Since we're discussing more shopping:

What is on everyone's shopping list? Then we can help each other!

In my Stylebook thread I shared my wishlist before I go on a shopping ban (and I seriously hope that this thread helps next year instead of encouraging more shopping haha)

I'm looking for dark colored skirts. But not the simple, plain ones. I gotta want to wear this for over a year lol.

At the beginning of last season I bought this Cos skirt: http://www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Skirts/Layered_panel_skirt/7086-62900637.1#62900649 It's so comfortable and easy I'm thinking of getting a second as a spare.

Regarding bag straps, lots of brands make them now, but the price points can be crazy.

Fendi, the most popular one with it's beautiful designs.
LV.
Longchamp had two that went on sale, but were shoulder strap length.
Rebecca Minkoff has some, and probably the brand with the most variety.
Kate Spade has some, but the design on the straps left much to be desired imo.
I haven't seen much from MK anymore, do they still have them?
Mark Jacobs and Lowe have some in Nordstrom.
Valentino has some which would complement lots of people's bags here!
Places like TJ Maxx have no brand ones for cheap, which is where I got mine, as I wasn't sure if I'd like a different strap for long.

If there's a specific bag needing a strap, please post and we can all shop for you!

Browsing is the fun part lol.

:hugs:

You are wonderful, thank you

Oh dear. I haven't visited for a while and when I finally do, I scrolled back far enough that I missed out on tons of talk on bag charms (I only have one, a monkey charm that I bought from Etsy) and then now its the erm, scarves/twillies which seems to be the rage. I also saw mentions of plastic on hw of the bags, and I unfortunately have to say I'm one of those people who actually left it on (for certain bags and if the plastic is not exposed in a obvious place on the bag). But well, I agreed with you guys that a bag should be used (no need to baby it like crazy), so I immediately went and took off the plastic from the feet of my Loewe Puzzle bag (since that's the bag I'm currently using and is just sitting on my bed).

Went a bit nuts with prints. Here you go sparkle.
Prints are good, more so if they are lovely. They help to brighten things up. All my MZW bags are prints except for one. But they do prints very well. I think you also posted a moth print Roxy among the numerous posts that I saw?

I watch the series Doctor Who. At some point, I noticed some of the accessories companions carried, like Clara Oswald and her red satchel. So, if the Doctor showed up (traveler through time and space) and you had time to grab just one bag before running off on adventures with him, which would it be?
I would grab my MZW backpack. I can't take my leather bags with me if I need to go on an adventure. MZW bags are carefree bags and with a backpack, my hands are free. Carefreeeeeeeeeeee~~~ XDXD

I have a question for everyone - do you have a bag in your collection that you can imagine wearing and wearing and wearing till it falls to bits? I'm sometimes fickle with bags, and move them on when I get bored, but I've had this goatskin Pandora for about 3 years. I've worn it regularly and in all sorts of weather, slinging it around without babying it, and all it does is get softer. Such an easy bag to live with

Sure, I can wear it until it falls to bits, but only if I own that one bag. O_o But ever since I fell into the hole in bagalicious land, my attention jumps from bag to bag, and I have too many (for me, that is) to use them until they fall to bits. Actually, I do find it a bit regretful that I can't use them often enough till it falls apart. Because it feels like I can't devote my time to truly one bag. Hmmm..... (unless I do ruthless purging and really cut down the number) Well, I'm on the path right now and I will get there someday (hopefully sooner than later!).

Ok, need to time out. Because I kinda want to play video games now (or maybe not).

Hurray for taking the plastic off!!

Enjoy your Loewe bag and all of the others to the fullest!

Also, isn't that why we buy more than one bag? So they don't have to fall apart from constant usage? Granted the brands we buy hopefully won't fall apart so soon, but we did buy to be able to rotate, match outfits, etc.

