I also have this cute enamel scarf ring (you can wear it on chain or cord too as jewellery)

and you can turn scarf rings and scarves into jewellery (the ring is a fine gold and enamel from Frey Wille, I would prob never wear it as a scarf ring but you never know)

For the money I prefer Gucci. This bracelet is solid silver, gold and enamel and I have others LOL

A bit off topic but I've been wanting to invest in some cashmere - what brands and any tips you have for buying?

+1 ... I'm interested, too!

I am not an expert on cashmere, I just know what I like - I have had good luck with Vince, Equipment, Eileen Fisher and Holt Renfrew brands. I've read many people online love Everlane and Uniqlo.
My tips:
Read the label, when I'm on the hunt for cashmere I look for high percentage cashmere content, specifically 100% cashmere vs. 85% wool/15% cashmere. I have also enjoyed silk/cashmere blends. Just my preference, there's nothing wrong with blends if you want a lower price point - it's just important to know what you're paying for. I like thinner cashmere sweaters which are great for layering, thicker cashmere sweaters and cashmere cardigans.
Here are a few links if you would like to read more (yes, I am a geek.)

I also discovered baby alpaca in a lovely and warm scarf this season.

Happy cashmere hunting!

Gorgeous accessories.
Finally found out after 5 weeks of interviews with 6 people that I didn't get the job. Grad school life continues!
don't get frustrated, i know it's annoying, but probably it wasn't YOURS, every experience is valuable, i'm sure you will feel more confident on the next opportunity, and hopefully YOUR dream job is waiting for you just behind the corner! :flowers:

I just realized that I haven't posted my red bags yet. I only have two: LV Capucines BB and MJ Mini 54. If I allowed myself to, I'd probably own a LOT more red bags, as it's the color I'm drawn to most often when I look at bags on web sites. But I try to be good about not purchasing, since these two bags really meet all my needs. Being on this thread definitely helps me control myself!

beautiful reds!! really like the deep, saturated red on MJ

We have to find our control where we can. lol! One at a time is a good start!!

You bring up an interesting question about which jewelry pieces we most easily justify. For me, it's necklaces and earrings. I wear and switch them daily depending on neckline, hairstyle, style of clothing, etc. But, I'm super picky and have a very nice collection. So while I'll buy when I'm tempted, it takes a lot to tempt me.

Bracelets are huge temptations but I restrain myself. When I'm working, they bang against the desktop so I end up taking them off. Plus cuffs and bangles (my favorite styles) get scratched from me moving through life so I'm always taking them in to get polished. I usually restrict bracelets to my non work life.

Rings are lesser temptations. I have nice pieces and don't crave new ones. Also I usually don't like more than one ring on each hand. So that limits wear opportunities.

Last year, I decided didn't want any more costume jewelry. So, I went through everything and donated, gifted or pitched all of it except except for a very few pieces (and they're getting the side eye as I haven't found an occasion to wear what's left.) My goal this year is to replace most of those items with fine jewelry. My costume items were mostly casual, fun pieces. But, I decided I was big girl and could wear real jewelry casually without losing it. LOL! So I don't know that I'm tempted this year as much as deliberately completing my to buy list.
i can't have enough of jewelry, i wear some of silver pieces 24/7 without taking them off at all, at the airports i just go straight to the personal search booths.
i have big collection of various items, and i love stacking them and change them daily according to my outfits.
Thanks to all for you incredibly beautiful post of enamels, you reminded me i have some, too :) so, this is what i wear today:
Hermes orange Caleche bangle, BV rose gold knot (plus watch and gold bangle) and matching orange H-buckle belt in clemence leather
bag is orange and gold hobo, italian hand-made perforated leather (no brand)

Wow ladies, more beautiful reds!!! Yes Elaine, my regular size MJ 54 is also in Flame Red. Such a vibrant red!

HBG - sorry about the job. Maybe after the new grad program/field, you'll encounter a better one.
Vink - can't wait to see what is in your box!
Ksuromax - lovely outfit as always!

Btw, I already got my scarves an hour ago. But, I can't really enjoy the unboxing since I'm still in the office. They will not understand.

Thanks for the links. I looked at the first. Now I know that cashmere is superior to wool generally.

I actually opened the package. But I just can't enjoy my new goodies with them just a few meters away. It's so hot in the car. :p

Well, since you asked . . .

The flats I bought are at the top. They also have them in a pewter color I'm strongly considering if these fit well. I need both a light and a dark gray. I don't have many neutral flats, and grays always work well for me. I like pointed toes and a slight heel with no metal hardware. This is harder to find than one might think.

And of course, the LV:

I can't tell you how happy I am about the card case. I've been looking for something like this for a long time, because most of my evening bags don't fit my regular wallet. When I travel and keep switching out between a day bag and an evening bag, I'm not great about getting everything BACK to the day bag.

This has been a real pain, so I wanted to get one tiny wallet that holds everything I might need for a weekend away. This is deep enough to hold a few cards, and it doesn't have card slots (the bane of my existence).

The bag was not on my radar, but the color has been--I have and wear a lot of olive green, so I can definitely use a bag in that shade. The clincher on buying this, though, was that I've been wanting a dressy day bag (if that makes sense). I don't have anything suitable for attending a matinee at the theater or a nice afternoon baby shower or wedding--most of my nice bags are either clearly evening bags, or they're just really big and not a good choice for keeping in the lap at an event.
Beautiful bag!! What shoes are those? Sorry if you mentioned it previously.

I spent a decade acquiring really thick, kitten soft cashmere sweater coats. I am a cashmere sweater coat junkie. I have more than a dozen of them, cardigans with pockets that are so thick that I can even go out with them if I'm just walking to and from the car, and be warm, and that are so soft, I prefer it to cotton for next-to-skin. Of course I wear a cotton or bamboo long sleeved top and leggings as loungewear at home and throw them into the machine daily and my cashmere sweater coats that I use mostly at home but occasionally out in the wild are rarely hand washed, but they are just a lifestyle staple because I LIVE IN THE MOTHER EFFING ARCTIC and man I hate being cold. I even sleep in them on top of my Jammies sometimes because I don't want to be chilly at night and I get seriously chilled if my upper arms and chest lose contact with the blanket, and in my family bed with 4 of us at the moment, my own coverage isn't always happening.

Anyways, I just wanted to chime in and say that I am a cashmere junkie. Only 100%, only so thick that it will not wear out (it's quite a delicate fiber so my thinner sweaters, even 'cable knit' ones will eventually get holes), so that means so thick that it literally feels heavy to pick up, like an actual coat, but it's just a crazy thick sweater cardigan. I have even been known to splurge on 4 digit retail price tag designer ones, but always for a steal second hand (so just a couple hundred dollars). I used to have a running ebay alert for 'thick chunky cable cashmere 100%' and once in a blue moon find something really amazing for a steal. Or scour second hand designer boutiques in cities when I am there.... Now I just have an entire collection and need no more, and I rely on the wonderfulness of cashmere every single day. Could not do winter without it!
