I just barely kept myself from buying one of three bags I was looking at. What stopped me was knowing I want to shop during my upcoming vacation, doing a little more research on the bags and - most of all - knowing I'd have to come back here with a rogue bag & my year goals in disarray. :frown:

The temptation was that I like / am intrigued by these models and they were each on super low discount. A sale is like catnip to me. :cray:

So, I'm curious. What is your biggest temptation - a sale, seeing a bag in it's perfect setting in a boutique, news of your favorite brand's latest seasonal offerings, getting a large lump sum of money in or...?

Nothing's more a of a temptation for me than quality, outside and in. Don't care about the brand name, price (so long as I can afford it) resale value, setting bought in, even the practicality... just show me exquisite materials, aesthetically pleasing shape and haute craftsmanship and my brain will start thinking how much is on my CC limit

My Gucci Secret is the prefect example. I so didn't need a bag at the time, especially a croc/polished leather/pony that can't be used in rain, delicate and scratches easily. Very hard to get into and out of. But, it was a remaking of a 1950s Gucci bag, leather lined in lamb, softest calf-hair, shiny thick, polished leather and supple croc with solid brass fittings :tender: I was already juggling finances by the time I was looking at the interior. That bag had so much work in it, I knew Gucci were hardly making a profit on that piece. Hermes Plume was another. I could have picked-up a pre-loved Plume at 2, even 3K under retail, the clean lines and impeccable craftsmanship are always there, but the seasonal colour was the twist and took it from 'one day...' to 'right now!', I wanted that bag. I'm happy to look for pre-loved examples now that one is under my belt but don't regret 'investing' in that green Plume as it's mine forever. So those are Gucci and Hermes, but just watch how fast I'll get the cash out in a vintage shop for some long forgotten name perfect bag, perfect is perfect.

Hello ladies, literally stumbled on this thread via link on any thread; couldn't have come at a more opportune time [emoji4]. Hoping to rotate my collection more this year. The big 40 is coming up for me this year; planning to get a few key pieces and i'm done (Hermes Evelyn, Speedy b25, Tooletry Pouch 15 and My Lady Dior bag). Refined my collection to just classic pieces so i'll get more use from it. Hope to share with u all soon [emoji106]

Welcome!

So happy to report that i am hardly looking at anything online, no any urge or craving, feeling content...
April so far looks like a "zero in" month for me....
The crazy thing for me is I'm very bag content too! I love what I have and don't have the big gaps in my collection I had in past years. In fact, other than a cheaper black beater / carefree bag, there isn't any bag that I want or need. And that's unheard of. LOL!

I just love handbags. :hbeat: And...I tend to peek to see what's out there. And...there is always a sale somewhere. LOL!

The solution is simple. I just need to do something more productive than bag surfing when I have wait time. It's too easy to whip out my phone and away I go....
