2017 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

As I try to push all my purgatory items out the door, I was thinking about the various websites. All have pros and cons, but the one place I haven't sold anything is Facebook.

I thought it would be a great option because there are dedicated pages for people who love certain brands (such as Chanel, Gucci, Prada, etc.) and I've read posts where people say they buy from those pages. Also, I can sell for a lower price because I don't pay commissions - just PayPal's 3% fees. But it's been a bust. A lot of inquires leading nowhere and crazy low balling. For example, I got a $150 offer on a like new bag that retailed for $1650 that I'm selling for $800. :no:

So, no luck. Plus, I'm a little worried about selling on that platform because it's tied to my personal info via my FB page. Have any of you had luck buying or selling on FB?

Hello ladies, literally stumbled on this thread via link on any thread; couldn't have come at a more opportune time [emoji4]. Hoping to rotate my collection more this year. The big 40 is coming up for me this year; planning to get a few key pieces and i'm done (Hermes Evelyn, Speedy b25, Tooletry Pouch 15 and My Lady Dior bag). Refined my collection to just classic pieces so i'll get more use from it. Hope to share with u all soon [emoji106]

never did that, though i think this is a good tool for local sales
i never bothered to open another, not linked account to my personal one, but i think if you want to sell you should have one spare. Just for your own safety and sanity.

I have sold on facebook groups. Mostly stuff under $200. though. Most of the time I have had good luck.

@nicole0612 and @papertiger Thanks for sharing your experiences with your Garden Party bags. I have longed for one for many years, the thing that held me back is not being able to shoulder carry over winter coats. Perhaps I will buy one one day and just know it is a hand carry/elbow carry for me. I always thought I would go neutral, ie. etoupe, (putting my hand up as an etoupe lover, gold doesn't work as nicely with my colouring @nicole0612, @papertiger, @QuelleFromage - great discussion on this earlier) however papertiger's bamboo is making me reconsider.

Just food for thought. There are just a few Bambou bags around now (seasonal around 2014/'15) but there is a new seasonal green arriving called Vert Vertigo that's a little similar :graucho:.
