I couldn’t have said it any better, dcooney4 — Bake, don’t get discouraged! The right dog is out there, waiting for you — you just haven’t met him (or her) yet. I’ve seen many, many shelter adoptions and the best ones happen when the adopter is patient and doesn’t give up on finding the right pet for them. Hang in there and keep the faith!

I found her yesterday! I’m so glad I found her.

This kid did guilt trip me over winning the adoption raffle though. But I’m just thrilled I found such a loveable dog!

On Friday we went to so many shelters in the area. I’m happy that the shelters aren’t full and there’s so many people wanting to adopt!

DD and I had a Cristmas bag exchange of the gentlest sort. She asked me if I was finished with my Coach Court Bag, an archival bag from decades past but a favorite among so many bags I’ve had over then years, and still occasionally worn. In fact, it seems to be the prototype for the vaunted LV Pouchette Metis. Inwardly I hesitated but I let it go to her. She will wear it a lot and loved getting it, wrapped in a plaid scarf of my mother’s from further decades back.

In return, she made me a little silk evening wristlet. I had been complaining that I was finished with carrying clumsy clutches so she came up with this. I’ll certainly use it since my evening wear is black, black and more black and is a pretty pop of silk. It’s lined in a dusty rose silk. Here it is:)

That’s a good trade. It’s a wristlet you’ll get use out of and even better it’s from your DD!

YAY!!!!! Congrats to you both! Looking forward to seeing pics when you bring her home.

LOL about the guilt trip. When we got our dog years ago, we won him in a charity auction (terrible way to get a dog, I know, but no regrets as he is the best little friend ever). After the auction, the woman whose husband came in second cornered me in the ladies room and offered to pay me for the dog! Umm, no?

p.s. What ever happened to the running dog emoticon? We need this now!

Thank you!

It was a serious guilt trip. She whined that this was the 3rd raffle she lost, how she deserved a dog after all this time.

Her dad was super chill though, he was all “think positive, you’ll get the dog that’s meant for you.” We drove past them, she was throwing a major tantrum in their car. I felt bad but I too, wanted a dog.

The next two weeks will be crazy! I need to dog proof the house for a small dog, knowing they get into the craziest places. My grandma’s chihuahua taught me that a long time ago [emoji23].
For a Labrador, it was mainly ensuring they couldn’t open doors to the pantry or fridge. They did manage to figure out how to break into the dog food storage, so they were always being clever.

I can’t wait! I’m so excited. I nearly cried again hearing her cry from being put back in the kennel! But she needs to be spayed and so many dogs got adopted this week that the wait is two weeks long! I’m going to visit her there during her wait.

I cried on Friday because I fell in love with a dog and had to wait till Saturday to do the raffle.

I got a dog! She’ll come home in two weeks!!

And my family loves this dog much more over my first choice. She’s much more affectionate. I’m so happy I got to adopt this dog. I’ll share her pic once she comes home. [emoji4]
Yay! I knew your fur baby was out there. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

So, I have a confession to make. I thought after buying the BV Chain Tote I was done for the year, but apparently I was wrong! DH got me a lanyard from BV for Christmas, and we went in to exchange black for cobalt blue, and they had THIS bag ... I had seen photos of it before and loved it but told myself it was too small to be practical. But that argument went out the window when I saw this little beauty in person. In a rare moment of enabling, DH told me to stop trying to argue that it will get a lot of use, and that if I just love it, I should get it.

That said, there have already been two occasions over the holidays when I would have used this bag if I had had it, and another tomorrow when I will use it (casual gathering at a friend’s house when I don’t want to bring a whole bag but still want something to carry my phone, lip gloss and a few tissues).

Presenting my new, completely unplanned, impulse buy (before I go into 2018 with the resolution of NO impulse buys!).

Now, like @westvillage, I am ready for a strong pause while I use the bags I have and reassess my collection. :p

What an absolutely precious bag... how are those butterflies done? Are they woven in? Attached on top of the woven leather? Oh, my! I can definitely see why you fell in love with this! Congratulations, and enjoy it! Sometimes "love at first sight" is a good thing! :graucho:

So happy to hear this!

I’m just starting my journey to adopt a dog so I’m hoping to have a new fur baby in 2018 too!

This is a lovely wristlet. Perfect especially for the winter months. And especially precious since it's handmade. Your DD is very talented!

This looks like that goldielocks of bags, not to big and not to small.

Thanks! Sorry I somehow missed your nice comment earlier. It’s just a little bigger than a WOC — large enough for a card case, phone, lip gloss and a few tissues, but not much more! There is also, for some reason, a divider in the middle of the bag, so that limits what you can carry.
