So happy to be your twin. It was love at first sight for me. I have been watching it for a while. I was going to wait to get it in Paris but didn't want to risk it.
Pirula is a great enabler isn't she?
It's probably good that you didn't wait. This is an older season scarf, I want to say from 2014 but would have to check the 2014 scarf thread. I didn't think much of it until Quelle Frommage pointed it out so perhaps my taste has changed the past few years. It is gorgy though and my first special silk.
I'm going to send my H bills to Pirula from now on.
Just breathtaking! I had completely missed this- thank you for sharing- how very special!!!!!!We have talked about this item a bit here lately. It's a current piece. I have wanted it since I first saw it. I started this project to clean out things in my closet that I don't use. So I thought when I made enough from the proceeds I would buy this. Today it arrived. The Brazil bandhini. It's more colorful and beautiful than expected. It came in a special box and it says to be careful of due transfer from the natural indigo dye. DH is an aging hippie and grateful dead fan. His response: oh yeah. A tie dye. 🙄

It's a knock-out scarf and makes me think of fireworks in a midnight sky.
What a lovely grail, and so pleased you've got it.
I love this thread!
You are so kind. Thank you.
Congrats on the Brazil Bandhini it is a treasure and one you'll wear a lot I think.
Is it fragile in itself ? It is really intriguing!
Thank you everyone for sharing my joy. It's not that special BJS just a bigger box lined in indigo paper with the story of how it is made

Ok if the indigo tie dye on the scarf might run ...
Then will the indigo dye in the paper get onto the scarf ???
Wow, what a great scarf! Looks lovely on you!Thank you. No I don't think it is fragile at all. The knots are removed after the dying process so it essentially is the same texture as any dip dye. Just a bit more elaborate in its coloration. I think it might perhaps be less tolerant of water because of the natural indigo dye.
Someone requested more photos so here are two more decent ones that I managed.
