This is so pretty. The black one they had at the outlet had someone's nail scratch right on the front and center of the bag and the snake one was to delicate for me. I'm still waiting to get a black bag till I get rid of some more of the black bags that don't work but have not held their value so I have held on to them.

I also have bags that I should have gotten rid of long ago, but the resale value is awful. I also tend to hang on too long when I’ve gotten a lot of good use out of a bag and start thinking maybe I’ll use it again, someday. I really have to stop thinking that way — my in laws had a house full of 50 years of “someday,” which was not good!

Yep. I got quotes and they were abysmal.

No one to sell it to personally. I’m just super frustrated on these items. Sigh.
I am a fan of buying multiples because when something works, it works!!! Why struggle to find a different model when the one that makes me happy comes in various colors, sizes and materials.

I have 5 Chanel classic flaps and 3 Miss Diors. I would buy additional ones of each in a heartbeat if I like the color / material variation and got a good deal. (I also have several models of bags of which I own 2.)

In fact as I look at the list of my collection, I would happily accept a 2nd or 3rd (or 6th) of almost all of them. They’re all pretty and functional. I just won’t buy more because I’m trying to keep my collection manageable and don’t really need them right now.
Congrats!

No, I don’t feel bad when I get rid of a gift. The point of the gift was to make me happy -not to saddle me with something I don’t want. So, if it misses the mark I offload the item. Then I’m happy with the proceeds or space that exit provided. And I’m happy for people to return, sell, regift whatever I give them for the same reason. I want them happy. I just want them to tell me so I can learn from them what they like and don’t like.

I’m with you on the gift giving — I always try to include a gift receipt and make a point of telling the person that if it’s not to their taste or if they just want something else instead, that I am totally FINE with that!

Unfortunately, for some people the point of a gift is not to make the recipient happy, it’s to make themselves happy. Case in point: when my parents gave my sister a book on financial planning for her birthday, her happiness was not their main objective!

Here you go .... I really need to take a good group shot. Speaking of bags that are most loved but least used, my red Kelly falls into that category. It only gets used once or twice a year, but I love it too much to sell!

Drooling all over the laptop. These are gorgeous!!!! Even if you only use the red once a year it is worth it. And barenia - sigh. And contrast stitching!! Thanks for sharing the pix. Awesome collection.

Popping in and saying hi! Life and work have been hectic lately - studying for an extra license, planning our move in July (fingers crossed things are on time cuz waiting just makes me anxious, I need it done!) and hiring another 2 members to our team. Crazy!

I did manage to find a black nylon backpack with gold details to fit my laptop!!! Was soooo worth the wait to stumble across this - and it was an accident! I happen to be killing time in Winners and found it for $49.99. I did debate whether to buy it seeing as I had so many bags but having to lug around my laptop a lot more lately and studying materials was just a pain in the butt, so having everything I’ve been looking for in a backpack for work, I bought it and I’ve been using it every day since. Love it. One of my best purchases.

And today, just taking a breather from craziness and enjoying a late breakfast with dh in the sun, before starting my studies.

Beautiful bags... especially the red one! If you love it, there's really no reason to sell it even if it only gets used once or twice a year. As long as you have the space for it, it's definitely worth keeping just to have the pleasure of using it now & then. I'm sure we all have a few (or more than a few!) bags we rarely take out, but it makes us happy knowing that we own them.

And this is something only tPF members would understand...

So true! I do try to only buy bags I will get a lot of use out of at this point, but there is an exception to every rule and the red Kelly is the exception!

Thanks! I have the impression that the leather does not scratch easily, so whoever scratched that piece must have scratched really hard! Good luck in selling the blacks that don't work. Btw, I visited the Jimmy Choo boutique when I was in the mall after the salon session. They had a gold metallic Raven in the bigger size. I'm glad I got the smaller one as that one would be too big for my purpose.

------
That mall (aside from the usual boutiques there) also had a pop up store that carries Loewe, Valentino Garavani, Chloe, Proenza Schouler and Anya Hindmarch. Eye candy!! And I got the chance for the first time to see the Loewe Puzzle, Gate and Hammock IRL. @vink , the leather on your bag is so beautiful! They don't have medium but I got to try the small.

Just an FYI - I use the Raven as my carefree bag. It’s gotten thrown around in my car, taken with me to get mulch, stuffed under airplane seats, covered in a pile of grocery bags, rained on, dropped on the floor a bunch of times, etc. So far, no permanent scratches, scuffs, dings. It looks brand new. The only thing it’s gotten along the way was some very light scuffs which came out immediately with leather conditioner (I always clean it first since it gets worn hard) - no need to even apply a colored conditioner. So the leather is very durable. I’ve even wiped it multiple times with a Lysol wipe to disinfect it after it’s been on the floor and that didn’t discolor it dry it out. Best carefree bag ever! It looks great but can take true wear.

My Jimmy Choo bags are by far some of the best quality bags I own. They are so underrated. Quality to me isn’t just in good construction but also in how “hard” I can wear a bag and still have it appear new. I don’t have little kids or pets so, I do expect my bags to allow me to live my life. Now, of course, as I’ve mentioned, I’m typically careful about my bags. I only have two designated as “carefree” (the other being my Prada jute and snakeskin bag) The others are never put on a floor or thrown around. But I still expect that they can be worn without leather getting bad scuffs, seams popping, handles breaking, edging cracking, etc.

I don’t think that is too much to ask. I entered my bag love with the original Coach bags which were some of the best quality bags I’ve ever seen. I would put those old Coach bags’ construction up against anything made any time at any price point. So, I’m really intolerant of “new” bags that cost hundreds and thousands of dollars that fall apart or require babying to be worn.

These are gorgeous bags!!! Perfect colors for the Kelly too!

And, nooooooo way you should sell that red. I’m always a big proponent of not keeping what we don’t use but, that is whole different thing from keeping a beloved bag we do use once in a while for a special pop.

This is making me think I need to go ahead and get a Kelly. So special. Do you find the lock finicky or irritating?

TBH, yes, the lock is finicky. I find the Kelly a bit more fussy than a Chanel Reissue (don’t have any classic Chanel’s but I’m thinking it’s the same thing). It is kind of a pain to strap the whole bag up. A lot of ladies here just do the turnlock and don’t bother with the sangles — and I do this too sometimes — but then you do have to be careful not to overload the bag, because if you do that a lot, the turnlock can bend over time. I guess the flip side is if you travel with a Kelly all strapped up, you won’t ever get pickpocketed,!

But each and every Kelly is different. My red one is pretty stiff because it’s smaller (size 32 so not super small) and Box. The Barenia is a lot easier — the sangles are super soft and floppy and the whole bag is more pliable. I expect a pebbled leather like Togo would soften up nicely as well, and I’ve seen photos of preloved bags in Swift leather that were so soft they wouldn’t stand up on their own! So that factors in, but generally speaking, getting in and out of a Kelly is more of a process than with most other bags!
