By the way, I am licking my wounds of disappointment and bought a bag I have had my eye on for 7 years. It is preloved in my price range and I am so glad to get it, as this bag has been in the back of my mind as the only fendi that has ever been SO my style, and I've never gotten over it. Now I don't have to.
Thought it would be interesting to tell you guys about it because I have read so much anti brown bag sentiment on here. So many of you are so over brown bags or never liked them or are just starting to tolerate them after never liking them, and blah blah blah. Whereas I LOVE earth toned and natural toned leather. Especially lighter tones, but not super light like white or ivory because that's just scary. But I like a pretty beige and tan in spring and summer.. Even year round. So here is the bag I bought today.

Reminds me of the pilot episode of Friends when Rachel is licking her wounds about not getting a job by buying new boots. She calls them her, 'I don't need a job because I have these new boots' boots, or something to that effect. I guess this bag is my shopping therapy as well. But I really don't feel any qualms or doubts about it and after seven years of it being 'one that got away' and a bag I always wanted, now it will be a forever bag in my collection. I'm sure. That feeling is rare! Plus I am getting an 80% discount from retail for being such a patient little puppy for all these years and waiting for it to be in my price range, preloved. Yay. No almost bag for me, this is the only fendi that has ever sung the true siren song to me but budget stood in the way. Now I will get her! And all my favorite beiges and tans in there, in a lovely subtle colorblock making her match very many of my shoes, boots, jackets, and coats.IMG_1488881836.829293.jpg

We have to find our control where we can. lol! One at a time is a good start!!

You bring up an interesting question about which jewelry pieces we most easily justify. For me, it's necklaces and earrings. I wear and switch them daily depending on neckline, hairstyle, style of clothing, etc. But, I'm super picky and have a very nice collection. So while I'll buy when I'm tempted, it takes a lot to tempt me.

Bracelets are huge temptations but I restrain myself. When I'm working, they bang against the desktop so I end up taking them off. Plus cuffs and bangles (my favorite styles) get scratched from me moving through life so I'm always taking them in to get polished. I usually restrict bracelets to my non work life.

Rings are lesser temptations. I have nice pieces and don't crave new ones. Also I usually don't like more than one ring on each hand. So that limits wear opportunities.

Last year, I decided didn't want any more costume jewelry. So, I went through everything and donated, gifted or pitched all of it except except for a very few pieces (and they're getting the side eye as I haven't found an occasion to wear what's left.) My goal this year is to replace most of those items with fine jewelry. My costume items were mostly casual, fun pieces. But, I decided I was big girl and could wear real jewelry casually without losing it. LOL! So I don't know that I'm tempted this year as much as deliberately completing my to buy list.

For me jewelry is the one area that needs work. I need to work on my fine jewelry or better yet tell DH what I'm looking for and let him fund this for me. I have too many habits as it is.

don't like fussy earrings or necklaces, I prefer stud earrings because I find hoops they interfere with my hair. I do love cuffs and bangles. I have small mixed variety of Leather cuffs from H, Bal,Fendi and Eddi Borgo. I mix these with my trusty yurman bangles and my stack is complete. Here's a pic of my current collection

i can't have enough of jewelry, i wear some of silver pieces 24/7 without taking them off at all, at the airports i just go straight to the personal search booths.
i have big collection of various items, and i love stacking them and change them daily according to my outfits.
Thanks to all for you incredibly beautiful post of enamels, you reminded me i have some, too  so, this is what i wear today:
Hermes orange Caleche bangle, BV rose gold knot (plus watch and gold bangle) and matching orange H-buckle belt in clemence leather
bag is orange and gold hobo, italian hand-made perforated leather (no brand)
Looking fantastic! I love orange.

Congrats and wear it in good health.

Thanks DC,

The alma was just never carried. I had since 2010, I think any carried maybe 5 times. It can be bit cumbersome in certain situations. Once I got my red Chanel I said I was going to sell and I finally did.
I love my alma but rarely if ever wear it. I am not ready to part with mine but I am thinking about it.

It took me awhile to get to that point. I actually held it a year longer because I was on the fence. The resale market is pretty good for them. I only lost 200 bucks from my initial purchase price. When you factor in time frame it was like having for free
