Soooo...I'm back home and quite bag disgruntled.

1) I used my black YSL Small Monogram Cabas as my main bag for the travel I did Th - Sun. It was fully loaded several times. And this is what happened. :cursing:
View attachment 3670493 View attachment 3670494
BOTH of the handles came apart. The pins holding on the bar that keeps the handles attached "worked" their way out somehow. I am furious!!! I am careful with my bags and have NEVER had this kind of issue. Not with the cheapest bags or the most delicate. This is supposed to be my black "workhorse". I should be able to carry it fully loaded with no issues.

I bought it from Fashionphile 6 months ago so I can't take it to a boutique. So I'm going to try to find a cobbler to fix it. But with black hardware I'm concerned.

2) My sorority colors are salmon pink and apple green and I like to wear pink. So I wanted an apple green bag to wear to sorority functions now and again. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on what would be a "specialty" bag in my closet so I found an apple green suede Chanel bag at an insanely low sale price because it needs a little cleaning. Nothing major. It's just "grungy."

Well I contacted Leather Surgeons and they said they can't clean suede. Huh??? That shocks me. I'm going to contact a couple of other places and see what they say. If I can't find an option I'll return the bag (I have 30 days). But I'm disappointed. :hrmm: Finding an apple green bag that's pretty and at a low price is not an easy task. LOL!!!

So sorry about the cabas!
That just shouldn't happen after just 6months of use. I don't even know what to say!!! [emoji15] WTF! I really hope you can fix this

@Sparkletastic OMG that sucks! So sorry that happened. Even though you got it preloved, can you take it to a boutique and see if they can do a repair for you? Hopefully someone's able to help you fix it.

@vink @Sparkletastic - so funny you guys mentioned the trio because when I bought my red crossbody at Mango last year, it made me feel it really was their version of the trio and I had been keeping my eye out for a trio in a similar color. I checked out the bag irl at Holts and on a preloved site I DID see one in a similar shade of red but BECAUSE of the real flatness of the trio, I passed. While I love the way it looks, knew the slimness would drive me crazy. My Mango version has give at the base of each compartment so I can still fit things fine and have it still look compact, or really fill it with stuff haha. My only problem is, is that I know the Mango one will fall apart eventually and it's a bag I quite love to use, so was hoping to find one of better quality as a replacement. I'll just have to be more careful with it for now.

@ksuromax WOW, I'm amazed by your perfume collection!

Loving everyone's gray bags - there's so much variety in designers for this color, I love it!

Regarding the ideal number of bags, I currently own about 60 including clutches and I feel the ideal amount for me would be in the 25-30 range seeing how I have multiple bags in similar styles and even some duplicates, but right now, I'm really enjoying what I have and the ones I have duplicates in are ones I really love and are true workhorses so I rotate between them so I don't wear them out too fast; the ones in similar styles are the ones I'm thinking of letting go but there's a mix of contemporary/workhorses and premier so they each serve their own function, which makes it difficult. I'm going to take my time =)

My lone gray.

H Picotin Lock MM in etain. Petit h dolphin charm.

I use a MaiTai bag organizer inside of this one. The color is a chameleon, sometimes looking more taupe and sometimes more gray depending on the light.

I leave it locked when I am using it, and can easily get my things in and out of it. I do not think that I would use when traveling due to the open top, but find it to be very functional otherwise.
Gorgeous!

Could you take the Ysl to their boutique and pay to have it fixed?

Here are my greys - still travelling, took the picture beforehand...

Longchamp Shopping small with long handles, London Etui clutch ostrich style, Mulberry Bayswater Mole Grey Grainy Calf with soft gold hw, Liebeskind snakey Gina
Pretty greys

Afternoon ladies, lovely collection of bags as usual. Its lovely to see such versatile collections; there are some brands i've never looked at or considered but looking at pics from peoples collections has given me an appreciation of some styles [emoji4]

This is my addition to the grey theme

View attachment 3670183

1) Fendi 2jours (had it initialed)

2) Saint laurent small betty (its not an exact shade of grey, it falls slightly between grey and cream though it looks more cream in the pic)

3) Bottega Olimpia shoulder bag (another funny shade of grey I can't quite place)

My most used is the Fendi.

