2014 resolution - shopping from my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

As I was entering my list on my phone I realized I did not enter a bag I had tried to sell earlier in the year. I really did not want to keep it so I made a dirt cheap price and put it on my local yard sale site. It sold with in five minutes. I will deliver it tomorrow . I am so happy. If it goes off without a hitch I will try to get rid of more things that way. I had tried once before but always listed them so early in the morning nobody probably ever saw them. If your looking to get rid of cheaper stuff try your areas site. This will bring me up to 9 bags out this month and one bag in. Also one slg out.

That's amazing. I have a big brown suede weekender bag I need to get rid of but not sure what to do with it. I was just going to do ebay but might do craigslist instead now.

My list is ridiculously detailed but I will cut/paste from my notepad & share the method to my madness... These are the 9 purses I'm planning to keep, then I'll add a Sukey and a TBD red bag to have 11 total

XB can wear cross body, S on the shoulder, TH top handle, T for Tote
€ for canvas or £ for leather

Love it! I would totally do the same. I made a board on my Pinterest app (secret of course) so when I'm out and I have an urge I can look at that to see if I have anything like it. It's helped but man oh man how that list grew this year. Yikes!

Basically the economics in Austin have changed drastically from when I moved to Chicago in 2008 so for the level of what we're willing to spend and the locations that we deem acceptable to downtown, we will be looking at fixer uppers. I renovated my old condo so a decorating project doesn't worry me but if our price level is actually more like tear down condition....we're doing some side research on what home building means as a backup plan. One of my Chicago BFFs happens to be an architect and has been fantastically helpful on the "what does it take to build a home" front

That's awesome! I would love to build a dream home but if we ever did that here we'd have to move a bit. Just not a lot of extra lots around us. We are doing an addition at the moment that is taking forever. Each step of the process is taking longer than the one before.

The more I'm in a brown bag the more I'm aware I don't wear many brown clothes, especially when it's in the 80s again. Ugh! Going to be moving into my new black bag. It'll match more for everyday use.

There were some very pretty bag own, but my favorite was the Burberry. I love red color

For me it's exactly 4 months since my last purchase and I feel that I am getting restless, starting to browse the webpages again but still staying strong and didn't buy anything from Tory Burch sale, although there were some nice things. Probably will not manage through the holiday season.

Thanks Amor! The Cassis Epi is really pretty. LV made all kinds of purple Epi pieces with the pink interior that year. They also did the opposite & made pink Epi (I think called Grenache?) with purple interior too. I'm still completely obsessed with my Vernis Zippy wallet for everyday use & plan to use my Epi organizer as a clutch or when traveling/need to carry my passport

Also I really like the Burberry outlined in red. I agree that it's a little on the busy side but paired with a neutral outfit, it's fabulous! Count me in with Mimmy as wanting to shop your closet

I sent my first donation to the Fashion Project this week. I'm curious to see if I get credit for any of my items. I only sent in items on their accepted designer list. I'm kicking myself for just giving a Karen Zambos dress to the Goodwill, as this was on the list. Oh well, live and learn. I'm still glad that I'm continuing to control my closet though!

Oh, and because of the above, I'm 3 slg's out and no bags or slg's in this month. It's killing me!

Congrats on your Fashion Project donation! Let us know the outcome as I am curious too but don't have anything worthy to donate. It is a shame about the Karen Zambos dress but as you said, now you know.

I love my Cole Haan bags because they are so well made too. Your burberry is very pretty, but if you do not love it you could sell it.

Thank you DC. Both bags were bought before I "really" got into bags. I wasn't very good at picking bags at that time so I just bought what was on sale and what I liked without considering what I already had or how I was going to use it. I am going to give my burberry another try. I haven't reached for it in a couple of years but it may be due to the fact that I didn't have the right outfits when I carried it in the past. I've gotten so much better at coordinating since I've been on this forum and pinterest. I was a hot mess before. My DH even told me my clothes were out of style about eight years back. I bet he's sorry he opened his mouth now...:lolots:

Hoping to add some new bag brands onto the wall! Haha. But eventually, it's showing me I have to stop, I'm running out of room on the wall, in my closet...

I have been meaning to go to Vegas, especially since I'm a fan of Cirque du Soleil. But adding up all the shows I wanted to see was adding up to a pretty penny, so I put it off in preference over my London trips. Depending on where I go next year, I may squeeze in Vegas. It is super close. And foood. Oh goodness. I desperately need to lose this weight so I can go eat.

D: You get Dior at your optometrist?! I'm so sad that Lenscrafters stopped carrying Chanel frames when I was finally earning a real salary and not on a sad intern salary. Lol.

But your Cole Haan and Burberry are so cute!! I actually wanted a tote with the red trim. I see why it's hard to wear, it seems to be a brighter red too which would make it harder to coordinate with.

But then I thought about bags. I've had gone through Macy's, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales, and a lot of bags just don't catch my attention anymore. Is it because I have it "all" or something similar? Or perhaps my obsession is waning? It was a bit eye opening, which is now clearer as I have my new prescription. lol.

I too would choose London over Vegas. I only go to keep DH company and can't handle more than a weekend. Otherwise, I will go into a shopping and food coma. I really like Cirque too, but I think I've seen one too many (if that makes any sense). Guess there's only so many ways one can twist, turn, jump, swing, etc. before they kinda all blend in together...lol...of course I can't do any of those things so I need to stop being so critical.

My optometrist seems to have all the name brands. No wonder glasses cost me a small fortune, even with insurance...lol.

You are not interested in other bags because you are waiting for your evelyn, and that's a good thing.

Thanks for the info bake. Since I am doing the two hour drive for the tote , my DH said I should make an appointment for my eyes too. So question is with a square face and auburn curly hair what color glasses should I get ?

I always have the staff help me because there are too many options. My current pair are the frameless glasses because I am vain and don't want to look like I am wearing glasses; hence I spend all my money on contacts.

These are both very pretty Amor! I love the red trim on the Burberry, you could wear that with so much, black, navy, red, gray, she is a beauty!

Thank you all for the list love! I do not necessarily advocate my level of OCD in writing out lists, I think it stems from my professional background in business development strategy & project management. Now I'm just applying it to my personal life, lol

On the home front DH came up with the potentially genius idea to build a home so we have spent much of the last two weeks scouting empty lots. Potentially trespassing :shame:

Hm, I priced something at 120 and got offered with 80. I countered back 110 since it was in brand-new condition...part of me can't let it go for such a low price and part of me is thinking I should have just countered lower and sold it... granted it's only be listed for half a day...feel torn
