Great goals. What is your HG?

LOL! The funny thing for me is my black does go with a lot in my wardrobe and I still feel I need to "round out" my Chanel collection and "snap up" the single flaps before they're gone. Any excuse to get the bags we want, right?
Of course anything to rationalize our purse obsession. Admitting it is the first step

I've never seen this style! I love the accent on the right! Makes it so unique!
I think it was a limited release... I only saw it in a couple of places. The right-hand corner is actually made out of multiple pieces of leather, overlapping. Makes it really fun to carry, and I can't BELIEVE that I haven't carried it since last March! That's why I like using checklists, but it also tells me that I really ought to take the time to switch out my bags more often.

Is anyone else here like me, swapping out a full-sized bag only once a week? (Not counting a clutch bag or mini bag for a special event, of course.)
Or am I the only lazy one? :annoyed:

OMG bake! You just reminded me of something! I did some crocheting about 5 years ago. Being the true bag lover that I am, I made myself a bag!!! LOL Yes, it's crazy!

Sorry, but I have to post this. (Disclaimer for the keen eye: I'm a beginner at crochet  )

For the strap, I decided to use one of my leather belts that I really love but don't want to use or get rid of, lol. My co-workers all said it was too thick for the bag. I LOVED the thick strap. I told them that it makes it super comfy to carry the bag. Fast forward to today... Thick straps are everywhere!!!

Ok, here are some pics... I won't be offended if anyone laughs at my masterpiece. I'm just happy I finished the whole thing...oh yes fully lined with my signature inside. This will stay in my collection forever!:lol:

What a super cute bag! And the strap is perfect with it! I'm a knitter, but I've never been able to master crochet. I think you did a great job!

!!Caution, long post!!

Today I put all my bags into an excel sheet and sorted them by buying date. It reads like a diary of a journey.
I have to say that I started rather late buying bags, I was already in my late 30s. Before that I used to have all my stuff in my jeans pockets, lol.

So, I only have 25 bags, but since I always love to cleanout this feels massively cluttered to me. Thus, I plan to reassess the bags in chronological order.

My oldest bags in the list are from 2005-2010, and they are all from my first brand love. BREE is a local (German) brand. It is a privately owned company founded in 1969 that used to be high quality. However, a few years ago they started to replace parts of their production from Germany to Eastern Europe and eventually to China. Although I know that some of their bags are still made in Germany (and you can see and feel the quality difference of the different lines) somehow the brand lost it on me. I was so disappointed by this move.

I already sold quite a lot of their bags. I still have 6 left.
Of those, I just listed two and decided to keep four.
- Two bucket bags (identical but different sizes) that are made from thin Vachetta leather (somehow they achieved to have it paper-thin, the company always experimented a lot with material). I am just sentimental about these two bags, I use them not as a bag but as sort of storage containers in my closet.

- Two shopping totes that are handmade in Germany and that come from a special collaboration with a Turkish designer, one in white, one in yellow. I am using both of them.

If I would be very strict, I would sell one of each I guess. Maybe 2018. :D

Down on 23 and counting. ;)

Thanks for letting me share.
i use Stylebook but I also use a detailed excel sheet that tracks style, brand, price, when I got it and how many time I use it per year. I started tracking like that in 2014 and I found when I was able to see all the stats at one time it made it easier to focus on what I had. I love the bags u posted! The flat totes are gorgeous!

here's my list with pix, i picked the core ones for work and a few to use more often (or move them on later if they don't make me happy any longer) plus a few smaller ones for light/dressy days :) Day one was a stay-in but i loaded my new BV hobo and made her ready for use, so carrying it today on Day 2 :)
Good luck with your challenges everyone!

these are lovely!!

this is just such a a cool bag, I love it. So unique looking!

First bag of the year - ice blue Le Pliage. I purchased this last January and used it a lot during the year but somehow still forgot that I had it - I found it in the entryway closet yesterday when DH cleaned it out. Today was rainy, and I expect we'll have many more rainy (snowy?) days so I had to do a Le Pliage as one of my three.

this is fantastic!! I think it's really adorable!

My 2017 Goals:
1. Give some TLC to a couple of my LV bags.
2. Keep saving towards my HG bag and not get side tracked. No impulse buying.
3. Rotation, not carrying the same bag all the time.
great goals. What is your hg?

when I'm working I just stick to one bag for a few weeks . I used to change daily when I was younger but i just get too tired by the time I get home and if the bag is working it saves me from having to figure out the flow of use in the next one? Kwim? Each bag has a different way we get in and out of it, where we put certain items and sometimes when I switch bags and that routine is disrupted I get annoyed lol.

I change every day to compliment my outfit. Sometimes twice a day if I'm going out in he evening.

I am plunging back into this thread (and the forum) after a messy 2016. In 2016, I switched jobs and moved and developed some complicated medical issues relating to my spine. I bought way too many purses in 2016 and want to go through my collection and get rid of the purses and SLGs that really do not work for me. This will be a bit tricky as I am still in the process of moving and I do not have all of my purses and SLGs in my current location. But, I am hopefully going to finish moving soon and then I can really focus and figure out what is staying in my collection and what I still want to add. So, I am going to try and develop my goals throughout the month of January.

For the first and second day in January, I've been carrying my Shinola Relaxed Hobo in Navy, which I love and has been a great addition to my collection.

Looking forward to a great 2017!

Great to see you again. Sorry to hear about your spine - is it on the mend? Looking forward to cheering you on in 2017! and hope you finish your move soon =)

Bag #2 for 15 in 31. Marc Jacobs 1984 in Terra Cotta. See the handle imprint on the leather? Just goes to show she's been in storage for some time! I really feel special when I wear this bag, I don't know why I rarely choose it though. Maybe I used it just 2x in 2016. She's not even broken in yet (got it preloved in excellent condition).
