These are all gorgeous. I didn't know Giv did such nice colours.
Welcome to the bright side of Givenchy! :D Maybe it will get even more colorful from now on, with Chloe's former designer now moving to Givenchy. The colors of Chloe bags are also very pretty. I'm just waiting to see what will come out from Ms Claire from now on.

All of your bags in Violet Week are so beautiful. What a treat for the eye and soul at the outset of Spring!

My four are: LV Sofia Coppola and the mini Ferragamo Fiamma; BV Pillow, and a Coach.
That LV and Ferragamo have colors that makes me purple with envy. :amazed: My favorite kind of purples.

March tallies good on bags and SLGs, terrible on scarves though

Handy couple of pics of violet and pink bags:

Top left = Gucci lizard Hysteria (metallic gold leather lining)

Below Fuchsia Gucci small Interlocking (pink leather lining and shw)
Looks quite big in first pic but see size below, little but proper bag, totally love this bag (and I'm normally not a chain gal)

Totally cheating, but just showing all new to H scarves how you can make them into bags. This pink gavroche was tuned into an evening bag for the ballet with a croc Romance 'handle'. Inside keys, mini card holder and lip balm.

I also have a blush pink Paul Smith briefcase I use for work in Summer, I haven't started using it yet this year. It has little rabbits for turn-locks on the pockets.

What I would L:heart:VE is a dark aubergine bag (pref BV). First brand to deliver on this request get my money (all usual conditions apply).
Gorgeous variety of bags. Your Gucci Fuchsia Interlocking is my favourite and I am totally intrigued by your gavroche bag.
I have one purple bag, nothing in pink though. With apologies to anyone who's fed up of me posting it - raisin bolide. This shade definitely looks redish in some lights to me, and is a very wearable purple, it seems to adapt to whatever I'm wearing  It looks different in these two photos but they were both taken just now.

Stunning bolide, raisin is one of my favourite colours!

Papertiger ,

What a sweet DH you have. My DH thinks I'm nuts whenever it starts to drizzle and I run for cover. Rain is my dreaded enemy for bags, shoes, coats and my hair. It's horrible because I hate that yucky feeling that occurs when rain water gets on anything. Bags and shoes are the worst because realistically they should be able to withstand the elements but most aren't. I'm so glad your bag was ok even though you have to use a cream cashmere to fix it. We are all obsessed and definitely dedicated to taking care of our collections
This is so funny. I have a picture of you darting between drops and heading for cover.

I am so particular about most of everything so I'm puzzled as to why rain doesn't bother me at all. I keep 2 umbrellas in my car (mini to pop in my purse and a large golf umbrella) andnif I know it's going to rain I carry a small umbrella. But all my coats (except my furs) can take anything. I keep wipes in my car for my shoes in case they need a quick dab before I can get home to do a proper wipe down and I just wear my natural curls (no blow drying straight) so I don't worry about my hair.

And my bags which are my babies seem to have survived rain with no thought for me. I don't wear pony or nubuck in the rain but the leathers can all get caught in the rain. I think the only bags I'd worry about are the lambskin. And even then I wouldn't worry all that much. I've just never had a rain spot (or any other weather issue) impact my clothing.

Dumb luck? I dunno. LOL!

People/businesses have their own definitions, but I'd say officially around 20+ years for vintage and then the 'so-out-it's-in' 8-20 years for classic almost-vintage (particularly great for ex-it bags, they were 'it' bags for a reason). Also, classics like your Chanel Reissues and Classic Flaps or @vink 's Lady Dior that, new or old, never go out of fashion.

Personally, I'm over this idea that fashion (commercial brands) dictate our likes and style. It's all just to keep us spending more and more money buying new. My taste doesn't change that much and neither does my shape or needs (though I respect others' often do). I think the price hikes of the past couple of years have gone off the scale!!!! especially in terms of what we (the consumer) has in return. When I see the scale of growth and financial annual shareholder reports of Kerring and LVMH (and others including H) pricing and strategy is not about reasonable return and sustainable business practice and it certainly is not about a longterm service relationships with customers. I'm also sick of so much waste (including my own) and over-spending (esp my own).

I have got rid of some bags that I may have bought in a weak moment, seemed like a bargain ho ho, or are of a style that never really suited me, some things were great shapes/colours etc but reflect what I could afford at the time. I'm not sorry for all my 'editing'. However, I did make some good decisions even 'way back when' and money couldn't buy better now.