So if one person can carry one or no bag, great, but if we find joy in rotating frequently, even better. [emoji4]

No, it's not :D
I am a crude oil/petroleum products surveyor, quantity inspection, in my early 20s it was fun to do a man's job (better than some men ). Not doing it anymore, but still work with vessels from the office :)
You're the first person I know who does that job. I didn't know there was a job like that, but I have no doubt you could do it better than most men. Women are very hard, meticulous, multi tasking queens!

OMG I need a Tardis blue bag.

Mid-Late 1970s was all about the feisty but glamourous ladies on TV with long legs and even longer hair. American Gigolo was released in 1980 but filmed in 1979 and typifies the aspirational look of the time. Disco was by then international and a jet set life was the aim, everything was glossy, shiny, lean and clean. Gone were the crazy colours of the early 1970s, instead a neutral palette with added accents of metallics. Swinging shoulder bags and lady like proportions, and the reemergence of the sharp shoulder on a proper jacket but on a narrow cut silhouette complete with the new-look pencil skirt. Silky shirt dresses and high heel sandals worn with fine delicate jewellery, all with sensual, nonchalant flair. Fitness and dance was also spotlighted in fashion and long lean sweaters worn with skinny jeans (then called drainpipes) in dark denim, white or unusual colours (esp Gloria Vanderbilt) worn with leg warmers over - heels (like broadway dancers rehearsing). Designer denim was born and laid back elegance was key.

Gucci brought out the Gucci Accessories Collection which brought their signature print to bags and small items (before more used on luggage). This made their logo more accessible and reached a new set of young people at the lower price-point. Hermes' Evelyne was designed in 1978, another attempt from H to catch-up with the casual world. Hermes represented 'old and stuffy' during the 1970s and commissioned many bags to stay in the game. As well as the Evie, there was also the Garden Party and neat clutches like my `Lady Clutch (1979). In 1979, Lew Fankfort joined Coach to transform it into a global force it is today, unadorned Coach leather shoulder bags created a middle market where quality and affordability joined together.

Larger day clutches and sleek shiny long clutches capture the late 1970s mood. Also, unadorned, soft leather shoulder bags from small to medium in earth colours or dark neutrals.

Thank you very much for your knowledge. I really love what you said about the year I was born. [emoji4] Quite funny that most of the style I like is similar to the one I grew up with. Is that how fashion influences people? And is that why we sometimes think designers just recycle stuff?

Your clutch is amazing. It looks really well kept. And I like how you pair it with that shades of red and burgundy. The hat look really cozy.

This made me laugh! I prefer dresses and skirts and don't like jeans or trousers much at all [emoji3] I have 2 pairs of jeans (one of which is just for super scruffy jobs around the house) and no other trousers at the mo. Occasionally I buy linen trousers for summer but that's about it ;-)
Between Catholic school and work, I did my turn (and probably someone else's) with dresses! I think it's cool that you wear them the majority of time.

No wallet. She carries her drivers license inside folded money which then goes in back pocket of jeans. Sunglasses on top of head and keys just get set down wherever, table at restaurant/bar, lap at movie.....I can't close my eyes and see her with a purse.
Wow. Just wow. I can't even.
That is an amazing price for that bag!

