I am plunging back into this thread (and the forum) after a messy 2016. In 2016, I switched jobs and moved and developed some complicated medical issues relating to my spine. I bought way too many purses in 2016 and want to go through my collection and get rid of the purses and SLGs that really do not work for me. This will be a bit tricky as I am still in the process of moving and I do not have all of my purses and SLGs in my current location. But, I am hopefully going to finish moving soon and then I can really focus and figure out what is staying in my collection and what I still want to add. So, I am going to try and develop my goals throughout the month of January.

For the first and second day in January, I've been carrying my Shinola Relaxed Hobo in Navy, which I love and has been a great addition to my collection.

Looking forward to a great 2017!

I'm so sorry to hear about your spinal issues. I hope you are doing much better now.

Welcome back!!

Love this. I actually have been searching for this in a burgundy or grey. So pretty.
Thanks! Not sure I've seen a grey one but I think there was burgundy with some exotic print on the flap, if I recall correctly.
Why is it that there are bags that really give us joy when we actually carry them, but which are not among our top choices when picking what to wear for the day? I've pondered on this thought a lot of times and I still don't have a clear response in my head.

And Spark, way to go on listing your items!! Goodluck on your sales!

Sorry to hear about your health. I hope it gets full recovery soon. [emoji4]

That's such an excellent question! My Fendi By The Way bag (that's part of my 3 in 31 this month) is an example of this. I adore the bag, but I don't think to reach for it. And then when I carry it, it makes me super happy. So why don't I reach for it more often? :whut:

Like Spark last year, I am going to look for my workhorse black bag this year. Last night, this caught my eye online (actually the one with silver hardware). A Dolce&Gabbaba bag. This is the style I really want. Anyone with experience on this brand? This is in pebbled leather. I saw another website that carries it in the large size. The big but - the large weighs 3.5 lbs! So I don't know about this small/medium version.

Great to see you again. Sorry to hear about your spine - is it on the mend? Looking forward to cheering you on in 2017! and hope you finish your move soon =)

Thanks! I am still in the process of figuring out what will happen with my spine in the future. So far, I've learned that there will be some permanent damage, but that I should be able to get more range of movement and less pain over time. So, I am looking forward to making progress with that. For purses, this means that I will have to be very conscious of the weight of my purses and avoid too much weight to help me avoid pain.

Bag #2 for 15 in 31. Marc Jacobs 1984 in Terra Cotta. See the handle imprint on the leather? Just goes to show she's been in storage for some time! I really feel special when I wear this bag, I don't know why I rarely choose it though. Maybe I used it just 2x in 2016. She's not even broken in yet (got it preloved in excellent condition).

Gorgeous! I love the classic lines!

So sorry to hear about your spinal issues, lvdreamer. I've had low back problems in the back, and I know it is no fun AT ALL.
Are you better now, or is the problem ongoing?

The problem is ongoing, but I'm hopeful that my daily pain level will go down and stay down soon. Thanks!

Welcome back! May this be the year of healing and happiness for you.

Thanks!

Hoping you well both health wise and bag wise.

Thanks!

Great to "see you" again, lvdreamer! Sorry to hear that 2016 wasn't the best for you and that you had medical/spine issues.

Hoping that 2017 is better.

Thanks!

Wow! Now I am remembering that this thread really moves quickly. I am trying to keep up.

New year, same bag that I finished 2016 with.
I was happy that I managed to take a pic with a boat in the background. [emoji3]

Love your Herbag! And the background is TDF!

I'm so sorry to hear about your spinal issues. I hope you are doing much better now.

Welcome back!!

Thanks! Looking forward to getting my life back under control. And congrats on posting so many purses for sale! It's inspirational to see others making progress.

Sorry to hear about your health. I hope it gets full recovery soon. [emoji4]

Thanks!

the only bags I want right now are preloved ones but the condition I've set myself is that I need to let go of more first so I can enjoy these preloved ones that will come in in the future. For now though, I'm enjoying what I own so it's great that I'm not in a rush to find preloved ones.

i look at my bags at times and then a smile covers my face haha. Then my dh laughs at me lol. There are several bags I've identified to test and let go of if I decide to let any go, and those will fund my preloved ones that I have my eyes on.

These are gorgeous! The coach is so beautiful and I love the shade of red. I've wondered about the leather baggu bags - I just have the reusable ones but have never had the chance to see a leather one irl. Do they wear well? Yours looks great!
thanks for posting this! Good to know how much can fit since I often over pack haha

gorgeous!

welcome!!! We're here to help and cheer you on!

i do that too lol

wow these are gorgeous and especially when grouped together. The colours really pop out. I love the fendi!!! Your Alexa is beautiful, it's one of my preloved bags I want to search for, and of course the color on the mj is always beautiful.

Oooh, can you share a before and after spa pic? I'd love to see how spas are able to deal with transfer.
awesome line up!

Welcome! Your post reminds me so much of where I was when I first joined tpf. It wasn't until I had the bags I needed for function that I was able to stop buying and I think you're getting there! There will always be temptation but I found if I had the bag already that works, I was much better able to control actually buying it. It also took me a really long time to bring myself to use all my bags, so I took that as a huge win! And I still have bags from years ago that I can't bring myself to sell because I love them every time I see them :) you can do this! We're here for you!

I love my Baggu! I got it second hand so some distress was a gift with purchase. It weighs nothing and takes a major beating (milk puffed at the bottom of the bag), and no stress of seams even though I add so much.

The inner pocket did come off the rivets, but was not noted it was halfway gone when I received from seller.

Ladies I don't know why this is the case. I love my Blue Miss Dior and rarely carry her. I think it's because she's lamb and I worry about getting her messed up. By then I love my Monika Chiang pony bucket too and haven't carried her once this fall / winter.
I think we get in bag ruts. I'm glad the thread is helping us rotate. I think I'll take Ms. Pony Bucket out tomorrow.

Ooooh. I like it. I haven't had any experience with D&G but I would expect they'd be good quality.

Good news! I sold the wallet, necklace and bracelet I posted already! :yahoo:And someone from Facebook wants to meet me tomorrow to buy one of the inexpensive bags. I've never done that before so I'll have to think about it. I'd rather ship it than meet.

This isn't a lot of money but it's a start to refunding my play money account. Now if one of these expensive bags can just sell quickly too!

I talked myself out of the colorful Lady Dior. But the Mirabeau is still on my mind. Someone talk me out of it please!

Congrats on your sales! That's such good news.

If you decide to meet the person from FB, do it in a neutral place, away from your car, and make it a cash transaction. But you probably already knew that!

Tell us about the Mirabeau. What color is it? Is it a color, size, shape, leather type you already own? What makes it special? Do you REALLY need it? Are you desperate to have it in your closet? Is it keeping you awake at night? (Shall I go on? I can do more of this...:amuse:)
