Nice bag! What brand is it?
I keep eying the Givenchy Pandora, but I've never seen one in IRL so I wonder about the shape. Have you ever tried one on? What color would you get, if you were to buy one?

The bag in the photo is Massaccesi Angelica in a stiffer leather (natural/flat calf). I had one in a softer leather but that didn’t work for me. This one for sure does!

I’ve tried the Pandora several times but really I can’t decide between the small and the medium. The medium seems too big but the small is too casual for me as crossbody. The medium is better for shoulder carry by the handle but big as crossbody IMO. I would get one in grey or black. [emoji3]

Does anyone else carry more often the non favorite bags?
The bags I have no doubt about keeping for ages or forever I find myself not carrying nearly as much as those that I am still on the fence about or still "figuring out" how to best utilize. The question mark bags get all my time and attention and the slam dunk bags get ignored. That's kind of messed up right? Ideally they would all be slam dunks and I would rotate evenly throughout the collection.

One non-favorite bag that I carry a lot is my Bal Velo. It suits certain occasions for me so I carry it, but it’s not 100% love. And then there are favorites that would not go with a lot of occasions.

When do you give up on selling an item? I’ve had a bag up for sale for 16 months with no interest. I have a brand new SLG that’s been on sale for 8 months. :-s

I’ve reached the rock bottom of what I would like to receive on them. But I’m not excited to bring them back into my collection. The cost of both is too high for me to donate without fainting. And DD hates the bag and already has the exact same SLG.

When do you decide to give up and figure out how to love the item again?

I think when I fall out there’s little chance of rekindling that love. [emoji3] So the best thing is to let go. Remember what I did with a bag I “gave” to a friend, I asked her to pay a token amount (which she was very happy to do). Don’t you have someone like that to which you could “give” the bag. If not, maybe you can accept low offers from consignment shops.

Randomly. I had no idea they were resting Gold, that's huge news.

Wow, you had 3!!!???

If the bag was Etoupe would you prefer it? I have a theory that H lovers are divided into Etoupe neutrals and Gold neutrals, hardly ever both.

If you have a RH GP too and you always go for the RH it's understandable. I have the very same 2 colour Bolides (also same size). Gold came first and still gets 10 x more wear but I knew that would be when I bought the RH - it was always partly a 'collector' bag. If I thought meh about the RH I would def sell it. It's my posh Bolide (do US people know what posh means?)
I tend to get multiples when I like something. When my shoulder hurts nothing works better then a handheld light weight speedy. So the Azur for summer, de for winter and rouge epi for a little shot of color. I have also bought multiples in other things like MZ Wallace bags because the colors are so pretty like candy you can’t try just one.

I’m still a bit on the fence about it, TBH. As background, I used to have three all-leather Garden Parties. I’m still not quite sure how I ended up with that many of a bag that never quite worked perfectly for me! Last year, I sold one because the color no longer appealed to me. So now I have two, this one in Gold and another in Rouge H. Since I’ve been walking around on a bum knee, weight and comfort of bags has become increasingly important, and with the GPs, I realize that it’s become a bad combination: I use them when I have a lot to carry, and then find they’re too heavy to carry by hand and not comfortable over my shoulder.

I’m still struggling a bit because Hermes Gold is “classic” and versatile and may be rested right now. And the GP is a great, under the radar but still obviously high quality bag. But I also have to acknowledge that I pulled the bag out yesterday to really decide and my instant reaction was, “meh.”

I’ve always loved bags but wasn’t into “collecting” and super high-end brands until around 2011. So, many of my bags were bought after that time. I’ve never bought with the intention to sell, but I like having the option in case my tastes change or a bag no longer works for me. I figure when I find myself consistently reaching for Longchamp nylon over Hermes leather, that’s a sure sign that something isn’t working!
I don't know if this helps, but when I think I want to sell an H scarf but am not totally sure, I list it on the high side. Then if it sells, I'm happy and move on, and if it doesn't sell I can re-think. (I usually end up listing it again later.) But I move in and out of scarves often, much more easily than with bags.

I sold another bag through my local consignment shop. This one I feel a tad guilty about as it was a gift two Christmas’s ago. It just wasn’t my style. I was asked about it a while ago and said I was wearing it on occasion but the thin strap killed my shoulder. Hopefully I won’t be asked again. Do you ever feel bad when you get rid of a gift?

Lol, yes, we get posh.
Hm. I find RH the easiest color to wear!

Who else here has/had 3 (or 3 +) same bags? Please say how you arrived at multiples.

There only 2 models of bags I have 3 of. Interestingly both were first designed more than 70 years ago.