Asserting my independence. Frowned on by the 'fashionistas' but I'm love'n', keep'n' and proudly keep wear'n' collection. I own them so I need to own them.

MJ Venetia (navy, shw) - beautifully made, solid bag, fantastic leather and finished. So retro (mid-70s or mid-60s) it fits perfectly with casual, minimal and mod clothing. Con = heavy
Large Chloe Bay (brown, brass hw) - Great patina, smooth, smooshy leather, posh-casual. So retro (looks exactly like my Aunt Masha's old bag) goes with any narrow '70s-style silhouette outfit (tweed jacket, bootlegs/kick-flares etc). Con = heavy and I've forgotten how to wear casual and/or brown.
Chanel Cambon Tote (cream/python/blk (no hw)) Light, easy to carry, worry-free Chanel, worry-free off-white, perfect going to wedding bag. Con = feel self conscious carrying large CC logo (unless I'm at a wedding LOL).
Burberry reverse check back-pack (mostly black, shw). Used for dance classes, I have no problem using this bag a lot. Separate leather shoe compartment base. Con = have to make sure I brush any cat-hair off it.

Come-back kids Still need to carry them more!

Large Chanel quilted back-pack (black, ghw) OK so this has been back 'in fashion' for a while. Con = chains ruin good jackets and coats so more Summer only, I like to be very casual bordering on grunge wearing this. Originally my mother's, perhaps this has passed over to the official vintage side (?)
Med front-pocket Chloe Paddington (all-black, black hw) great leather, amazing with a an all-black outfit in the city, so many compliments, easy to wear without the lock but I like the lock > Con = heavy!

Anyone else have some not quite-so-fashionable bags?
Hurray! Yes!!!

I have nothing vintage. My family is frugal to the point of insanity so no bags were handed down. And I would have had some Coach that qualified but I gave them away. I don't regret it as they aren't my style and I wouldn't have worn them. I could definitely see myself buying vintage in the future. I like the materials and quality that was available in yesteryear.
And it would have to be this colour (below, a true black-red-purple) and not just be some vague purple called 'aubergine'

I am not a purple fan in general. It's probably my least favorite color followed by orange and yellow. So yes, I agree it would have to be a deep aubergine and then it would work as a neutral.

Spark,

I always think of it as my summer bag for some reason. I wear it with orange, pinks and yellows, so I naturally in my mind put it with summer. Also the issue is that because I have colored Flaps in my base colors they all look well with my summer wardrobe. It then becomes which looks best and normally my pink flap wins. I will try with darker colors and see how it goes
You have got to use it in cold weather months. The fact that it's metallic is also great for the holidays - especially New Years season.

Gorgeous!
I have to accept the fact that I am trapped with some bags that I can't dispose given the limited second hand market accessible to me, and this fact also helps me not purchase here and there.
Beautiful!! Always love seeing this!
It seems like you've done a great job evaluating and refining your approach to your bags. That is wonderful. I know from the outside looking in, it definitely seems that you are more confident and happy with your buying.

And, I commiserate with you on the bolded statement. It seems I have 2 bags that I want to get rid of but will always have them around. :crybaby:I would have sworn they would be good sellers but you live and learn.

So now I live in an odd place. I only buy bags that I think I can love forever "which is 10+ years for me) so I get my use out of the bag. But I also refuse to buy anything that I can't sell fairly easily for what I paid for it. I know I can change my mind on a bag and I'm sick of getting stuck with them.

So no trendy, it bags for me. Ever.

I love the LV!!! I think this style and the Dora are the LV bags I wish I had in my closet.

In looking at the various colors of bags each week, I realized I have strong emotional reactions to certain colors regardless of style. Some say fun, some seem too loud, some make me giggly happy and some are downright depressing.

I never knew I had that strong of a reaction to color. I just tended to be drawn to certain ones and never thought about why. And never gave much thought to the colors I'm not excited about.

Has anyone else had that experience as we look at the bags over the weeks? And keeping it positive, are there any colors that surprised you with how much happy you received from looking at them?

Sparkle and all ...

I find that my tolerance for color has gone way up. I would not have considered a yellow bag and now I look at them with a far more creative eye as to how they could fit in my sartorial life. I was inspired by the blue bags, a color I own but don't reach for, and now I want to use my blues and have a turquoise bag as one of my buys this summer. I want to kick up the brightness factor. Also a deep pink bag might be in my future. Seeing the rainbow of bags has opened me up to the range of color I could use.

Also, for those of us in colder climates, March is a great time to show color. I know I'm dying to move into spring bags and spring everything else too.
