No, I don't think it is too trendy. I assume YSL will make variations for a few years. I have the large size in both black and chocolate ostrich (a real investment!). I have quite a few bags right now that I rotate in and out, but the muse is one of my favorites.

It is also a bag that you don't need to be "afraid" of...I used my Chloe Betty bag this weekend and have a few scratches in the leather (the leather is so soft and almost fragile). The muse is a bit textured so it resists scratches and such to a greater degree.

The handles on the L muse are longer than the XL, so it can be worn on either the arm or the shoulder (no or only light coat, I think).

I had a chance today to see all three sizes in just about every color. The oversized one is not as big as it looks on all the celebs... I think it's just that they're so tiny! It's still too big for my taste but it's not totally outrageous. I agree with SoCal that the L is just perfect. I'm not sure I love it but it's quite nice.

I also saw the moss and anthrite (?) colors in addition to black, tan (amaretto), and cream. The cream is so lovely, but they all are actually.

I like the size of the XL but I have to be able to carry on my shoulder so that would mean the Large or Med. would work best for me! Moss, wow haven't seen that color yet, but I'm sure it is gorgeous too.

The moss is kind of medium in shade and the name is a good description. It's not really olive. Maybe in between olive and sage? Very pretty but wouldn't really work for me.

The small (actually called medium) is 9½"H X 14"L X 2"W. I definitely could be wrong but I *think* the medium only comes in black and white. I saw the chocolate over the weekend (gorgeous!) but I think it was the large.

Ok thanks..would the large be too big for a petite gal, 5'2? I think I look sort of impish when I carry around a huge ol' bag. I bought an LV Ribera MM and everyone's thoughts including my own were that it was way to big on me.

I don't think so at all. There is quite a bit of difference between the oversized and large but not much difference between large and medium. The large is 10"H X 14½"L X 2"W so that's only like 1/2" difference in height and length.

FYI, the Houston YSL store has the chocolate in what I *think* is the large and the chocolate ostrich too. So pretty!!! I happened to have the number right here as the S/A gave me her card... 713-840-7006. lol *enables*

Where do you live? If there is no YSL boutique in your state, no tax!
