It's been over 2 years. I love driving the car, but some of the controls just don't feel as intuitive as the controls on my old Lexus. Maybe it's just me? It's a beautifully-designed car, though, and I feel very safe in it. Excellent visibility, great brakes, very good on wet roads. I think it's just that the old Lexus was my first luxury car, and I really appreciated all its little high-end touches.

Years ago when we lived in NJ, a friend of ours had an Audi she loved. The lease came up and she got a Mercedes. She could. Not. Wait. for the lease to on that car to end. The minute it did, she got herself another Audi,

They’re both good brands, but sometimes something just feels right (or not right). Just is what it is, I guess. It works, for you or it doesn’t, for some reason.

I've been away for a while and have decided there's no way I could catch up on a month's posts on this site so I'm just jumping back in. Life has been exceptionally chaotic for me and my family and many things have dropped off the to-do list including Christmas cards and my annual cranberry bread baking marathon. And I didn't get all my things listed on ebay like I had planned. I am trying to decide if I should push and get a few things listed as a buy-it-now instead of a standard auction...

Working on listing on Ebay. Now I know why I put it off. It's boring. :yucky:
Isn't listing a PITB? I hate it. And I only do BIN.
Give it time, you'll bond with the Mercedes - I've been driving the SUV for 17+ years and still love it. :flowers:
OH WOW! You've gotten 17 years out of a car. I'm so jealous!!!! That's amazing!!!
Congrats on your new bag AND your new car. May you have many hours of delight with the bag, and many many MANY (at least 15) years of safety with the car. :ghi5:
Thank You!!!
As a relative newbie to this thread, it will be my first time doing/seeing color week, and I’m looking forward to it!
It's the best!!! I'm glad you're joining in. Your bags are fab.

I was eyeballing that pretty Mercedes SUV. That is a great looking car.

Cars really should last at least 15 years. I know people who get a new car every 2 years. But the rest of us just wanna get from point a to point b for as long as possible without spending more $.

We went back out today at lunchtime and looked at additional models of the Lexus and the Cadillac. I knew which one I wanted from the online spec sheets - the black Lexus. Or so I thought. I saw it and...nope. Then I went to my second choice - the black Cadillac - nope.

Then I looked at the one that I just knew I didn't want and yep! it's the one.

So I just picked up my new car! 2016 Cadillac SRX. Yay! I love it...well as much as I can love a car. :giggle: I'd really rather have a couple new bags but I can't drive a satchel to Walmart. [emoji38] View attachment 3908037(This is a stock photo because they took the picture of my car off the site when I bought it).

We had talked about hating the haggling? I bought this from a company called Drivers Select. They have set, no haggle pricing below Kelly Blue Book. All the cars are CARFAX accident free and have had only one owner. The prices on the models I looked at were lower than anything I could find nationwide. They're opening up additional locations nationwide US over the next year so I wanted to share. You know I looooove a deal!

@HopelessBagGirl - I checked out the site you mentioned for true pricing. Unfortunately, it seems to only be for new cars and I like to buy preloved (no surprise there. Lol!) but it seems like a really great tool. Thanks for sharing.

Ok. Bday vacation. New red bag. New car. My disposable has officially been disposed of. :whiteflag: I think I saw dust and a tumbleweed roll out of my wallet. :whut: I'm going to happily go on ban in January with gratitude and contentment.
Cool car, and I love the no haggling part!! Bonus!

This could be me. We had a zippy little Audi Quattro wagon when the kids were very little. Moved into larger cars for the kids, their friends, and our multiple dogs phase. Then back to an Audi Quattro wagon. It has enough rear room to move things between here and the country and is AWD for the snow. We beat ourselves up a little during the car shopping process that we couldn’t be more ... maybe adventurous, flexible ... and get something new and different but we we had been so satisfied with the Audi that it just felt like a no brainer to go back to it. That was 9 years ago. I’ve been thinking that we’ve kept this car for a long time but reading here, a few of you have really extended your car’s life. More years without car shopping ... I want that!

I guess everyone has their specific car that just works for them. For my DH, it’s the BMW 3 series. Years ago, my mother fell in love with my little 1988 Honda Civic because driving it reminded her of the Volkswagen Bug she learned to drive a stick shift on. Even non-car people have a car in their past they fell in love with!

So true! And that car can change as time goes on!

I used to love the family’s Suburban. Why? Because my dogs and I would go on car rides. So much fun. Lol.

I didn’t buy a bag yesterday! I feel so accomplished.

I really wanted that Mulberry Cara that could be a backpack, but it was kinda heavy still. :(

Coach didn’t have any transfers I liked, I went to BV and Ferragamo, but no colors I liked.

I did come home with a brooch from Balenciaga though. DBF got it for me, with the condition I buy no more brooches haha. It’s so amazing I’m in absolute love with it.

I didn’t even know Bal makes brooches! Can you share a photo?

I read this and thought "that's not true. I don't love any car."

Then  I remembered my beloved white pearl Jaguar S-Type. :hbeat: I adored that car even though it was tiny and broke down if I looked at it cross eyed. I finally had to get rid of it because I was driving and the wheel literally fell off. Luckily, I was just turning out of my subdivision so I was going very slowly.

That car was a mess. But I adored it.

Glad nothing happened to you but .... Hahahahahaha ... such a funny image. Guess the jag’s reputation for finickiness (she says euphemistically) has some validity to it :)

It definitely does. I can be a little but of an... erm... uh... thrifty person - especially in categories I don't care for. And, my husband had been threatening to replace it for a while because of the repairs. So, he laughed til he cried about me literally "driving it til the wheel fell off"
