Hi Ladies!
I had mentioned earlier after I purchased my black tote that I was looking for a lighter colored tote for summer. I was trying to stay away from anything with conspicuous branding and ended up with these two totes from Cole Haan. I will be returning the bag on the left. It was my backup plan in case I couldn’t get the woven bag, which I prefer. The bag on the right is beautifully made and as you can see, includes a strap, which I like. So now my tote collection is complete!

Life has been nonstop since I was here last. Dd graduated from college this month and ds will graduate from hs in a couple weeks. I’ve had a painter here repainting walls and ceilings and refinishing woodwork. We’ve lived in our home 13 years and it is due! He also power washed our deck for me which looks so much better now!

In our area it is tradition to host a large graduation party when a child graduates from high school and we will be having our party in a few weeks. I’ve always prepared the food in the past (for our two dd’s parties) but this year I decided to have it catered. Even without doing the food, life will be very busy between now and the party.

I hope all is well with everyone here and that you are all having a good spring!

Ah... I’m glad to hear everything is going so well and big congrats to your children!
Wish you the best, too! Hosting a big party can be quite a job, but I’m sure for a good reason like this, you’ll feel rewarding at the end. [emoji4]

Great choices!
In both the bag and the catering!
I'm glad to hear you are doing well - I think of you often!

That’s funny, More bags, as soon as I saw Bakeacookie’s question, I thought of the Evelyne! Bake, what does “city bag” mean to you in terms of specs? For me, the Evelyne is a great city bag, but if you need something that zips shut, for example, it won’t be right for you. I haven’t traveled in a while, but when I do, I’ll probably take a big Longchamp tote as my personal item and have another bag inside.

I was hoping there was a way to combine the LC tote personal item and a city bag. Seems like wishful thinking, haha.

I do have an Evelyne, @More bags, but I don't think I'd travel with mine because it's orange and I'd be paranoid of it getting dirty. Perhaps one in a darker color would be a good city bag to go in the LC.

I know I responded already about this, but now that you're all mentioning it, I NOW realize I have multiple multiples!!!

Pink and White MJ satchels
Fuchsia and Black AW mini Emiles (and a grey taupe small)
Two floral patterned Ted Baker totes (one blackish, one pastel)
Black and white croc-embossed Zac mini Earthas
The pink snake and KH Rogue 25s I'd already mentioned, and the gray snake & blue satchels

This is just off the top of my head!!

Congratulations on your new woven tote, DD’s college graduation and DS’s high school graduation! Have a great party, well done on the catering decision. I am having family over tomorrow and bought some prepared salads, appetizers and dessert. I have been traveling and this solution makes things less stressful so I can just enjoy their company. Raising a glass to you CDM!

Beautiful woven bag! It’s lovely to have these happy occasions to celebrate and it’s good to be busy too. Did you learn to use that lawnmower yet?
Funny you should ask that question Soramillay. I have a sweet story about lawn mowing. My son has been doing it this spring but he started our lawn a couple days ago and didn’t finish as we have a large yard. Our local government offers a Clean Sweep program every spring and it was today this year. I was hard at work yesterday collecting the various chemicals that had accumulated in hubby’s shop over the years. Shedding tears because it’s hard for me to be in his shop. Feeling stressed about the lawn when I heard my neighbor out mowing his lawn. As I loaded items on my truck I looked and I saw that he was actually mowing MY lawn. My neighbors are the best.

I love stuff like that. When I first moved to the boonies dh was away and I was home trapped in two feet of snow and home with four small children at the time. Suddenly i hear a weird sound in my driveway and it was my new 70 year old neighbor snow blowing. It’s a memory I will always treasure.

Aw, dcooney, I love it! There are a lot of good people in the world. What a blessing!

I love the look of your woven-leather tote, CDM. Very stylish, but as you say, it's nonbranded, which I know was important to you. I think you've found the perfect warm-weather tote!

Sounds as though it's really busy for you, indeed. Between the two graduations, parties, plus all the work on the house... wow. I hope you're also taking some time for yourself in the midst of the commotion. It's definitely smart of you to have your DSs graduation party catered. Delegation is a GOOD thing! :flowers:

I guess it would be something that can carry a light sweater, SLGs, and a small umbrella, maybe even a spare set of clothes.

Minus the spare set of clothes, I’d get a mid sized messenger bag in some light weight material such as coated canvas or nylon. But with a set of clothes, I’d say a tote. Or you can get foldable tote just to put on those clothes and put them in luggage when you arrive at destination. They can help lug your shopping things back home, too.
