Oh man I love the idea of owning the ones you’re iffy about.

I’ve been wanting a red bag but couldn’t find the right shade till I ended up on a ban, a navy reissue to be my subtle chanel but hesitated because my Alma is navy, and the mademoiselle I hesitated because I had similarly sized bags.

It’s funny how one can love a feature for a bag and another dislikes it. I love the structure of the epi material, I’m kind of iffy on the new epi because it’s a little thinner.

Funny, I almost bought the navy Alma! Every time I see yours I want one. But I have other navy bags so that decision is on the back burner at least for now.

catsinthebag- had me thinking if you could get all your money back on one or two bags which one would you sell? For me it would be my Alma as that poor bag still has the original card board shape holder in it and just doesn't get worn. The other is my red epi speedy. Both of these bags are gorgeous but for some reason I just don't wear them. What bags would you choose if any?
I forgot I meant to answer this question, too. It's a great one that has me really thinking.

The main one for me is the Celine Edge. I would take 60% of what I paid let alone all of what I paid. Lol!!

The others in priority order:
• YSL Small Monogram Cabas - I'm seriously thinking of selling this. I worry about the handles making me scared to carry it. :-s I need a different black bag I'm not scared of.
• The four material challenged bags I've mentioned. As I mentioned, I plan to sell the Chanels and get lamb versions - mainly because I'm pretty sure I can do so without putting new money in. I decided I'll only sell the Pradas if I don't use them over the next year.
• Proenza Schouler Black and Silver Small Courier - I love that these have the dual colored hardware but, I just don't wear either much anymore. Resale on PS is AWFUL so I force myself to keep them in rotation. I enjoy wearing them so it's not a hardship. But, I know if I had the money back, there are one or two other bags I'd love more.

Making this list was helpful. It made me realize I don't want to part with just about all my collection. :amuse: And, it's making me think about whether keeping any or all of the above is the best decision.

But, as I said I'm sick of selling. And, I'm reminded that it's a good thing to be happily settled vs. always looking for better. So, I'm going to land more and more on the side of loving my bags vs overanalyzing them and causing churn as I have unknowingly done in the past.
Are both the alma and the speedy Epi? Is there something about that leather that doesn’t work for you? I ask because I have mixed feelings about Epi myself. Love the look, but not the stiffness.

For me, I’ve thought for years about selling my Chanel Reissue 227 in Dark Blue. I usually love blue bags and have to make sure I don’t err on the side of having too many. But when I think back to the day I bought this particular Chanel (it was years ago) I think I was really just wanting to buy a larger reissue, and blue was the default because my 226 is black and it seemed silly to have two black Chanel’s. I’ve since bought a black 227 so the blue is a bit redundant. That said, at Sparkle’s suggestion, I forced myself to wear it and I do still like the bag! So the jury is still out on this one.

The other two hags I’d take my money back on if possible aren’t premiere — they are my last two Longchamp purchases. I bought the new Mademoiselle bag when it came out in August, and although the bag is really well-designed and well-made, I haven’t worn it much. It’s too small to be an everyday bag for me. The too-small issue is the thing that gets me over and over, like Lucy holding the football saying she won’t pull it away this time! I so wish I was a small-bag person, but I’m just not.

The other Longchamp is a Cuir in Red Lacquer. I fell for the color. I didn’t need or want another Cuir, but somehow I ended up buying this bag. Haven’t worn it even once. If I was still in the return period, I’d bring it back, but it’s too late for that. Beautiful color, but being honest with myself, I’m not a red bag person (although I love them on others, I just don’t naturally gravitate to them). Frustrated with myself over that one!
LOL! On the Lucy example.

I love both those bags. I always think that if Alma, regular size, had a strap, I would buy up all the discontinued colors, LOL. It’s such a pretty shape. Why do you think you don’t use it? What about it doesn’t work?
I have speedy and the Alma in the de so I tend to grab the speedy because it is lighter . Also I have red hair so I am just not crazy about the red Epi speedy color with my hair.

How big is your Alma again? I knew there was a difference between epi and canvas but since your Alma and Speedy are both DE, I didn’t realize there was a weight difference.

Red with red hair ... that’s an interesting reason but I can visualize the rub there, especially for a painter.

The lovely hipster kids around here delight in wearing red with magenta with orange with fucsia ...the more clash, the more ironic. Sometimes I just have to go eeek! and grab my face like Macaulay Culkin in that Home Alone poster.

Those hipster kids are right on trend... Pantone has announced the Color of the Year for 2018, and it's ultraviolet purple!!!!

I actually love the look of my red epi bag. What I don’t like is the look with my red hair. Dark red like oxblood looks good on me but not a bright lipstick red. I like the epi leather. I had wanted the speedy in blue but it was sold out. They had a blue souflount ( don’t know how to spell it) but when the Sa set it down it rolled off the counter and on to the floor. I passed on it thinking that would happen often. So I chose the red. As far as Alma I think I just have to much handheld de canvas. Besides the speedy I have the papillon 30 in de too.

Good luck at the card dealership, bake! I hope the car salesman is smart enough to treat you properly!

Thank you!

We’re done! New car for DBF, no more torture for me!

And this guy was nice, didn’t treat us like we’re young and dumb. He treated us well so he got the sale.

But hurray!! DBF is absolutely thrilled, his poor old car was on its last leg and hopefully this lasts just as long as his old one did.

Hoping my car lasts a few more years so I won’t have to go through this anytime soon haha.

Congrats! I hate car shopping so I hope your car lasts a long time.
