Hi ladies. I just got my 19 fresh from the store but there is no date code anywhere inside . Is this normal!? Do any of you not have a date code anywhere in your bags ?? Thank you so much for your help
Hi I bought mine last month - no authenticity card and no date in bag just a small gold square on the front inside of the bag that Chanel can now scan when needed.

Oh thank you so much!!! I actually didn’t even notice that I also don’t have an authenticity card. So strange. Is this a new system they’re using now for all bags or is it just the 19?

All bags - They can now scan the bag and I believe my SA said they would be able to look up your info and the date it was bought. Actually I don’t know if she meant seasonal bags too? But assume she did as she said no more authenticity cards.

omg!! complete opposites, what the heck?! my black goatskin is so sturdy, and my lamb is super floppy haha. I took out the stuffing and stood them up, my lamb is like collapsing into itself! I’m so jealous of yours!! btw, which are you keeping?View attachment 5151518
I am keeping the lambskin.Your beige lamb in pic looks shiner than your goatskin - and My goatskin is shinder than my new Lambskin!!! But my lambskin has a nice sheen to it too! I just wish I could always see the bag I am purchasing in person and not have to have it sent from an out of state boutique. But The more I look at my Lambskin I love it. The very top of the sides (the harder curved part) is so sturdy when I push down the sides of the bag don’t move. But the goatskin one does.

ahhh yay congrats on the decision! the lamb leather feels so good doesn’t it? I’d definitely keep the sturdier one as well, I do worry about the long term shape of my slouchy one. but I honestly love both of mine haha, I’m just obsessed with the 19 altogether. I’m a pretty casual dresser and the back pocket and crossbody option are a game changer for me. I do find it extremely odd that my goat and lamb are the exact opposite of your goat and lamb! enjoy your new bag :girlsigh:

Wow that is so interesting. So I guess now when you’re buying second hand or from a reseller there is so no way for you to know when the bag was made unless you go to the store and have them scan it? Also, I wonder how would third party authenticators be able to do that scan and actually authenticate a bag?

Good questions - I read there doing this because there are so many fakes but I also heard that it’s because they want to slow down the reseller market. I always save my tags with my authenticity card - I have sold several bags to fashionphile and always include the tags but Fashionphile said they never get the tags unless its new. With the tag you would then know what series it is and look up the year. Therefore resellers in the future will just go by what the seller tells them. But as a buyer I would think you would want to be sure to know how old the bag is before you buy it.

I have to share the news my fellow 19 bag lovers!! I did it!!! I finally sprayed my 19 lamb in grey and CF caviar in ivory today with Collonil Pro after watching the latest Always Antonette video. She has the same 19 bag as me in 21a grey and so that gave me confidence to spray.

No stains, no discoloration, no nothing!!!! Texture and softness of bag is still the same!!! It just happens to be lightly drizzling outside and so I bravely tested the 19 out... see photos where I have circled the rain drops beading on the bag!!!!!!! Now definitely a piece of mind!! I still won't take it out when it's pouring rain but know that if I'm caught in a rain event, I have time to go take cover without overly concern of my bag! Highly recommend the product!!!

I watched her video too!! and bought. The spray from amazon tried it on my light grey seasonal city walk bag that I bought in January of this year - same no discoloration at all - just did the back and a day after shook a few drops of water on the back and beaded up and rolled off - will now do the rest of the bag but still do not want to get any on the bright gold hardware. I just bought a lambskin black 19 and thinking of spraying that too (even though don’t have to worry about color transfer) but to protect against a few rain drops. Did you spray your hardware like she did?

Hi just recently bought my first 19 bag. Is there a right way to store the bag? I am storing it lying flat on the back due to concern the heavy chain handle may cause imprint on the bag and also the bag losing its structure. Thanks everyone
My SA gave me a white dustbag for mine- however I do not put my chain in the dust bag or in the bag - I store it standing up with a zoomoni organizer inside and tissue paper in the organizer. I have it on a self and leave the chain pulled out from the sides and leave it on felt behind the bag so it isn’t touching the bag and therefore is not denting or weighing the bag down. The chain handle I wrap with a small piece of flet and leave it hanging on the back of the bag.
