Oh, I love the strap you bought! Looks so nice with your bag. This strap came in a nudeish/taupe color that I wanted to get, but I just don't think I have the right color bag for it.
I was specifically looking for a strap for the Alma when I got this, but of course it has to be versatile to match other bags too!
That's a great strap for the Alma!!!
Thanks!!

I have in-laws coming over in a couple of weeks. Last time they came over for lunch, I was ordered out of my own kitchen. I may move out for the duration and leave DH plus guests to it.

Do't tempt me. I'm certainly buying earplugs
 PT, you are cracking me up. Families are definitely wonderful and crazy making. LOL!
I used to shop with my sister (the one in the US) when she was still based here. I liked having someone tell me how the clothes look as sometimes we really can't tell by ourselves. Then she left, and I was forced to shop alone. Then I just got so used to it that I can't stand shopping with others. I feel rushed. And when they are the ones doing the shopping for themselves, I get bored.

I also did a lot of searching and choosing for embellished straps. I like yours. But I didn't get that one for myself. I planned to only get one and it has to be versatile. Will post mine in a while. What a timing, since I am now in the office and used this MK strap for the first time too.
Yes! Exactly. I feel rushed if anyone is with me and bored when I'm with someone else who is shopping.
Here is the MK studded strap with my Alma. I have looked at several straps. I narrowed my choice to: genuine leather and strap length of no more than 40" or just close to it. I would have preferred for this to be shorter but this is at the shortest setting.

I have also attached this to my AMQ Padlock bag (birch color) but the picture is not on this phone. Incidentally, my main phone is at the Apple service center for diagnostics. I was told that best case scenario is battery replacement, which costs a little over $100. Sigh, it's easier to spend on bags than these stuff.
This is gorgeous!!! Great choice. I agree any new strap has to be leather to "match" my bags. I actually saw a cute lambskin one on eBay but I don't have any lambskin bags that are appropriate for these kinds of straps.
She thinks she is! [emoji23] Very much a tomboy. She was once going somewhere where she had to dress up, and didn't have jean pockets for her money, and she calls me and says "what am I supposed to put in this bag?" I about fell over! [emoji23][emoji23]
OMG. That almost took my breath away. Bags are life! Even a tomboy needs a great bag. LOL!

She still doesn't carry one! I had to tell her things to put in her bag so it wouldn't look empty. Lol....

My new Furla had her first outing today. The lady guard by the entrance at the mall said (as she went through the motion of checking my bag which is an SOP here) "your bag is beautiful!"

I normally don't match blue and olive green, but I wanted to wear the bag! [emoji4]
Your new Furla looks fabulous on you!

I have a question for everyone - do you have a bag in your collection that you can imagine wearing and wearing and wearing till it falls to bits? I'm sometimes fickle with bags, and move them on when I get bored, but I've had this goatskin Pandora for about 3 years. I've worn it regularly and in all sorts of weather, slinging it around without babying it, and all it does is get softer. Such an easy bag to live with

This Pandora is a gorgeous colour and leather!

Your'e right, certain colours, styles and leathers look better and better with age and use.

The bag that springs to mind most is my BV Cervo Hobo. I've already had the privilege of using it for 3 years all year round even though I bought it as a Summer bag. I often go for weeks without changing out of it. It's also the bag I take on holiday. That is why you see this bag so much in this thread.

I'll keep my Gucci Top-handles and others and H bags for ever but they won't look good too bashed.

BTW, if that Pandora is the exact colour it appears on my screen that's exactly the colour that's missing from my wardrobe ;)
Great pic of your BV and scarf!

Sure. I don't have many pics.

Mine is black patent with ghw and bright blue lapis. They were also made in non-patent, lizard and croc (not sure about ostrich but I can dream). The stones I've seen so far have been lapis, tiger's eye, onyx, malachite, all look lovely. Prob only 1 or 2 were made in each combo so you see why I'd have to time-travel, years from about 1968-'72. Superb bags but mine is a bit of train-wreck due to someone incorrectly storing it.

Here with a Chanel around the same age:

Stunning bag and fantastic mod pic!

Happy Father's Day to those of you who are celebrating with your favorite dad.

We're headed out to a very late brunch and I'm taking my new metallic Dior babies with me. The silver pairs nicely with the teal dress I just slipped into. So glad I decided to ignore my head and follow my heart to get this bag!!!!

Congratulations again on your new Dior additions!

Today's bag! KS backpack

I don't think I have any contributions for this week's theme. I was pretty ruthless in last year's purge so it's not too hard for me to rotate through my 5 bags haha. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's posts though!
Cute picture. I admire your tightly curated collection - wow, 5 bags!

I found the missing two charms! And more missing charms! Haha.

Some were on a bag, some were in a bag cuz I still haven't gotten it stamped.

And! My new yellow luggage tag!

That should complete my bag decorations.

You know. Until I buy more [emoji28]
Great bag charms, yellow is a great positive/sunny/happy colour!

Summery is exactly what my bag looks like! Balenciaga Day in Apple Green, plus H scarf
Gorgeous Apple Green Day and scarf!

Well, I will offer up a bag that I could use some different styling ideas for. It was a gift from DH; I chose it. I wore it a lot initially; but then it became a closet sitter. It's still in excellent condition.

It brings back special memories and a very special time in our lives, so I do not plan on selling it ... at least not for now. It is currently my only obviously branded bag.

Some ways I would style it, but I would like more ideas!

I like the ways you styled it!

OMG I need a Tardis blue bag.

