So, I have a confession to make. :angel: I thought after buying the BV Chain Tote I was done for the year, but apparently I was wrong! DH got me a lanyard from BV for Christmas, and we went in to exchange black for cobalt blue, and they had THIS bag ... I had seen photos of it before and loved it but told myself it was too small to be practical. But that argument went out the window when I saw this little beauty in person. In a rare moment of enabling, DH told me to stop trying to argue that it will get a lot of use, and that if I just love it, I should get it. :biggrin:

That said, there have already been two occasions over the holidays when I would have used this bag if I had had it, and another tomorrow when I will use it (casual gathering at a friend’s house when I don’t want to bring a whole bag but still want something to carry my phone, lip gloss and a few tissues).

Presenting my new, completely unplanned, impulse buy (before I go into 2018 with the resolution of NO impulse buys!).

Now, like @westvillage, I am ready for a strong pause while I use the bags I have and reassess my collection. :p

OMG ... and look at it with your top behind it! First off, it’s gorgeous and I really love it. Second ... you’ve lived a fantasy. My hairdresser is kitty corner across from a BV with windows that wrap around so lots of bags to ogle. I saw these lines (though not this one) and loved them two weeks ago when I was by there. But the fantasy is to go in and just casually buy one (or more ... it's a fantasy after all.) Congratulations on a beautiful bag. You’ll get lots of wearings starting now!

DD and I had a Cristmas bag exchange of the gentlest sort. She asked me if I was finished with my Coach Court Bag, an archival bag from decades past but a favorite among so many bags I’ve had over then years, and still occasionally worn. In fact, it seems to be the prototype for the vaunted LV Pouchette Metis. Inwardly I hesitated but I let it go to her. She will wear it a lot and loved getting it, wrapped in a plaid scarf of my mother’s from further decades back.

In return, she made me a little silk evening wristlet. I had been complaining that I was finished with carrying clumsy clutches so she came up with this. I’ll certainly use it since my evening wear is black, black and more black and is a pretty pop of silk. It’s lined in a dusty rose silk. Here it is:)

Aww, thanks! This is NOT my usual buying MO, not at all! I usually see something, walk away, think about it, post about it, Google image it, obsess on it, and try to work it into the budget with other things I think I may want down the line. And 90 percent of the time, I end up talking myself out of the purchae. So, this was a very unusual thing for me! I guess one impulse buy per calendar year is OK, right? Maybe? ;):panic:

The “top” in the photo is actually an Hermes shawl. One of the SAs made a comment about it — until that point, I had been so focused on the bag that I didn’t even realize my scarf had butterflies in it too! #tunnelvision!

That is so sweet and generous of you to let your beloved Coach bag go to your DD. (And, interesting insight that it may be the prototype for the LV Pochette Metis — I can totally see that!) And the silk bag she made for you is so pretty! Your DD is very talented!

It’s lovely!

You will get a dog. I bawled my eyes out when one rescue Went a different way with a dog I really wanted. My niece had adopted his brother a few weeks prior. I ended up finding my little guy that I have now. The adoption of the first dog fell through because they lied on their application. So that dog went back in the system and my niece ended up with him too. He is a sweet dog but I actually love my guy more. So just remember your special dog is out there. Don’t get discouraged.

I cried on Friday because I fell in love with a dog and had to wait till Saturday to do the raffle.

I got a dog! She’ll come home in two weeks!!

And my family loves this dog much more over my first choice. She’s much more affectionate. I’m so happy I got to adopt this dog. I’ll share her pic once she comes home. [emoji4]

I’m going to give my totals for December and year-end 2017 since I know I’m done now.

December
In: 2 = Siena and Spy
Out: 3 = 1 Travel, 1 Archival 1 Shopping Bag o Doom. Cuts my totals but not my active F/W number.
SLG = 0 as usual

2017 Totals
In: 10, including 1 gift
Out: 18
SLG=1

So it went in the right direction in 2017 and I’m fairly happy. I had a little personal goal to hit 20 out but at the very last minute I decided to roll 2 over into January so I’ll have time to date them to see if there’s any chance we’re still a match. Those 2 are double zip totes (Tod’s and Coach Borough.). I still like, and in the case of Tod’s, love the bags but I find that style frustrating to carry. I’m making my goals for 2018 and will pop over to that thread!

Thanks to everyone ... especially bakeacookie who never fails to respond, encourage and discourage a tad when necessary. And to everyone. You all have offered such insightful comments, analyses, food for so much thought, It’s been a fun year (9 months for me.) Great job!

I’m glad you find my input helpful! Great job with all those outs!
