I'm a little worried about the snowy weather so I'm practicing for the 15 in 31. LOL!

I've been changing bags the last 5 days - so far, so good. I definitely have to be careful because of the snowy / salty / dirty yuck covering everything outside. :yucky: So far - patent, saffiano, caviar and calfskin. I can wipe them if they happen to get a little schmutz on them. But, the blue Dior I planned to use feels too fragile. Also, I returned the MK Geneva.

I'm surprised I'll be using all of my Chanels. I thought I'd baby them, but I think they can work. I only have to be careful of the grey lamb.

Anyone else "practicing"?

I'm already going "noooo don't need it, don't want it" (seen a bag I sold in the colour I should have bought it in - I am resisting)

Yup, me! I've counted the ticks on my list and it's at 16!! Yay!! The bag with the most days worn (3) is Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir in Blue. But I'll see how the count goes by the end of the month.

Yay!! You're using all your Chanels!

No, not yet, but I've been planning. :) I may take 2 bags for the trip instead of one so I can, at least, "make the number" while I was away. I'll see if it'll fits. I hate carrying too much during the trip. :(

And since I really want to further my "lessen the intimidation" project, I'll take one of my Chanel for the trip to DH's hometown next week. The trip will cross over to January 1st so I'll get to make the number as well. :)

Glad to hear you're using all of your Chanel. I have to get to that one day. :)

I was originally going to allow myself 32 bags. But, I'm currently at 26 bags and really think I can get my "final" collection to 28 bags max over the next few years. I have 7 bags I want to slowly replace and 2 TBD to reach my max. I think it makes sense to add these 9 bags slowly (over 3-4 years) to get the "right" ones. I think this approach will also give me some fun variety as I'll have bags from different years with influences from different trends.

So, my new slightly adjusted goals:

• Sell 15 bags: 13 purgatory, 2 in collection
• Buy no more than 3 bags (preferably just 1 or 2)
• Have a 100% success rate on purchases
Spark
So over next few years half of your collection needs to be flipped. This is well thought out plan. Do you know what two bags you have your eye on for this year

I think another addition in my resolution is to learn contentment and appreciate what I have.

I think many of us, myself included, get caught up in the pursuit of items that we really don't cherish what we have.
Bake,

I truly agree with this. I always complain to my BFF that I'm working on my bags and she tells me to stop it. She thinks my collection is perfect but to me it's not

I plan to make this a part of my 2017 resolutions also. Instead of always looking towards my next acquisition, I want to live in the moment, and enjoy what I have!

I have been changing every two days but there was a few times it was three days, so it will be a real challenge. The snow and rain will make it tricky. I will take advantage of every sunny day.

There have been so many wonderful tips in the 2016 thread that have really helped keep my bag collection under control. One of the hardest tips was not to settle for a bag I liked somewhat because it was on sale. I have failed on this one multiple times and ended up selling it down the road. Saving up for what you really love and know will work for your lifestyle is a much better approach. Another thing is learn what really works for you personally. I have discovered I don't like floppy bags and bags have to be light weight or they don't get worn.

If you sold it once, maybe you don't really need it in the closet. It's just a lust. It'll pass.
I originally picked the wrong colour, it was red with bright gold hardware - the hardware and colour combo made me feel like a beacon every time I wore it! Don't know what I was thinking  and always regretted not buying the grey with silver but that quickly sold out. There's a nearly new one on the bay.......:whut:

I keep my bags out of their dustbags in a couple of cupboards, where it's really easy to see them all. It helps me to see them there.

Me too, I find it really hard to resist a significant reduction in a sale, particularly on high quality things - and not just bags. Even if its not something I was planning on getting, I'll buy it more often than not

This about not settling!! I finally bit the bullet on the Saint Laurent tote because I did not like to settle anymore to just later buy more and more because I'm not content. I found a good deal on a Tory Burch Perry tote (a bit similar to the YSL tote), and it was a good thing I was able to check it out in the TB store as I did not like the leather. That was when I decided I should really go for what I really wanted!

Aw... I don't want to enable, but so you think this is a second chance for you to get the gray one?
Do you like that bag? If it's gray? I mean how did the bag fit and serve you, the color aside? Coz it could be just something that you keep wondering "what if", when in fact, it doesn't really work anyway? Or it may work if not for the color?
Think about that bag some more. You experience using it already. You should know better. ;)