Thanks for letting me share [emoji4]
Love your Fendi!

Would anyone be interested in doing (yet another) bag project?

Since I'm supposed to be banned, and I need to be good to save for this house, I was thinking to pull out all my bags and just talk about why I bought that bag, why I like it so much, what was I celebrating when I bought it, etc.

Or would that be too weird? lol.

I just figured that some bags have a "story" of sorts. There's a reason why that some bags stay, no matter how many times a closet is cleaned.

OMG! I'm sorry it happen to you! [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33] I assume you lost the pin? I know you can't return it, but maybe you can contact them for parts?

A pin for my zipper head on my wide horn also fell out when I first got my bag. Luckily I found it. I was on a trip and can't return it right away, plus, it's a duty free buy so I had to contact the boutique which isn't really accommodating. So, I screw the Lin back tightly, with a glue inserted in the screw part. I learn this trick from a cobbler years ago. It never comes out.

Maybe you could contact them for the problem? Maybe they can do something for you, like supplying the parts? Wish you luck on that. This is seriously shouldn't happen.

I adore your Picotin. I tried it on in a bright blue, but DBF didn't approve of it since it was only handheld. :(
So I'll have to adore from afar! Please post more pictures of your adorable Picotin!
Thanks, bake! I actually like the hand held option with this bag. I can put both straps over my shoulder too, although this option works better without the insert.

I am not sure how active a participant I would be on the bag review and stories project, but I would definitely enjoy hearing yours and those of others who might want to do this.
Gorgeous!
Thanks!

@Sparkletastic Your YSL handle coming apart is very annoying. I hope that a good cobbler can fix it to your satisfaction. I hope you can find someone to clean the suede Chanel too.

That's a lovely idea. [emoji4] I think we can do that.

But don't you all sick of my stories? I talked about them a lot last year during the project. [emoji28]

You'll definitely love the Verona! It's so grainy and wow! Spongy? It feels really good to touch. I love it! And dark blue is very pretty. I feel sad I order it for a smaller bag. If I know it feels like this, I'd have ordered it in something bigger just so I can have a lot more of it to feel. It's definitely a good leather. [emoji4]
Your description makes me even more excited!! I was not happy with the Navy pebbled because it lacked color saturation, so I hope this dark blue will be the right blue! In looking at pictures online, I seem to think the Verona leather has the same grain as the leather of the MCM Millas?

Love your grey collection, especially the BV!!

It would be fascinating to know how many everyone considers to be the right number of bags & purses and how many is too many??
I have come to realize that the "right number" differs for everyone. For me, if I count everything (including Longchamp Le Pliage which I don't normally use as a fashion handbag), I have close to 50. About 30ish are everyday bags. 30+ is still a lot for me in theory. But in reality, I love the variety. But if I should target, I think I would want to limit my everyday bags to 20.

My contribution to Grey would be my Balenciage City in Gris Ciment, my only grey bag. I love the colour as it's so pale, grey doesn't really suit me but I can get away with this one

Only one grey bag but so beautiful!!

Was so bad today! Bought this backpack and a new Tumi rfid wallet.
What brand is this backpack? Leather looks yummy! I sometimes get tempted to have a leather backpack in my collection, but deep down I know that it will be rarely used.

Ohhh!! I'll keep it a secret, too, over on the Massaccesi thread. Your first Angelica? I think you will like her. I have just one. Trying to be good and be satisfied with the one I have.
My first Angelica, though I ordered one for a friend last year, so I've seen it IRL. I think yours is in Tuscania? I'm scared to try that leather because I don't like glazed generally and the veiny look may be too much for what I want. I abstained from ordering during Lent, and right on Easter, I ordered, lol!

Spark, so sorry about the Cabas! So YSL quality isn't really there huh? For what it's worth, I really liked this bag!!
