Haha nothing is permanent when it comes to DH's work, so we've learnt to roll with it. Would be good if we can make it work for at least a few years in Singapore though. My MIL has offered to store some things in her basement so we will probably box up some of the gear and mail it across the country. Pricey but at least it beats renting storage. But I don't really want to clutter her place too much also.

Thank you!

That's what I was thinking too. If we come back, it will be a pain having to buy all these things again. Yeah I think I will end up taking some of my things with me. The really arctic stuff I will send to my in laws and I will keep the gear suitable for milder winters. I will just have to make up excuses to go for "winter getaways". Your Burberry coat sounds like a great buy, that really is what an investment piece should be.

If you don't know if it's permanent, I think you really should keep some. [emoji6] Pack them well so they will stay well. [emoji6]

Yes. That coat is one of my best buys. [emoji4]

Maybe take one with you and leave the rest in the storage. If you take a trip, you need one immediately when you arrive. [emoji6]

Shopping my closet today. (Cuz I totally passed up an MCM tote and AW bucket bag at the rack when I went to look for bday gifts)

I bought this charm years ago and never wore it because it would be hard to find a bag to put it on.

Bought inexpensive clips to attach on the charm and now it's easy to put on a bag.

Charm is Vivienne Westwood on my LV DA speedy 25 [emoji4]

What's everyone carrying for this weekend?

Can I see the clip? I have some charms that's hard to put on either. [emoji4]

I'm on a trip. Using the RaviRavi shoulder bag for a change. I want to figure something out about this bag so... plus, my mom just ask me the other day that she's never seen me using it. [emoji29]

They both lovely!

These are both beautiful, versatile black bags!

Love black bags and yours are so pretty!
Thank you! And to the rest who like them as well. I guess I shouldn't be surprised seeing so many black bags you ladies have. No matter the style of the bag, they always have a black option!

Thanks! I'm so sorry you had an unpleasant experience with an LV SA! I like the crossbody option but honestly won't use it that much with this particular bag. I love the texture of the epi and the low key aspect of this bag so it was a must have for me.
It wasn't super unpleasant, but I just felt that the SA was just standing there and seemed a bit disinterested. I have seen more attentive SAs and this one just came across as 'blah'. :sweatdrop: Yes, I do agree that the Epi Speedy is definitely more low-key, compared to other LV bags I've seen in this forum. But I guess I'm also missing the point, perhaps Boston style bags are better off carried by hand (looks better), but cross-body is really useful for me.

Keep the Lucrezia, she's stunning [emoji76]
Lol. Ok, maybe I will use it again to see if it's a keeper or goner.

Good luck on your move Sora!! I think it is best to have with you 1 or 2 of these winter coats and other cold climate stuff as you may have to travel any time. Best to keep some handy! I use the extra room closet for some of my cold place stuff. And sometimes, I think to myself, if I live in those small condos, how can I fit all my stuff? My travel things alone are too many!

Here are my black bags. I have an outstanding special order and then I am DONE. Feels so good. I LOVE and use every one of these bags.

I like everything in your collection!!

Earlier today at church during the Easter mass, I again saw this young lady who a few weeks ago was wearing a AMcQueen Padlock bag with pretty embellished guitar strap. Today she was using a black Chanel caviar flap. I thought to myself, can I exchange all my bags (but for 2 or 3 maybe) for 1 Chanel flap?? I think I would not be happy because I will certainly look for variety!

I went to my hometown for the Holy Week observance. My main bag was my red Massaccesi midi Minerva which, based on the ticks on my list, has been a relatively much used bag. It's like a shoulder tote/hobo, not my main style, but it surely works for me!! I actually wanted to share this observation when Bake asked about our recent bag thoughts - that a bag may not be in the style we most favor, but it could be a favorite!

I also brought the small Blue Longchamp with me and it was right for the beach there in the province !! I didn't get to dip in the pool or the beach though because I just had my hair treated at the salon, don't want to get the conditioning treatment out in just a week! [emoji4]

You need your variety MSD!
Don't ever trade your vast collection just for one bag. You could certainly add that black caviar flap, but that one bag certainly isn't worth more than the others that you have.

I've had that thought too. One bag. One uber premiere or bespoke bag.

No. Way. Imagine? That one bag to work, parties, weekend? An insane thought for the bag enthusiast.

One bag for everything will definitely not be fun!! [emoji4]

I, now, live a very casual lifestyle, so I can actually stay in one bag for weeks or months, but I'd say I choose variety in my collection, too. It doesn't matter to have 5 or 50. Just that I know I have bags that I can change to make it suit the occasion best.

This brings me to something I recently saw in the forum. There was a girl who ask if she should get one bag that she likes, but already have it in other pattern or a Chanel flap.

The response or anything wouldn't be so interesting if not for the fact that many just replied "Chanel" just because it's Chanel.

I mean, really? I can understand if your reason is that she already has that other bag in other pattern or that Chanel may increase the price soon. But just because it's Chanel shouldn't be enough reason to make you buy. It's a bag. What if it doesn't look good on you? What if it's not practical for your life? Or what if you don't really like it that much? Shouldn't you rather get the bag you love better than just getting it for the brand on it? Maybe I'm too old. Or I don't understand people enough. [emoji20]

Suiting the occasion would mean more than one bag, maybe a minimal collection of two?

But I'm also amazed you can stay in one bag.

Does carrying one bag have you more inclined to stop buying bags or let go of bags? Or does it keep you content, and the amount isn't going to change?

It makes me appreciate each one of mine more. Also, I learn more about myself, what I like in each bag or what I need in my bag for general, and the nature of that bag. I don't know if it'll help with not-buying, but it certainly help if I'm thinking about getting rid of that one bag.

Some people do buy because it's by a certain brand.

Some people believe the brand hierarchy and that one brand vs another is better, whatever their view of better is. So it doesn't matter the item in question, if it's from the "higher" up brands, go for that item.

And that's because there's this idea of "investment items."

Chanel flaps. Hermes B & K. LV icons.

Get those over anything else because it's a better investment.

So when people post x vs y and y is part of the big three popular brands, the big three will always win. And amongst the big three the most expensive will win.

For investment. Exclusivity. Classic/staple.

Not going to lie, I was heavily influenced by this when beginning to buy the more expensive bags. I own the LV icons. The classic black Chanel flap. Now that that's "done", I feel I kinda don't care as much now that I know these aren't investments and not exclusive.

Unfortunately is a hard mindset to get out of.
X Longhamps = LV something.
LV is a better item should I need to resell, it's more of a classic, thus better investment.

Which is stupid. [emoji28] so I try to focus on buying whatever I want.

That's all good stuff to know.

Good food for thought for anyone on a ban or really needing to figure out what to do with the collection!

@vink

I bought a bunch of these clips on eBay.
Some don't match the hardware of the charm but it's so small you don't really notice it.

Some luggage tags don't fit on it as well, but most do.

This allows me to change charms easily now.

Since a resolution was to use the entire collection of charms and twillies, doing whatever it takes to make it easier to switch out will help. Before I only had one, and I would have to take the charm off the clip, then put the new one.
