Today I thought I’d saddle up my Tauntaun with Selle des Steppes. Makes a change from yesterday’s Selle Imaginaire.
What a fun scarf! I’ve always admired its borders. This almost looks like two different scarves!
The last few days I have rotate these scarves for my daily walk
Pareo for a hot day
A 45 to keep my neck warm and/or to hide my bra straps( three surf fun)
A male collection muffler

Well done! And, here I thought we wouldn't be able to find a trash compactor on an Hermes scarf. ;)

According to Wookiepedia the creature is a Dianoga.

Today is May the Fourth, or Star Wars Day. May the Force be with You!

A Star Wars movie is distinguished by having a war using spaceships between the stars. Many of the movies open with a battle scene in space and starships flying all about. Revenge of the Sith has a notably colorful opening space battle sequence.

RevengeoftheSithOpening.jpg

A starship with a hyperdrive can skip around the galaxy at faster than the speed of light. Now, that is the way to travel!

Here is a small starport on the volcanic planet Navarro, with a few starships parked just outside the city. This reminds me of some of my local airports.

SpacePortMerged.jpg

Yes, that's me from a few years ago with our flying club Piper Lance. It goes considerably slower than the speed of light.

The starships in Star Wars are many and varied, but the Millennium Falcon, flown by Han Solo, is arguably the best known.

Millenium Falcon.jpg

Here I am wearing my Millennium Falcon t-shirt along with Tigre Royal Fleuri for a game at the local ballpark.

Tigreroyalfleuri.jpg

On Star Wars Night at the ballpark, you can see many Star Wars characters milling about. Even our baseball players are renamed for the occasion.

StarwarsBaseball.jpg

The Space Shuttle was a spaceship, capable of flying in orbit and returning to Earth. It is pictured on Reves d'Espace.

SpaceShuttle.jpg

Here are my two Reves d'Espace, the regular issue on the right is green, and the Breitling Limited Edition on the left is orange.

RevesMerged.jpg

Dreams of Space certainly fits our theme for the week. It can come in many forms. Here is Prince Harry on the set of The Last Jedi. He is clearly thrilled to be getting A-Wing flight instruction from Luke Skywalker himself.

PrinceHarry.jpg

My scarf for Star Wars Day is a new-to-me Sous L'Egide de Mars which celebrates the armor so prevalent in Star Wars. In addition, I've added my Mandalorian Mythosaur skull pendant.

Happy Star Wars Day to all, and May the Force be with You!

Coming to you live from a work seminar in Atlanta. I packed exactly two pieces - Jaguar quetzal shawl for my flight and space derby. Will not be able to post this week but wanted to add my space derby to this amazing theme. @Redbirdhermes your posts and insights are amazing! Thank you !!

Foxy - If you only pack one 90 for the trip this week, Space Derby is the one! You look amazing. Thank you for your kind comments, your wonderful photos, and have a great day.

Happy Star Wars Day, dear scarfies! May the Force be with you!

In honour of my nerdiness, let's talk about the famous speeder bike sequence in the forest of Endor. It was filmed using a Steadicam, a piece of equipment that was revolutionary for its time (yes, I get excited over broadcast equipment the way others get excited over a Birkin - the cost is about the same :woot: )

Film video is shot at 24 frames per second. For the speeder bike sequence, the cameraman walked through the forest capturing video at 1 frame per second. Once the footage was played at normal speed, we get the astonishingly dizzy fast trip through the trees. The Steadicam (object of my affection  - swoon!!!) uses an arm and gimbal rig to hold the camera steady when filming on uneven terrain. The actors were then filmed on a speeder bike in front of a chroma key background, and then the two or more images were combined using optical layering.
Some zoom zoom images on my Bolides
Picsart_22-05-04_22-03-45-859.jpg
My actual scarf today: Dress Code - using the more wildly coloured side with aliens and humanoids. And wearing one of my many Star Wars Tshirts.

I love all of this! My dad was an aeronautical engineer and worked on the space shuttle (boing boing effect, no joke) and while I started collecting after he passed he would have been delighted with RdS

Fabulous!
In the first movie (episode 4) there was an x-wing fighter buried in the swamps of Dagobah, and Yoda used it to teach Luke how to use the Force to levitate it out of the water.

Kermit Oliver’s Vie au Sauvage isn’t as dank as Dagobah but I’m envisioning an x-wing plane just below the surface.

Mega congratulations on your new red-hemmed Pytheas @Karenska! What a beautiful addition to your collection. And your absolutely lovely Carreve is TDF.
I'm an original trilogy fan. You could say Star Wars set me on my career path. It awakened in me an interest in all aspects of TV and movie production. While my friends were reading Cosmopolitan, I was devouring American Cinematographer. Although I never did become a visual effects specialist, I did end up joining a media company.

Stars Wars: A New Hope begins on the desert planet of Tatooine. Luke meets Obiwan Kenobi when the latter scares off some Tusken Raiders. The heavily cloaked nomadic tribe are reminescent of our desert dwellers, although Banthas are much more scarier than horses!

Oh, this is such a wonderful tie-in @xincinsin -- and a beautiful Leila to boot!
I've yet to wear mine like this. Lovely with a summer Navy tee and do I spy Navy checked pants? I believe I have some as well.
 Yes it is gingham pants and shorts season for me once the temperature stays above 75! I would love to see how you style Space Derby @MAGJES! It is a fun scarf.
Fresh off a zoom meeting and inspired by the theme, Space Derby in Bleu Ciel/Rose/Vert amande. Plus two I’ve not seen posted yet, A l’Ombre des Pivoines with its floating city scapes and Les Legendes De L'Arbre in Rose Vif/Framboise/Bleu with creatures and gardens from galaxies “far far away”
Beautiful @de vent and I am a recent twin on that gorgeous bronze "Pivoines" -- love your styling of it.
Today I thought I’d saddle up my Tauntaun with Selle des Steppes. Makes a change from yesterday’s Selle Imaginaire.
Great-- I a glad you posted this one because it came to mind for me as well. I liked your analysis of why these scarves work for you...
Twins with your Space Derby as well. When I first took on this weekly subject, I thought that this was one of the very few scarves on topic. Luckily, with a little more thought, other connections came to mind.
I'll say! Many more connections that hav made this so much fun for us all @Redbirdhermes -- and always happy to be twins! :hugs:
The last few days I have rotate these scarves for my daily walk
