Momasaurus, I think I might have returned the same scarf for the same reason about a month ago! The listing did not say how badly faded it was. I was quite disappointed. I took many pictures to document in case there was a dispute. Because it was a Grail, I jumped to buy without asking for more detailed photos and description. Shipping it back to Japan cost me $60 - an .

I feel for you about footing a hefty postage bill for returning a poorly described item.
I had also to pay a 'handling charge' from our blasted Royal Mail for allowing me to collect said poor item from the sorting office.
It wasn't even a grail …...:crybaby:

I have another Grail on the bay but the seller declined my request for more detailed photos, and even though I desperately want it, I refuse to buy it without satisfying my doubts.
Oh, sister!! That is the same scarf. And I did the same thing - hit BIN without thoroughly researching. As I wrote, it was fun/weird/disconcerting to have a grail and then return it. But it's pretty hard to hide one brown corner, LOL. Stay strong resisting the one you don't have good pictures of.....I love our community here. :tpfrox:

Oh my goodness, this really is bad. Wow. Astounding that the seller doesn't disclose this in the listing. You'd think they'd learn after multiple returns for exactly the same reason. Maybe they figure that eventually, someone will just be unwilling to put in the effort and keep it. Horrible.

I will not do business with a seller who doesn't respond to simple questions or willingly/happily provide additional pictures when asked. There is simply no excuse for it and a big red flag for me. So I completely agree with you and PbP (below) on this.

I just found and won my one and only mousseline grail. It's been offered before, but this time made available by a premier reseller in pristine condition. Will post a picture when it arrives.

That's very exciting! I cannot wait to hear what it is and to see!

I'm so sorry that this happened to you both. That's really terrible. Like you I learned from my one bad experience on eBay. I now must see the entire scarf open. A seller refused to add photos for me recently too so I walked away especially because they were overseas and returns would be expensive and inconvenient.

It is so much harder when it's something you really love that doesn't come up often, but your experience teaches us an important lesson on that. Marietouchet is forever reminding us to be sure of condition. But sometimes, the heart takes over the head.

I would very much like to know the name of this seller in order to avoid them. If you're willing to share, either here or (more appropriately) on the ebay sellers thread. It could spare a lot of people a lot of trouble, because where there's smoke there's fire.

PS: On a happier note, I am wearing my very first and still my grailiest of grails today! L'Ivresse. I will post a picture later today. I love it as much today as I did the first time I saw it on our dear AnnaE.

I think you did the right thing!

Can't wait to see which one it is!

Note that the seller, who is quite honest, lists the condition as a 7, which to me is a warning sign.
That was what I thought also!!
