that need to be in contact with you, but it doesn’t mean you should get to know that much about me so I wouldn’t let you know that much about me.)
cannot agree more!
i do have a Fb account, but hardly ever post anything there, no pics, no 'check-in', etc...
it was very eye-opening when one of the job far related contacts asked for some personal info, i surely told him where to go (to f#%@ off) and within a few mins time he started sending me by whatsapp my own pics which he easily retrieved from Fb.
(some not very clever people think that if they get closer to you on personal level, they will get more business, support, or benefit, which is total nonsense, so he was trying his luck to 'make friends' with me :yucky:)
Needless to say, i closed my Fb account immediately and only 'friends' can see my personal info now, but i am pretty sure there are ways to get access to any info one might be interested in.
There is no privacy any more.
And i feel fine to decline a 'friends request' if i believe this person should not be allowed into MY personal space.

ITA that the actual materials, workmanship and design come joint first, the brand is superfluous unless someone's thinking about selling before they've bought. I like Art Deco and mid-century modern, I think it's basically designs that do it for me.

I agree on the design part. The design will catch my eyes first. Then, normally, I’ll see the price tag and what they’re made of simultaneously. If it’s big ticket item, then, I’ll consider if I “love” the design much enough to pay for that. Sometimes, material and quality that go into making that piece will weight in. At this point, sometimes, brand or the artist will play a big factor here. My taste is all over the place, I think. [emoji4] I like cute stuff and intricate vintage Victorian pieces. Usually, I tend to go for simple pieces. I dress very simple and can wear the same article of clothing for years again and again. (I buy my favorite pants in dozens. One dozen in black, another dozen in navy blue. So much for creativity here. [emoji28]) so, yeah... I think my jewelry is kind of all over the place. But above all, it has to look good on me. [emoji4] There’s a phase that I’ll buy just because I like and really want to have it. I think I’m over that phase long time ago. [emoji28]

Wow! That guy is creepy! [emoji37][emoji37][emoji37] People actually did that? I set my personal info to “only me” and review photo that people tag me every a couple of months just to screen something out. And all my posts now can only be seen for friends and admin of the group/page I’m posting to.

I may miss something here, but I hope you can overcome whatever that’s coming your way. You’ve lived a colorful life and I’m sure you have enough strength to go through this. Hugs and [emoji1365][emoji1365]

Hey all! I need a group hug. I FINALLY listed my past HG - my Chanel 10c red caviar single flap jumbo - for sale on FB. I’ve needed to list it since I got the lamb replacement last year. But, it’s hard to let her go. :crybaby:

Sigh. I also need to list a couple other bags. I’ll get that done this weekend too. I also need to get this bag listed on all the other sale sites like eBay and Tradesy. Gagh! This is so much work. :whut:
Sending you a hug, spark, and also best wishes for your second surgery next Wednesday. :hugs:

He totally was! And while i can tell random strangers to get lost, i am hand-tied with those who are already on my list of friends, i.e. people post weird stuff, they make tactless comments, etc, thus, i remain 'inactive' as i don't want to waste my energy on stuff i can't be bothered about....

That was ridiculous for that guy to do that.

I don’t post to my instagram. And, I really despise FB. I don’t “get” why I would want (distantly connected) people to know what I’m up to on a daily basis and I don’t feel the need to know what others (distantly connected) are doing either.

Especially since it’s not really limited to true friends. I’m “friends” with people I know from grade school, random jobs, my college sorority, etc. If you wouldn’t even really care if I won the lottery, died or got beamed away by aliens, why should we know about each others’ personal live? LOL!

I hear people say they manage their brand on FB and other social media. These are regular folk. Not media darlings. I think “huh?”

Last comment on FB. I’m always amazed at how comfortable people are making rude, hateful and / or crass comments. You really get to know some better than you’d like. :whut:

I think that’s why I’m not into jewelry!

Currently the stuff being flaunted is all designer (VCA, Cartier, etc) or just gigantic (2+ ct diamonds) that it lacks personality.

Most places focus on diamonds, it’s hard to find beautiful gem stones, even harder to find pieces with personality that don’t rival VCA’s prices. I’d love more necklaces and bracelets, it’s just harder to find than a cute handbag.

I totally hate how my name is unique so it’s completely easy to find me across all social media platforms I’m on. So I try not to share actual photos of me here. Unless that photo recognition works on bags too then I may need to cut back on posting here and just on my Instagram.

Best wishes for everyone, be strong to get through what hurdles you have whether it be physical or mental. [emoji177] we’re all here for you!

On the handbag front, Mom bought me a bag! Well, not sure if the second is considered a bag or SLG.

One is the turnlock pouch in Cloud and the penny in navy.

The penny makes a perfect SLG for my battery pack. I plan to modify the strap to become removable.

The turnlock pouch I’ll ask my boutique to add tea roses too.

I’m beginning to wonder if those near me are noticing I’m not buying as many bags now. So I get gifts lol.

I bet they do.

Milestone reached!! I have photographed every wardrobe item (6 bags, 2 SLGs, 2 pr. shoes, 2 pr. boots, 1 suit, 2 pair of sunnies & 1 fine jewelry necklace) that I have to sell. So, the hardest part is behind me. :yahoo:

I also photographed almost al the few non wardrobe items I had in my sell box. Now, it’s just a matter of listing everything. which I’ll do while I recuperate. Surgery was moved up from Wednesday to Monday so, I’ll try to have everything listed this week. Yippee!