It's got a stealth vibe going on too. My Chloe Paddy is all-black (if I leave the padlock off no one even knows what bag it is) I love that ultra-dark vibe.
Thanks! I'm very happy with it especially for the price.
That looks perfect with your trusty Alma
Is there a 'spare strap' thread in this sub-forum ? I'd love a cute inter-changeable one like yours )looked at MK website - nothing  .
We should start one!
I don't think there is a thread on this. There are the more expensive ones like Fendi, Valentino and Anya Hindmarch (not sure if they have some on sale). Then you have Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade and Michael by Michael Kors. But you have to check if the length suits you as most are non-adjustable. Then, I recently came across local sellers here advertising that they have Piumelli straps from Italy. I checked its website just now and I only found 1 design available for 49 euros. Here, they are selling it for close to $140.
This is good insight. I would have forgotten to check strap length.
i didn't mean to teach you, i was just thinking aloud suggesting ideas basis my way of dressing... lol
of, course, you go by your preferred items, but you get the point? when you start moving in and out you might end up moving less, e.g. if you get one new skirt that will do well with your current 3-4 tops, you will not need to get new tops... you just need to see which things HAVE TO GO NOW, just to define the starting point.
i know, easier said than done, but i have this plan in my head for myself and once i have some more spare time (kids will travel to their Grans soon) i plan to do big cleanout and purge. God help me!
Please teach me! I need all the help I can get. This is very frustrating.
Little at a time is better. The idea of sticking to a number every week will help if you're a goal focused person too. My advice would be to put all your 20% of perfect together and see what you've got, shapes, colours and styles, then you can work through the rest.
I think having a plan and a number is the only way this is getting done.
I think we should start one.
I'm getting rid of all dresses, skirts, suits.....if I never put a dress on again I would be forever happy and grateful. So you wear dresses casually, like on a day off, around the house?
LOL! Yes. I wear dresses 90% of the time. The only time I wear pants and jeans is if it's frigid cold or I'm doing an activity like horseback riding that requires it or the situation screams for them like when I traveling from city to city in Europe (and even then I wore Maxi dresses half the time.
I like dresses because I think my shape looks best in them (I'm a slim hourglass with a long waist so cutting me at the waist visually doesn't allow me to look as lean) and I'm girlie and honestly - it looks like a took a lot of time but it's easier. If I put on a dress, wedge sandals and a killer handbag I'm dressed in 5 minutes and it "looks" like I took more time : care than I did. The matching of separates makes me cuckoo. I can do it. But it's usually because I bought the whole outfit at once. LOL! And they are soooooo comfortable. So yeo I even have casual, comfy dresses for the house that I can curl up in.
This made me laugh! I prefer dresses and skirts and don't like jeans or trousers much at all  I have 2 pairs of jeans (one of which is just for super scruffy jobs around the house) and no other trousers at the mo. Occasionally I buy linen trousers for summer but that's about it ;)
Same here. I am all about dresses and sometimes their friend the skirt. But again, the separates thing isn't my favorite. But I'm learning to coordinate them with more ease.
I like to wear dresses more, but they don't dress as much in the office. So I am usually in slacks.
I'm usually the only person in a dress. I've given up on trying to fit in. I just match the formality of the dress to the environment.
This is a great carefree bag, Sparkle! It looks roomy, and the black on black is really a great combo.

It looks so right too, ksuromax! Beautiful!
Thanks!!
Congrats on your Rm bag. I still have a small Rm bag from a few years ago and the quality is very good as was the Julian backpack I had from them.
Thanks! The quality is surprisingly good. The stories on TPF had me worried.
What kind of pieces are you looking for and in what colors?
Items: 85% dresses from dressy / cocktail to casual run to the grocery store. Preferably ones that come in at the waist. Then fill in the other 15% with some great slacks (I now only own 2 pair), skirts and blouses that can go from dressy to work to somewhat casual. Lastly a few nice sweaters. I'm good on suits. No one wears those anymore and I have some classic shapes. And no gowns. I also am well stocked there.
Colors: Primarily white, cream / beige, grey, black - mostly solids, some patterns. And then a few pops of color - pink, turquoise, cobalt, red and green. No navy or earth tones because I want everything to go with everything else and I don't think I look great in earth tones. I tend to look like a mottled tree searching for foliage.
Style: Chic / architectural with a hint of glam.

I LOVE this! Absolutely love it. I want simple items with a twist to make them interesting. Kudos, PT!

I think the best thing about living now is women can choose to be any combination of things. Being ladylike and well groomed can go right along with driven and powerful. And casual and comfy can go with brilliant and insightful.
That being said certain things never change. Street walker, disheveled or Cruella D'evil mean spirited are bad choices for everyone.
Great looks Liznaj, I love the third. The sexy mini and heels juxtaposed with the conservative blazer and top is adorable. I don't wear anything that short but cheer on anyone who can.

I agree. That's why it scare me that with all the choices and opportunities out there, many teenagers choose to behave like that hoping it'll make them famous... for what? [emoji17]
