Hi everyone. This is a Grail that I had actually given up on completely. I had never seen it for sale until now. And then it appeared. It is fleurs d'indiennes in Mai tai's colorway. It's such a bright fun summery scarf. Glad I found it. I really think I'm done with all of the grails that I started with now including the ones that I had given up on, but who knows. New grails happen all the time.

Colors are gorgeous and looks terrific on you. I love the contrast hem.

Triplets with you and MT if it all works out, fingers crossed

Ok I'll ask everyone's opinion on this: the fleurs d'indiennes was listed as excellent condition preowned. The photos were very carefully taken not to show one corner. I paid just over 500. There were other bidders as well. It arrived and had very obvious stains splattered in that one corner. They were very obvious. There was no way the seller missed them and her photographs carefully avoided showing that corner. I was able to get them out by about 80%. They are still there but less visible. It's wearable. I wrote her a note promptly stating that I thought it was a bit unfair to not be honest about the spots. To her credit she has offered a full refund or $15 credit to have it dry cleaned. Dry cleaning will not solve the problem. I asked for 10% refund. What do you think is reasonable in a case like this? Here's a photograph, there are several more spots like this. Notice the largest one on the pink flower. Lesson learned: make sure you can see all portions of the scarf clearly.

Well it's a moot point. She won't budge. Live and learn. But do not trust this seller. Ask for more photos and be very skeptical. The listing was very dishonest. Her eBay user name is stephikins.

$15 is not adequate. Your request of 10% was reasonable as that's what it would cost to send it to one of the two H cleaners in NYC. Shame on the seller.

This is such a perfect colorway of this scarf. You look as if you just stepped off your jet from a trip to Madras. haha. It looks stunning on you!

About those spots, OUCH! I cannot believe she will not budge and give you at least some of the money back. You paid well over retail for a scarf that is clearly not perfect. I have never shopped for this design so I am unaware of how rare it is in this colorway. Do you think you could find another one if you return it for a full refund? If so, I would likely return it. If you love it and have waited many years for it to show up [in ANY condition] than it may be worth it to keep it, try and get those stains out as much as possible, and just live and learn. :shucks:

Those spots are pretty obvious and should have been disclosed. Given that, your 10% seems reasonable on your side.
Only you can decide to return for refund, or keep as is and always tie so that corner is hidden.

Thank you both for the feedback. I thought it was a reasonable request. I'm going to keep it because it's so hard to find in this colorway. Live and learn. The spots are faint now. I can wear it. I wrote a negative review on the eBay sellers thread, which I have never done before. Avoid stephikins. This was obvious dishonesty.

I worked with her about 10-15 years ago and was satisfied with my item. That being said, I think your request was quite reasonable. eBay can be such a swamp for both sellers and buyers.

Hopefully you will enjoy this scarf and forget about this experience.

I would think twice about working with her in the future.

Thanks etoupe Birkin. Good advice.

Pocketbook Pup—You are having an amazing run for grail scarves. The Brazil badhani is superb. I studied it in the store, and it's a well done example of the art form. And the Fleur d'Indiennes! I adore this design. I treasure my examples.

In my own grail and treasure hunting, I've been very much on lurk mode. It's so hard to be patient. But finally my patience bore fruit, and I recently found a third example of the Jamdhani stole I love so much. This one is ivory (all three of mine have an ivory base) with navy embroidery. I worried it would be in awful condition (the price was ridiculously low) but I haven't found anything of concern. Happiness. :cloud9:

You did the right thing and I appreciate your warning about this seller. Keeping the scarf was the right decision because it's impossible to find this scarf, although a 10% refund would have been nice.
I will admit to seeing the spots on your reveal photos but I didn't wish to spoil your joy. The seller was dishonest not to disclose the spots. It's good that they faded at least.
I hope that you will enjoy your beautiful scarf 💕