H Bolide. I have 3, 2 x 35s and a travel size Web. The travel size is prob closer to the original of 1923. They are basically the only H bag I thought I'd ever want besides a Black Box Kelly. I was partly right, except I'm glad I have the other models too but Bolides are so easy in all respects. Can't think of another to add except as I said to go exotic. They are prob more 'me' than a Kelly but then I've always been drawn to rounded bags.

Gucci BTH are my signature bags (and also rounded). I have 2 Large and one Med. The large is actually closer to the original size. When I wear them I feel like myself and I know what I'm doing with them. Like Bolides they stay organised inside and they also have hand-friendly handles as well as detachable shoulder straps. The bamboo handles are cool in the Summer and warm-up in the Winter. My med is a Bamboo Bold and was always going to be more formal but they always look both a little bit fancy and tough. Like Bolides too, you can dress them up if you want but the design is actually really strong on its own.
Threesomes:
I have four trims (at one time I had 6) My size is 31. It is the easiest bag in the world to carry!
I have three Kellys (Rouge H 28 sellier, BBK 32 retourne, gold chamonix 32 sellier) The most gorgeous bag ever, that's why. LOL
I probably need a BTH.

I agree, some of these are totally OTT (and $6,500 for the subway bag is insane). The Loop hobo is my favorite (and I think it’s gone up in price since I took this screenshot). Classic shape, a little edgy hardware, a little more structure than most of their other hobos. Right up my alley! Of course, the large is too large and the small is probably too small, but that’s another story ...

I like this Loop hobo!! Bummer about the sizes though.

Interesting theory about H lovers and Gold vs. Etoupe. I never liked Etoupe in the GP, it always had a slightly greenish cast to my eye. Then I saw it in a clemence Evelyne and I was sold, so it must be the leather. I think my tastes have changed slightly away from warm neutrals and toward cool ones, so you may be on to something. But I love Barenia and that’s a rich warm brown when it patinas, so IDK. I think it’s that the bag itself no longer works the way it once did. I do like the Rouge H one better, but tend to only wear that color in the fall/winter. And regardless of color, there’s the simple fact that it’s not comfortable over the shoulder. I’ve thought of selling both but not quite ready yet!

p.s. yes, Americans do understand “posh!”

Three Kelly’s: Rouge Vif Box 32, Fauve Barenia 35, Indigo Box 35 with Rouge Vif lining. The Indigo Box wasn’t planned, but when I saw it (vintage special order) I couldn’t resist.

Three Chanel Reissues: Black 226 with Ruthenium HW, Dark Blue 227 with Ruthenium HW, Black 227 with Gold HW. I’m going to see how much use the dark blue one gets over the summer and then decide whether to sell.

I’ve been known to end up with multiples when I get a bag in a color that is spring/summer and then want another for fall/winter (or the reverse). Or, when I love the first iteration of the bag but find it would work better in a different color or size. I got the blue 227 Reissue because the 226 was too small for everyday. I didn’t want two black reissues, but over time realized I still wanted the larger size in black. Trial and error.

Yes, sometimes price is a factor if I’m on the fence. One of the consignment offers I got on this bag was higher than I expected, so at least I don’t have to worry about feeling low-balled!

@Sparkletastic It’s worth trying with new photos to refresh the listing, but overall I think it depends how much you really want it gone. I’d lower the price or donate it, if it really isn’t selling and I didn’t want to try and learn to love it again. But personally I’m usually of a mind that once I’ve decided I don’t want something - that’s it. I’m over it and no going back.

Though I'm definitely no flipping guru and just started reselling, I think I do a version of this, kind of like backwards auctions. I have my own selling base- for anything less I'd rather keep. Luckily I LOVE all my things- the stuff I no longer wish to have around are generally not worth anything anyway. Kind of an issue of liking having too may things around. (Good thing I'm great at organizing it!!!)

I found what works for me, then i identify WHEN i use the style most and get the colours i will be wearing for those cases/outfits/occasions...
I definitely did this with clothes, and was 50/50 about which got worn, as I DEFINITELY had favorite/most wearable shades. I finally realized they are all different to me, in different colors! So now I try to avoid duplicates at all costs, UNLESS from the beginning I'm thinking 'I love this but wish it were/came in ___' (which actually happened to me with a down coat I have!! I actually had every intention of getting rid of the first to make space for the 'better' second, but I actually wear them both equally.)
I kind of failed at this too, as I have multiple Rogues, but they keep coming out with more beautiful, completely different ones!!! (To me anyway- I think I'm good with my collection at the moment. Until they come out with more!) To answer your question, I have a pink snake 25. Then the gray snake satchel. Then the KH since it's completely different, and that was after I realized how great the bag was! Then I realized I was still sad about having missed the blue satchel (having purchased the gray instead at the beginning of the season, instead of coming home with both), so snapped it up when it became available again. This one I'm on the fence over, since it's just the regular, slightly bigger, and not the snake, though I prefer its different size for it not being TOTALLY redundant...
