She’s sipping tea while I read about applying game theory to potential policy for prostitution.
Luckily these last exams are about economic concepts I can explain in words, not quite as exacting as the exam I nailed yesterday which was ten game theory math problems that take an entire page and at least 10 minutes to work out and have a zillion ways they can get messed up if you aren’t careful and haven’t practiced the calculus a million times. That’s just a ton of practice to be able to execute, so it’s like the equivalent of doing a ton of addition. Takes the sheer force of hours of repetition.
These last exams I just need to reread journal articles and lecture notes and be sure I have a clear idea of the economic ideas, and be able to say something intelligible, essay-style, for two hours of writing with pencil and paper, per exam. The worst part is how sore my hand is from writing with a pencil! I wish my professor would get digital and let us do it on a computer. But I’m not too concerned that I’ll fall flat with the material, none of it relies exclusively on calculus or anything that might be hard to remember without a crap ton of practice hours before hand. Just masters level microeconomics applied with a political science spin.
Most of the topics are pretty effective at cooling down my longing to move back to the US. Healthcare problems in the US and crime issues (guns especially) are such cold water on my head when I’m longing to raise my family in my home country. So that’s good , I guess.... I still hate the country I live in. :/
I think my calculus and other advanced math/statistics skills are rusty. I sort of envy it that you are able to use them! I'm trying to be better in understanding accounting now (only had it in MBA) through members of my staff who are CPAs because part of my current responsibilities requires affixing my initials on financial statements! Haha, how I've shifted focus. And funny, I am a witness of how different the approaches are to the same problem by an accountant and a mathematician, arriving at the same conclusion.
It’s hard to wait when you know they have it! But also people have a life outside of delivering bags for us so we have to be patient I guess. I hope the bag is perfect and exactly what you want!
I'm restraining myself from pestering them, lol!! But if they only know how hard it is to wait for a bag!! When I joked to my sister (niece's mom) that I couldn't sleep from waiting, she told me - "you're a bag addict!!!"

No kidding. I am a bag addict for sure!
My math skills were totally rusty since I took a 15 year break between undergrad and grad school. But it’s like riding a bike....a bit of brushing up...

It’s dusk and still the same fever from early morning. :(
I guess tomorrow will also be a day nursing my girlie back to health, and the weekend will be furious cramming since today and tomorrow were earmarked for that, while I was supposed to be on my own. Oh well, all over in less than a week, all over in less than a week.
LOVE shopping my closet and wearing the oldest bag in there, the red Dior, but...need a reason to go out! This evening to the orchestra at the conservatory will do quite nicely although not a reason to dress up since it’s going to be all other parents dressed casually for inclement weather, so no need to bump up my look at all. But at least the Dior gets to go somewhere. I love it with my new camel second-hand wool/cashmere/angora full length coat. It’s crazy how the color makes my heart go pitter patter but yet.... it is a really difficult color to wear with my closet. This is the ONE outfit out of my 30 F/W outfits that this bag does not clash with, or actually there is a second one that I wore a terra cotta bag with that this would work with as well..but still 2 out of 30 is not terribly versatile. Why do so many of you consider red a neutral? I have a red wool coat I can only wear with two outfits out of 30, and my red bag can be worn with just 2. My black cherry bag can be worn with exactly 1-2 outfits out of 30. My terra cotta bag that is like a red brown, goes with 1-2 as well. I LOVE these leather colors, yet they just don’t find much ‘footing’ with my wardrobe.
When I feel the urge for port, oxblood, burgundy, sangria, whatever you want to call it, deep gorgeous red and purple reds and the like, I remember this and realize that the 3 I have in the red family are more than enough. My plum/pink has likewise similar limited functionality with my clothes. I wear that color all the time in various shades, which means that the bag is close but not quite to many of my tops, so not a great match. But there are 2 outfits it would go with. Out of 30. Darn.
I really do wonder how purple would work, but I suspect it would be a similar situation, but I have no purple bag. I suspect that the same situation would arise where there are a few situations where a colored bag could work, but I already am using the 4 bags mentioned above to go with those few outfits, and there are not any more opportunities left to warrant ANOTHER colorful bag. I keep thinking of tangerine as a delicious color to own, but then I remember my outfits don’t allow for very many statement bags and I have them already.

Beige, taupe, cognac, brown, navy, and reluctant-to-admit-it-boring-black are really the staples that look best with my peacock clothes. So boring but so true for me and my aesthetic tastes.

ETA: I love your shoes.

Love this outfit, especially the shoes!

This is a terrific bag... in fact, the entire outfit is A+++. I like that your pink bag is such a soft and subtle color, and not a bublegum or candy pink. More of a sandy rose, if your photo colors are true. I can see this color being versatile enough to work with a lot of different outfits.

Fabulous outfit - I love your shoes and bag!:flowers:

Thank you, pocket friends! The shoes are Nine West. So cute with denim material and embroidered flowers. Got them at TJMaxx for $24.99!!!

Beautiful bag with a lovely slouch. I’m curious about this color, desert rose. On sites, on my screen, it looks like it’s light taupe. It doesn’t appear pink yet the word Rose, and your description of it as a pink bag lead me to believe that it’s pinker than I’m seeing. I’ve been tempted by the medium Veneta hobo in this color but I held back because of that word Rose.Would you describe the color in a little more detail/nuance so I “see” it a little better. Thx :)

Desert Rose is a soft and subtle pink, as @ElainePG noted. It actually leans more toward mauve than pink, which looks more sophisticated IMO. This shade definitely goes with a lot more in my wardrobe than pinker shades.

Here’s a pic taken in my vehicle with the sunroof open in morning light. The color is true.

And, for reference, here’s a pic of mauve shades that shows that Desert Rose falls in the same color family.

Shopped my closet and picked out a Bottega Veneta favorite, my Cervo Loop in Desert Rose. My only pink bag, and it’s more than enough.

I love your shoes. And the fact that you got them at a steal makes them perfect!!!!
Nice stats for November!

I'm glad my addiction is limited to bags and does not cover SLGs and charms. [emoji16][emoji111]️
Every day I thank the shopping gods that I actively dislike charms, am not motivated to buy SLG's, am very calm around shoes and am happy but measured when buying clothes. Otherwise, if I liked them as much as I do bags and jewelry, I'd be living in a box.
Hey all. I can't believe it's been 10 days since I posted here. And I've been carrying my Coach Preston that entire time. I think I've used a grand total of 3, maybe 4 bags in November. I've just had very little interest in switching or choosing or any of that. Although there are a few did not carry days in there too. I was off work the week of Thanksgiving and there were probably about 3 days that I didn't go anywhere and 2 or 3 others that I only went out for coffee or food.

I also made it through Black Friday weekend without buying a bag, and really almost nothing. I bought a couple of PDF cross stitch charts from a site that was having a sale, and that's all. A whopping $13. I didn't really have any money to spend and I'm still working on paying down my cards, not running them up.

November stats:
3 bags out - yay!
1 charm in

I think so far for 2017 I'm in 6 bags of my own and out 3. I also bought my mom 2 bags. I know I'm in a few SLGs, at least 5, maybe more. And at least 3 charms. I'm pretty sure there will be no more bags the rest of the year. Maybe a charm, but probably that's all.

Update on the medical front - they uploaded the results of my bone marrow biopsy today. I don't remember if I said at the time, but when I saw the hematologist at the beginning of November, she said there were no blood clots on either of the lung scans. Between the results and a little bit of Dr. Google, I'm thinking that all of this is connected to my asthma. High platelet count can be caused by inflammation, low platelet count is often treated with corticosteroids. Asthma is inflammation of the airways, treated with corticosteroids. Also it said a certain type of white blood cell is a little high, and it turns out that there's a specific type of asthma where that kind of cell can cause inflammation of the airways. The only other headline of sorts to come out of the results is that I might have an iron deficiency. I see the hematologist on Friday, and the pulmonologist the week after next, so they'll tell me for sure what the deal is. I won't be surprised if I get sent to be tested for an iron deficiency. And I hope I get to come off the blood thinner. Maybe the pulmonologist will have a more effective treatment for my asthma too. The wait continues.

I hope you're all doing well.
I was wondering how you are doing so I'm glad you checked in. I'm glad it seems to be something that could be manageable. But I know this is still hard on you. Wishing you answers and better health very soon!
As an owner of Silver metallic Pillow, and a very biased fan of BV in general, i vote both hands up for BV Pillow in metallic :happydance:
imvho, WOC is a mere WALLET on chain, i.e. despite nice look you hardly will be able to wear it on your puffed coats, it does not fit in much and is good for a 'run on the light' or evenings out.
just my 2 cents
I am desperate for a rose gold pillow. I'd even consider yellow gold. (I have 4 silver bags so I'm good with that color.) I haven't seen any RG on sale anywhere. :crybaby:

And I agree on WOC. I love the idea but the lack of capacity kills it for me.

Pairing my Dior with UGG Adirondack II serious boots because it is super slushy out there and mama ain’t got no time for not having cozy warm and dry feet.

Home all day today taking care of sick little. Poor thing. I only needed to get dressed this morning to take the littlest to daycare, she’s feeling fine and in the mood to clown around big time. Such a character, putting on a show constantly. Mostly physical comedy, because she’s 2 and she speaks in 2 languages but not so much enough to come up with knock knock jokes.
Her big 4 year old sister has a fever and is all snuggly and telling me over and over again that she loves me. Hope she gets well quick. I hate to see her missing out on the fun (she had plans this evening to have two best friends over, that got cancelled) but also, I need to study for my finals that I still have 3 left of!

Oh, I had a big one yesterday and I’m sure I aced it. Yay! The pressure was high to execute that one flawlessly since it was all math annd I’m the only one with a degree in math, in that class. It would be embarrassing if I messed it up.
HBG, I adore your Dior!!! This larger Miss Dior has been on my "to buy" list for a while but I haven't found a color / condition combo that works. :crybaby: Fingers crossed for 2018.

My Nov Stats. I'm trying my best to make it to Dec 4th and 4 months of no buying. :whut:

Nov
Bags In: 0
Bags Out: 4
SLG's in: 0
SLG's out: 0

YTD
Bags In: 10
Bags Out: 13
SLG's in: 2
SLG's out: 0

One of my outs is a bag I'm sending to Ann's today.

I had to correct my list. I had forgotten to include two bags that I sold this year. And, I wasn't counting the 2 bags I flipped (bought and sold) this year in my in's. But those are really important for me to track because I need to get to zero flipping / 100% appropriate buying.

That’s not a larger Miss Dior. It’s called a New Lock bag and is at least a year older than Miss Dior. It got discontinued around the same time they started introducing the first version of Miss Dior. I wish you the best luck to find this bag in the right combo.

I still have 3 bags that I'm trying to sell but I don't think they are going to. :frown: I got a very low offer on one from consignors and I don't have the bag listed at anything close to that. So it may go back into my closet. (It's still in my counts). Another is a not in demand Kate Spade. The third is a sub contemporary. I just need to donate those two if they doesn't sell during the holiday season.

When, I get back from vacation, I'm going to see what consignors will give me for the red and black Chanel bags that I want in lamb (v caviar and patent). If the prices are reasonable, I'll ship them out. Being honest, I just don't have any desire to list bags this expensive. There is too much risk of fraud. And, Chanel buyers are kooky picky. People on TPF routinely see invisible flaws that I don't see. :whut: So I don't want to deal with a NAD and potentially get the bag back with damage.

Speaking of kooky buyers. I just got an offer from someone on a pair of NIB shoes. I countered and split the difference. The buyer countered again for $2 less.

:annoyed: Really???

I declined. That type of buyer always ends up being a problem. I love haggling but at some point the back and forth is ridiculous.
