adore all the greys! I tried to quote everyone to comment individually but it keeps getting cut off!
I'd love to add more grey to my collection, but I've gotta be good.

As far as the numerical limit to my bags, my limit is 30. I have 25 at the moment, with 2 on the chopping block. But I feel 30 would fit in my closet with a little tetris. Any more and it won't fit. lol.

Thank you for all the well wishes, life is getting overwhelming again, just as it seems to have settled.

It's about 10 for me, although I know a lot of tpfers wouldn't think that was anywhere near enough  it's going to be different for everyone I think

I've seen a lot of posts on the "10-bag capsule" and I originally thought that would be easily achievable as I'm not one to need a bag for every outfit...but I was wrong. My world ranges from dusty hikes with dogs to developing-world photo trips sleeping in mud huts to everyday casual office to power meeting to date night...etc. ...plus travel. I'm at just under 20 bags now, which includes some collectibles that I don't really wear, and I'd like to cut down to fifteen or so.
Too many? I can't judge others. For me, over 20, but if you saw my shoes you'd judge me :p

I've just got down to below 30 and I'm really trying to get to 25 by the end if the year. In my defence I injured my foot some years ago dancing and I can't wear my fabulous shoes anymore. I kept a few pairs of the real specials & sone dance shoes but all I can do is drool over them in the cupboard.......... so I made up for it on the bags

I agree with you QF there are so many different aspects to my life too, so many things going on and different types of bags required. My job has also just changed and now I've far more time to travel which has added a couple of different requirement :confused1: I do have 2/3 I can't bear to part with but just don't use. That's why I definitely believe 30 is too many as the bottom of the favourites don't get any outings as much as you love them, they are at the bottom of the pile

Who thought figuring out handbags could be so complicated sometimes?! Now you know why you couldn't get why everyone else likes the Penelope messenger so much.

I had a similar revelation. I couldn't get why everyone else likes the Selene so much either (forgive us, ladies, for talking shop with the Massaccesi speak). After many months, it dawned on me why. I just don't like tote bags as my main handbag. I realized it one day when I pulled out what I call a "regular handbag" in leather and then packed a NYLON "tote bag" to schlep my other stuff around.

Yes. And this is why I really want to try Juliet. It can be carried by hand and has long strap. If made with slouchy leather and in the right size, it should be a nice satchel. [emoji848] But it look freakin big right now. So I'm still holding my order.

I am sure plenty of TPFers have way more than 30 though.

Ohhh!! I'll keep it a secret, too, over on the Massaccesi thread. Your first Angelica? I think you will like her. I have just one. Trying to be good and be satisfied with the one I have.

Your cobblestone is gorgeous! I'm so envy you, but I already ordered mine in something else, which I hope I'd like the end result. But yours is gorgeous. [emoji1360][emoji1360]

Ooooh I love that Choo!
Thank you. I love it so much! It's one of my favorite bags in my collection. I repeatedly have to stop myself from buying the black one. But I struggle with finding things in my unstructured bags. So I tell myself no.
Great grey collection!
Thank you.
I am loving the mixed chains on the Jimmy Choo and the beautiful Chanel grays!
Thanks!
Oh wow! You must do a group pic with all your chanels; i'm sure they are a sight to behold [emoji7]
That's very nice of you to say. I "only" have 8 Chanel items which make me very happy but is a teeny collection in TPF standards. LOL!
Now that you mention Celine, yeah... I see your point now. I never think of the it before. And now I understand why I don't really understand the rave about it. I never understand the rave about the Trio as well. Stuff will budge out and it holds so little. It also remind me of pouches that's sold at flea market, but of course, the Celine version is much sleeker and offer a neat vibe. Still, it looks like envelopes sewn together to me. At least, the MM version has width in the bottom and can hold stuff. [emoji848]

Yeah.... I don't like bags that's flat. I don't like people to see what I put in my bag or to guess what's in there from the budging out. I now understand why. [emoji4]
Thank you so much! [emoji4]
I had the same thought about the Celine trio - envelopes stuck together. Typically I don't do well will divided bags. I need one compartment so my bulkier items like a sunglasses case fit comfortably. And, I also don't like my items to push out the sides of a bag. It ruins the shape of the bag to me.
But, on the other extreme, I don't like super rigid bags like framed pocketbooks. Those drive me batty. They feel so unforgiving and typically don't fit my style.
It would be fascinating to know how many everyone considers to be the right number of bags & purses and how many is too many??
I think this is so individual. Some people are minimalist. Some people are happy collecting bag after bag that they don't even use. So, I don't think there is a "right" number that would work for everyone (or even most people).

My bags are functional pieces of fashion that I use to compliment / enhance my outfit. So I need a good variety of bags. I have 23 bags in my "main" collection which are the bags I use 95% of the time. I also have 11 bags for special usages (beach bags, evening bags, carefree bags, etc.) so I limit but don't really count those. Over the next 5 years or so I plan to grown my main collection to approx. 30 bags give or take because I want variety but I refuse to own bags I don't wear regularly. And, I can't keep more than 30ish bags rotated effectively. Sometimes I struggle with 23.

Reactions: More bags
Soooo...I'm back home and quite bag disgruntled.

1) I used my black YSL Small Monogram Cabas as my main bag for the travel I did Th - Sun. It was fully loaded several times. And this is what happened. :cursing:
IMG_2849.JPG IMG_2850.JPG
BOTH of the handles came apart. The pins holding on the bar that keeps the handles attached "worked" their way out somehow. I am furious!!! I am careful with my bags and have NEVER had this kind of issue. Not with the cheapest bags or the most delicate. This is supposed to be my black "workhorse". I should be able to carry it fully loaded with no issues.

I bought it from Fashionphile 6 months ago so I can't take it to a boutique. So I'm going to try to find a cobbler to fix it. But with black hardware I'm concerned.

2) My sorority colors are salmon pink and apple green and I like to wear pink. So I wanted an apple green bag to wear to sorority functions now and again. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on what would be a "specialty" bag in my closet so I found an apple green suede Chanel bag at an insanely low sale price because it needs a little cleaning. Nothing major. It's just "grungy."
IMG_2866.jpg
Well I contacted Leather Surgeons and they said they can't clean suede. Huh??? That shocks me. I'm going to contact a couple of other places and see what they say. If I can't find an option I'll return the bag (I have 30 days). But I'm disappointed. :hrmm: Finding an apple green bag that's pretty and at a low price is not an easy task. LOL!!!

My lone gray.

H Picotin Lock MM in etain. Petit h dolphin charm.

I use a MaiTai bag organizer inside of this one. The color is a chameleon, sometimes looking more taupe and sometimes more gray depending on the light.

I leave it locked when I am using it, and can easily get my things in and out of it. I do not think that I would use when traveling due to the open top, but find it to be very functional otherwise.

I adore your Picotin. I tried it on in a bright blue, but DBF didn't approve of it since it was only handheld. :(
So I'll have to adore from afar! Please post more pictures of your adorable Picotin!
