Congrats on your sales! That's such good news.

If you decide to meet the person from FB, do it in a neutral place, away from your car, and make it a cash transaction. But you probably already knew that!

Tell us about the Mirabeau. What color is it? Is it a color, size, shape, leather type you already own? What makes it special? Do you REALLY need it? Are you desperate to have it in your closet? Is it keeping you awake at night? (Shall I go on? I can do more of this...:amuse:)

Thanks Elaine! The sales motivate me to list more. And I'll meet the person at a police station. I read that's the safest for in person transactions from online sales. Thanks for trying to keep me safe!!!

The Mirabeau. <sigh> I like having structured, go to, workhorse bags. In doing my collection purge, those were the first to go and now are the last to replace. So I have an itch. The bag would fit all my things including my new laptop if I get the GM. It's sturdy, has (relatively) undercover branding, looks good arm carry but has an optional strap. It's also (relatively) inexpensive resale. All things I want.

I like the black but it also comes in prune which is sorta burgundy and could check my burgundy workhorse box. Also, it would allow me to have another bag to fit the use of my YSL so both would get regular wear but not get worn out. This kind of reason is why I had purchased the MK Geneva that didn't work out. I wanted two black workhorses to bounce between.

But I don't need it. I'm not even close to desperate for it. And I could get it a year from now. So no reason to buy now. And I can likely find a better Bordeaux bag.

The only bag that keeps me up at night is the silver Diorama for which I would gladly trade a kidney and maybe even part of a spleen if I could be assured it wouldn't peel.

I just need to wait. <sad panda face> I don't need it. It's not rare so I don't have to grab the last one now. I think I can get myself to wait by using my list. I'll use a tick for every time I would use the Mirabueau instead of another. If I do get a lot of ticks I'll feel good buying it. But I suspect I won't. I have bags I can use that I love right now.

Here are photos from google. For both colors, I greatly prefer the regular epi not the electric for this bag. IMG_9518.JPG IMG_9520.JPG

Epi gets heavy quickly specially if you have a lap top in it. I don't think it would be comfortable, but it is lovely. I prefer the black too.

Hahaha. On the reverse, I can easily name a bag of mine that is the right bag for certain events but doesn't spark joy. I keep it because it has a purpose. But, maybe it is a filler for now? I guess the time will come when I will find a bag that both will serve a purpose and spark joy.
I had / have those bags and am slowly but surely getting rid of every last one of them. The only bags I'd be willing to keep that don't spark joy is luggage and interestingly I love my main luggage. set. So much so that I'm putting up with it being heavy and inconvenient (it's about 10 years old so it's not build with the lighter materials, spinning wheels, etc.)

The bags that aren't as joy sparking are
• My 2 silver bags - bought too soon to fill the silver metallic gap so I didn't really spend the time to get the right one.
• My evening bag - I don't like spending a lot on evening bags. I almost love the one I have though so it's fine for now. Ultimately I would like to get 2 very special Judith leiber bags. Well, I would if she makes any I like that larger than a postage stamp.
• My backpack - a cheapy from Target. Zero joy sparks. But I haven't sent a functional, sturdy backpack for travel that I like. I see very attractive fashion ones that are really just a style of purse that are gorgeous. But the functional ones aren't very good looking at all.
• My new Knomo laptop bag (whoops!). Now this conversation is making me wonder if I should return it and hunt one that sparks joy.

The backpack and laptop bag aren't in my collection. They fall into the functional luggage category. So I don't worry so much about them.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up! I wish bags came described with weight. I have been interested in buying bags and sellers balk at giving me weight. Boutique Patina (well known Chanel seller on eBay) wouldn't even acknowledge or return several messages I sent her requesting weight on a tote I was interested in.

#3 in January: the Bays I missed when visiting my parents. The last two days I still carried the Peekaboo and a black LC Le Pliage with long handles for an overnight stay. Peekaboo is now in its dustbag for the first time since I got it in November! (Dear me, auto correction wrote "dustbin" - better not!)

I have 25 bags right now. But Only 6-7 of them are what I need right now, and another 4-5 are good evening purses, so a good dozen are just waiting for their moment in my someday future to be of any use again, and remembering our single gal globe trotting adventures of 2009-2011 when they were bought (and I had no kids young enough to need diapers or being carried on my person....in 2-3 more years I'll be done with grad school & also in a similar position again, kid-wise (hopefully not divorced though!) so maybe I will use them then....?).

This I can relate too. I don't know the number I have :gasps: but I have my pre-baby life bags and now the ones I use in rotation. The pre-babies are more precious and sumptuous, while the ones I use today tend to be all leather or canvas, not much detailing, or just contemporary that I got for a song so I wear without fear.

I too have kept my long ago lovelies somewhere special and they do spark joy, but I don't want to damage. I also typically buy classic bags, so I don't worry if they fall out of trend, and if they do, I only care if I love them truly.

I truly love this! A Bay was on my wish list 10 years ago and I think some day it might need to be reality. Truly beautiful!

OMG bake! You just reminded me of something! I did some crocheting about 5 years ago. Being the true bag lover that I am, I made myself a bag!!! LOL Yes, it's crazy!

Sorry, but I have to post this. (Disclaimer for the keen eye: I'm a beginner at crochet  )

For the strap, I decided to use one of my leather belts that I really love but don't want to use or get rid of, lol. My co-workers all said it was too thick for the bag. I LOVED the thick strap. I told them that it makes it super comfy to carry the bag. Fast forward to today... Thick straps are everywhere!!!

Ok, here are some pics... I won't be offended if anyone laughs at my masterpiece. I'm just happy I finished the whole thing...oh yes fully lined with my signature inside. This will stay in my collection forever!:lol:

I'm with you on the thick straps! It is good to be proud of your own work. Looks like a fun bag to use. =D