Mid-Late 1970s was all about the feisty but glamourous ladies on TV with long legs and even longer hair. American Gigolo was released in 1980 but filmed in 1979 and typifies the aspirational look of the time. Disco was by then international and a jet set life was the aim, everything was glossy, shiny, lean and clean. Gone were the crazy colours of the early 1970s, instead a neutral palette with added accents of metallics. Swinging shoulder bags and lady like proportions, and the reemergence of the sharp shoulder on a proper jacket but on a narrow cut silhouette complete with the new-look pencil skirt. Silky shirt dresses and high heel sandals worn with fine delicate jewellery, all with sensual, nonchalant flair. Fitness and dance was also spotlighted in fashion and long lean sweaters worn with skinny jeans (then called drainpipes) in dark denim, white or unusual colours (esp Gloria Vanderbilt) worn with leg warmers over - heels (like broadway dancers rehearsing). Designer denim was born and laid back elegance was key.

Gucci brought out the Gucci Accessories Collection which brought their signature print to bags and small items (before more used on luggage). This made their logo more accessible and reached a new set of young people at the lower price-point. Hermes' Evelyne was designed in 1978, another attempt from H to catch-up with the casual world. Hermes represented 'old and stuffy' during the 1970s and commissioned many bags to stay in the game. As well as the Evie, there was also the Garden Party and neat clutches like my `Lady Clutch (1979). In 1979, Lew Fankfort joined Coach to transform it into a global force it is today, unadorned Coach leather shoulder bags created a middle market where quality and affordability joined together.

Larger day clutches and sleek shiny long clutches capture the late 1970s mood. Also, unadorned, soft leather shoulder bags from small to medium in earth colours or dark neutrals.

Wonderful history lessons, however, your clutch is outstanding!!

So, my carefree bump around bag came in and I'm very happy with it. It's the Rebecca Minkoff Isobel Satchel. IMG_6234.JPG
I really needed a top zip, leather, convertible satchel that is roomy, "quiet" on branding and in personality and a little slouchy for low profile on my body. Plus, I was inspired by @dcooney's new carefree bags to keep the cost of the bag low. I found this brand new for $100 which is 70% off!

I'd read a lot of negatives about RM and was a little apprehensive. My big worry was that the leather would feel plasticky or cheap. But it's very nice - certainly better than the price I paid would suggest. And I don't see any obvious places for performance failure (poorly attached handles, etc.)

I like that - other than the zipper - it has black hardware. I think that helps the bag look a little more expensive. IMG_6236.JPG The only two things I don't like are that the base of the bag is a little too unstructured so it could sag and the tassel hangs oddly when the shoulder strap is used. I'll just get a cheapy bag shaper or bag organizer for the sag and cut off the tassel and tie it through the handle hardware. Easy peasy!IMG_6240.jpg
And since I am loving @msd_bags new strap, I have to find one for this bag. I think it would be perfect to dress it up a bit. But, since the strap will likely cost more than the bag, I need to get one that will also work on my new Fendi and maybe even my black PS Small Courier. I don't think I have any other bags that would look good with a new strap.

So, anyway, this is a perfect carefree bag. I won't count it in my collection but I'll be very glad to have it when I need a bag that I can't baby. :happydance:

I'm headed to bed after metaphorically sitting on myself to stop me from buying another bag.

I neeeeeed to transfer my effort to the clothes reboot. But, geez, pretty bags call out to me. Maybe instead of hanging out on Purse Forum I need to find Clothes Forum. LOL! I'll take my Pause Peninsula stay a little bit at a time. I'm just going to chain myself in my crypt til I go on vacation to San Diego in July.

I can do this. :-s

I love it that you found a nice carefree bag! Of course RM is close to my heart!
Yes, straps may be relatively more expensive than the bag, lol! I got mine at 25% off but if you compare to the RM Isobel, strap would still be relatively pricey, but not when partnered with Fendi BTW. Hope you find your strap!

maybe you should get some accessories that would be new to you and keep your mind busy trying to create ways of integrating them into your wardrobe and by this help you stay focused on your clothes rather than bags??? Belt, scarves, big pendants... something that you can build your outfit around?....

I do need to distract myself. And something that would point to my wardrobe would be a good idea. But other then fine jewelry and sunnies, I don't really wear accessories. And I've bought most of the fine jewelry and al the sunnies I planned to buy this year.

I need a battle plan for my wardrobe like when I had my list of bags to buy. I tried to make a list of things I want / need starting with a capsule wardrobe. But I didn't find much on line to help since I prefer the foundation of my wardrobe to be dresses v separates.

But no excuses. I need to make a list. That will make shopping easier. Right now my wardrobe reboot just feels like I'm on a foggy road to somewhere. :confused1: I have 20% great pieces and 80% needs to go. But I can't be naked :oh: so I have to do this a little at a time.

are those 20% all shoes????
:biggrin::lol::giggle:
you can start slowly, imho, summer is the best time to do it - you keep a few simple tops for rotation and jeans + shorts and 1 or 2 summer dresses to sustain.
Pile up the rest and start separating them by groups - colours, brands, condition, etc, you know better, and then see which group is the first to attack.
When you start getting rid of old stuff and replacing by new, you might find the new ways of use your older pieces, working a lot better with something new you'll get.
i have a 'purgatory' chair, i pile stuff i am not sure about in it, and keep walking around for a week or two, after some time when my eyes are fresh i see clearly, if it stays or has to go. When we keep washing-wearing cycle we lose this freshness and just carry on using it, but if you take a break, then you see if it's worn, lost the shape or brightness, has some other small faults, in other words - does not spark joy any more... :flowers:
