An update on my Mulberry. It's been delivered to my niece's place in Singapore on Monday. Maybe last night or early this morning her husband arrived here in the country. The thing is, he didn't bring the bag yet!! He was busy at work and also was not feeling well. So had not have the time to open the box. Much more take it with him on his flight. The waiting continues!! He'll be here again mid December. So that's the minimum time I will have to wait. He normally goes straight to the province where my niece is, so from the province to me will be another wait. [emoji18]

Hey all. I can't believe it's been 10 days since I posted here. And I've been carrying my Coach Preston that entire time. I think I've used a grand total of 3, maybe 4 bags in November. I've just had very little interest in switching or choosing or any of that. Although there are a few did not carry days in there too. I was off work the week of Thanksgiving and there were probably about 3 days that I didn't go anywhere and 2 or 3 others that I only went out for coffee or food.

I also made it through Black Friday weekend without buying a bag, and really almost nothing. I bought a couple of PDF cross stitch charts from a site that was having a sale, and that's all. A whopping $13. I didn't really have any money to spend and I'm still working on paying down my cards, not running them up.

November stats:
3 bags out - yay!
1 charm in

I think so far for 2017 I'm in 6 bags of my own and out 3. I also bought my mom 2 bags. I know I'm in a few SLGs, at least 5, maybe more. And at least 3 charms. I'm pretty sure there will be no more bags the rest of the year. Maybe a charm, but probably that's all.

Update on the medical front - they uploaded the results of my bone marrow biopsy today. I don't remember if I said at the time, but when I saw the hematologist at the beginning of November, she said there were no blood clots on either of the lung scans. Between the results and a little bit of Dr. Google, I'm thinking that all of this is connected to my asthma. High platelet count can be caused by inflammation, low platelet count is often treated with corticosteroids. Asthma is inflammation of the airways, treated with corticosteroids. Also it said a certain type of white blood cell is a little high, and it turns out that there's a specific type of asthma where that kind of cell can cause inflammation of the airways. The only other headline of sorts to come out of the results is that I might have an iron deficiency. I see the hematologist on Friday, and the pulmonologist the week after next, so they'll tell me for sure what the deal is. I won't be surprised if I get sent to be tested for an iron deficiency. And I hope I get to come off the blood thinner. Maybe the pulmonologist will have a more effective treatment for my asthma too. The wait continues.

I hope you're all doing well.

I completely forgot to change bags last night! I was still on holiday-long weekend mode.
So not only does my bag have no charm, it also has two wallets (the small one for the tea rose and the large one I've been using). I was lucky to have tossed by work badge in this bag when I put away last week's work bag.
:panic:
How's everyone doing today? Hope everyone has a great Monday!
my Monday was great - no purchases, normal work day

Hi all ... DH and I have a few family groups between us, plus our own, so Thanksgiving is a production that lasts 5 days including long drives over the river and through the woods. No Black Friday or Saturday temptations for me. I used to wish I could participate in all the shopping fun??? but now I wouldn’t do it (too much) if I could.

But yesterday, I went purse shopping all afternoon ... alone ... because next week is my birthday and I’ve been ruminating for awhile on which bag to gift myself from DH. I’ve had a hierarchy:

First up has been an LV Siena. I’ve been feeling that this bag would be my go-to winter bag ... full zipper, water resistant, crossbody plus top handles (my favorite) more EW than NS, room for those hats and gloves, but not a lugger. Viewed many videos. It has a pretty pleat in front and back. I’m out on the streets a lot during the days and I select my bag based on the weather and forecast.

Second In line would be a BV pillow in a metallic to stand out against my puffer coats (2, black.) I know BV pillow bags work well for me. This one would be mostly a dinner, out at night bag since it’s small and I need more capacity in the day during the winter ... but small though it is, I still get my gloves in there along with the regular stuff. I could even use it for one of those formal occasions.

Third up has been a WOC and my favorite is the Boy with chevron quilting perhaps silver hw. I could definitely use this bag for the serious formal occasions I go to about 5 to 6 times a year. I have sworn off clutches ... I’m always juggling whether sitting or standing. The Chevron Boy WOC is quietly elegant and I’d try to adapt it for daytime use as well.

So I went to LV, Chanel, and for fun to Mansur Gavriel, Fendi, Mulberry and Longchamp. There’s no BV nearby and I don’t think they’ve got a metallic in the current lineup anyway.

Nothing definitive came out of the day. I was a bit underwhelmed by the Siena. It runs small so I’d need the MM, which is only the size of the small Longchamp LP or Neo so ... smallish ... with the price, including tax, climbing towards 2k. I didn’t think it was a 2k bag but otherwise it would work well as my winter bag. Also, the SA made a mistake by leaving me alone to play with it. That bag could have used a little mystique created around it but I just gave it a cut and dried once over and moved on to Chanel.

I do love the WOCs that I saw (no chevron but others that were very appealing) and yet today Yoogi’s had, I think, 2 Boy WOCs at a 15% discount and I didn’t move. I’m hesitant to buy that little guy for so few occasions. I’ve gotten my daily carry to 2-3 small pouches, a very small wallet, glasses case and a charger and even if I were to use the WOC as a wallet, the other stuff wouldn’t fit. A year or so ago, I would have bought it for those occasions but realizing that I can't really use the bags I have enough as it is, looks like it might be a no for this one.

I bought a Longchamp Neo satchel, small in black, to use in the winter weather meantime. I came home and tricked it out with a base shaper and a leather strap so it has presence beyond its LC origen.

Then today I got online and found a metallic pillow (kmax had pointed me in a direction and then ... eBay!)

So this has been a bit of a saga but then I rarely go into my process. Being on this thread has been very helpful in my understanding of how much I use and don’t use the bags I already own. Pretty much, I’m attached to all of them except the few that are in my shopping bag of Doom so I have to be really careful what I bring in next. And I AM thinking about that ban. I know it would be so healthy for me to use my bags for a full year, optimistically, so I get to know them so well and they show some WEAR. Then I would be ready for new purchases.

Whew... long post. Feel free to comment on anything within it
As an owner of Silver metallic Pillow, and a very biased fan of BV in general, i vote both hands up for BV Pillow in metallic :happydance:
imvho, WOC is a mere WALLET on chain, i.e. despite nice look you hardly will be able to wear it on your puffed coats, it does not fit in much and is good for a 'run on the light' or evenings out.
just my 2 cents

Pairing my Dior with UGG Adirondack II serious boots because it is super slushy out there and mama ain’t got no time for not having cozy warm and dry feet.

Home all day today taking care of sick little. Poor thing. I only needed to get dressed this morning to take the littlest to daycare, she’s feeling fine and in the mood to clown around big time. Such a character, putting on a show constantly. Mostly physical comedy, because she’s 2 and she speaks in 2 languages but not so much enough to come up with knock knock jokes. :)
Her big 4 year old sister has a fever and is all snuggly and telling me over and over again that she loves me. Hope she gets well quick. I hate to see her missing out on the fun (she had plans this evening to have two best friends over, that got cancelled) but also, I need to study for my finals that I still have 3 left of!

Oh, I had a big one yesterday and I’m sure I aced it. Yay! The pressure was high to execute that one flawlessly since it was all math annd I’m the only one with a degree in math, in that class. It would be embarrassing if I messed it up.

Burgundy and Bordeaux sound and look like pretty, warm and rich wine colors, but oxblood ... only the British can do a great oxblood. When I was in Mulberry on Sunday, I was smitten by their oxblood satchels, buckets and the WOC and small bag lines. Beautiful color (as was oak) not at all the weird brown/red that I associate with school uniforms .
that's what i always say - nobody does Oxblood the way Mulberry does it!

Shopped my closet and picked out a Bottega Veneta favorite, my Cervo Loop in Desert Rose. My only pink bag, and it’s more than enough.

heart melting cervo... :hbeat:
I believe I’m safe for the remainder of November.

0 bags in, 0 bags out.
0 SLGs in, 7 SLGs out.

I bought a lot of charms but who’s counting those? [emoji23] I did use them all though.

ETA:
I am at 4 of 5 months in 2017 of no bags and SLGs. December has to be a 0 in month to make my goal.

I have used all my charms, twillies, and SLGs! [emoji119] goal met! I just have to use what comes in.

The cost per wear resolution was highly ambitions. My older bags and my LCs are under $10 cpw, but I have to work on getting closer to that goal for the rest of my collection. But most of them should be under $100 cpw easily. [emoji4]

Originally I was allowing 20 bags and 20 Longchamp Le Pliage. Now my goal is to keep my bag count to 30. I am at 29! [emoji119]
well done!!!!

It’s hard to wait when you know they have it! But also people have a life outside of delivering bags for us so we have to be patient I guess. I hope the bag is perfect and exactly what you want!

Thanks sora & msd
She’s sipping tea while I read about applying game theory to potential policy for prostitution. :)
Luckily these last exams are about economic concepts I can explain in words, not quite as exacting as the exam I nailed yesterday which was ten game theory math problems that take an entire page and at least 10 minutes to work out and have a zillion ways they can get messed up if you aren’t careful and haven’t practiced the calculus a million times. That’s just a ton of practice to be able to execute, so it’s like the equivalent of doing a ton of addition. Takes the sheer force of hours of repetition.
These last exams I just need to reread journal articles and lecture notes and be sure I have a clear idea of the economic ideas, and be able to say something intelligible, essay-style, for two hours of writing with pencil and paper, per exam. The worst part is how sore my hand is from writing with a pencil! I wish my professor would get digital and let us do it on a computer. But I’m not too concerned that I’ll fall flat with the material, none of it relies exclusively on calculus or anything that might be hard to remember without a crap ton of practice hours before hand. Just masters level microeconomics applied with a political science spin.
Most of the topics are pretty effective at cooling down my longing to move back to the US. Healthcare problems in the US and crime issues (guns especially) are such cold water on my head when I’m longing to raise my family in my home country. So that’s good , I guess.... I still hate the country I live in. :/
