Maybe the solution (not the answer) is for us to have less bags? :confused1::flowers:
Sigh. This is probably true!
BLASPHEMY! :panic: I'm going to pretend these words weren't spoken. :wtf:

I think we need to have the right bags. That may mean more or less depending on the person and their collection. We need to get rid of the comfy, filler, almost right bags and only have bags that we just must to wear.

I also think we just need to get out of our ruts. It's easy for me to carry my black YSL. But I need to see how other bags are just as (or more) enjoyable and useful to carry.

Hahaha. On the reverse, I can easily name a bag of mine that is the right bag for certain events but doesn't spark joy. I keep it because it has a purpose. But, maybe it is a filler for now? I guess the time will come when I will find a bag that both will serve a purpose and spark joy.

I have 25 bags right now. But Only 6-7 of them are what I need right now, and another 4-5 are good evening purses, so a good dozen are just waiting for their moment in my someday future to be of any use again, and remembering our single gal globe trotting adventures of 2009-2011 when they were bought (and I had no kids young enough to need diapers or being carried on my person....in 2-3 more years I'll be done with grad school & also in a similar position again, kid-wise (hopefully not divorced though!) so maybe I will use them then....?).

Ok. I kept my promise. I listed 3 bags and 2 pieces of costume jewelry on 4 different sites. :annoyed: (Nothing was expensive enough for Vestiare)

So listing totals so far: 7 handbags, 1 wallet and 2 costume items.

Tomorrow my goal is to list the watch, 3 pair of sunnies and 2 more bags. Then Wed, the remaining 4 bags. That way all my purgatory bags, all the sunnies and some extras will be listed. I'll work on the furs, some of the clothes and the rest of the jewelry when I get back. I'm writing this down in my Evernote so I remember.

This is awful. This punishment is making me really committed to ONLY buying what I will keep. I hate this. :yucky:
I hate selling stuff too. You are doing great listing all the stuff.

HopelessBagGirl, of the dozen bags that are not being used, are there some that you really don't see ever using again? [emoji6] If there are classics that would be expensive or difficult to replace, I would say keep those. But often the style on contemporary designer bags just doesn't stand the test of time.

If there are some bags that you could sell now, you could buy a bag or 2 or more that suit your needs right now. [emoji3]

@thedseer posted something that really resonated with me. She said that she did not have a bag museum. This helped me decide to leave a bag up for sale. I was going to pull it because it will be hard if not impossible to replace and I am/was keeping it for sentimental reasons. If I never use it though, what's the point? I can keep the memories without keeping the bag.

These are just thoughts I had after reading your post. It may not be right for you, to let go of the dozen or so bags you are not currently using.
