I'm kind of doing this now for March--I keep a list of my bag wears for the year, and I am trying to choose my daily bag from the ones I've only worn once or twice so far.
BUT I had a setback. I mentioned when I got the Vivienne that I was ready to get rid of a bag, and that was my Cambridge Satchel. I took it out of its usual place and put it right by my full-length mirror so that every morning when I was getting ready, I had the opportunity to try it on and see if it was a better match for my outfit than anything else I owned. For three weeks, it was not. I figured that was a sign to get rid of it since it was on the chopping block already.
And then it started raining here, and I didn't want to take out my more delicate bags. My epi LV would probably be fine, but I still don't want to needlessly expose them to bad weather. So I finally reached for the Cambridge Satchel, and I've managed to come up with some decent outfit pairings. I've now worn it three times this week because of our crappy weather, and I think I'm going to keep it after all even though it has fiddly clasps and will never get the amount of wears it really deserves.
I don't know if this is a success story or not. Whenever I start wearing a bag again, I always fall in love with it again rather than realizing why I don't wear it. And I would still like to get rid of a bag to allow for the Vivienne coming in.
