Sorry, it's fake. Some of the construction details are wrong, some of ths stitching is badly done, the hardware isn't what Coach uses, the serial number is invalid, and there are other problems too, like the crooked and badly sewn creed patch.

No, it's not worth rehabbing, you'd just be wasting your time and money. Counterfeits can't legally be sold or traded anywhere in the US or most other countries either.

Thank you! That is what I thought, which is part of why it’s been living in the back for my closet. I grateful you confirmed my suspicions!!

Hi can you please authenticate this bag? It says that its cheaper because it is from factory.

Item: pink monogram totes handbag
Seller and site: kimberryshop at carousell
Link: Cool find: Ready Stock authentic coach 58292 in pink monogram totes handbag for RM380 https://carousell.app.link/26chJV8yJbb
Measurement: 42*26*19cm
I don't see any obvious problems with this item but I recommend extreme caution when buying from Carousell. I've seen a lot of fakes listed and sold on that site and some sellers with very close fakes.

Hello Authenticators,
It looks like I'm posting the second Crescent Legacy bag to be checked out today. I'm nervous after reading what Hyacinth said about the black one. I hope this one is ok. I bought it last week so I could switch straps with my other legacy but the strap is too short for a crossbody and since the bag is way too big for me, I'd like to sell it and find something else. I'm crossing my fingers. Thanks in advance!

Item: Coach Crescent Legacy 9718 ?
Purchased: ShopGoodwill
Dimensions: 12.5″ x 9″ x 4″

There's no need to be nervous about this one. It's good, and made in 2003. The creed has the correct wording and the serial number has the correct year and plant location, which the other one didn't. It was also one of the first Coach styles to change from the turnlock with 4 prongs to the new style with 2 small screws.

Coach's official name was Legacy Crescent.

Thanks so much for the info Hyacinth!! I feel better now. Have a great evening.

Good afternoon, here's an Italian bag that seems authentic to me except for it doesn't have a serial number. It's posted for sale locally. I appreciate the opinions!View attachment 4915753View attachment 4915754View attachment 4915755

I don't recognise the style at all. Not only is it impossible to authenticate, but there's a good chance it isn't genuine.

Any bag that size made between 1994 and mid-2014 should ALWAYS have a serial number. I'm also concerned that the creed stamping is crooked. It also doesn't seem to fit with any of the Italy-made style lines Coach made during that late 1990s time period. There's nothing "up-market" or unusual or even slightly exotic that would have required it to be made in Italy, any of the US or offshore plants like Costa Rica could have made it just as easily and probably more cheaply than Italy.

The Italy plant seems to have disappeared from Coach history after around 2004 except for a tiny handful of bags made of exotic leathers like Ostrich and Alligator, but even the Exotics were eventually re-sourced to a plant or plants in the Far East. So even the time frame that bag might have been made in is impossible to figure out. If this bag was actually made by Coach it would have been some time in the late 1990s and there's no way it would have been released for sale without a serial number and if it had, it would have been sent to the outlets.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying that bag.

ETA - I have a vague recollection of someone asking about a similar bag with an Italy creed somewhere, maybe even at the Fashion board at Ebay. IIRC, one or two authenticators felt it wasn't genuine while "someone else" kept insisting that it was. I don't think the matter was ever decided, and as happens so often, "someone" may have thrown a hissy fit and the thread might even have been removed. I'll have to see if it's still there when I have some spare time.

Thank you for the detailed response, Hyacinth! Everything you've said makes sense to me. I was not going to buy the bag, but I was very curious about that missing serial number as I've never seen it before in a full-size bag from mid- to late 90s. Appreciate your opinion!

I have a made in Italy bag, a Gramercy satchel, that is missing a number. I showed it here when I got it, and we agreed it was probably authentic. I love that bag.

Please authenticate these coach bags. I purchased 2 Vintage Coach Dinky bags. They were both made in NYC.
