Pocketbook Pup—You are having an amazing run for grail scarves. The Brazil badhani is superb. I studied it in the store, and it's a well done example of the art form. And the Fleur d'Indiennes! I adore this design. I treasure my examples.

In my own grail and treasure hunting, I've been very much on lurk mode. It's so hard to be patient. But finally my patience bore fruit, and I recently found a third example of the Jamdhani stole I love so much. This one is ivory (all three of mine have an ivory base) with navy embroidery. I worried it would be in awful condition (the price was ridiculously low) but I haven't found anything of concern. Happiness. :cloud9:
This is the prettiest one of your three dear . Congrats on your treasure!

How very beautiful! Congratulations, please model it when you wear it. And thank you.

You did the right thing and I appreciate your warning about this seller. Keeping the scarf was the right decision because it's impossible to find this scarf, although a 10% refund would have been nice.

I will admit to seeing the spots on your reveal photos but I didn't wish to spoil your joy. The seller was dishonest not to disclose the spots. It's good that they faded at least.

I hope that you will enjoy your beautiful scarf [emoji177]

Thank you. I'm at peace with it.

Agreed.

She was dishonest and did not deal with the situation adequately. She's on my "no buy" list. Sucks for her. I'm glad you were able to at least make it wearable.

Arabesques, that is exquisite. Delighted you found such a beauty.

Ok I'll ask everyone's opinion on this: the fleurs d'indiennes was listed as excellent condition preowned. The photos were very carefully taken not to show one corner. I paid just over 500. There were other bidders as well. It arrived and had very obvious stains splattered in that one corner. They were very obvious. There was no way the seller missed them and her photographs carefully avoided showing that corner. I was able to get them out by about 80%. They are still there but less visible. It's wearable. I wrote her a note promptly stating that I thought it was a bit unfair to not be honest about the spots. To her credit she has offered a full refund or $15 credit to have it dry cleaned. Dry cleaning will not solve the problem. I asked for 10% refund. What do you think is reasonable in a case like this? Here's a photograph, there are several more spots like this. Notice the largest one on the pink flower. Lesson learned: make sure you can see all portions of the scarf clearly.

Hey PP, I have stained scarves and had Hermes send it out for cleaning. They always came back spotless. That said, the stain on your scarf looks old and may have set. Next time I would recommend not trying to get a stain out yourself. You never know if the seller will use that against you ie that you might have made it worse.

As for the FdI, it is lovely. I think it's still fine to use and hide the one end - my least favorite corner anyway. However, if you decide that you must have a spotless scarf, it is really possible to find again. I can assure you that I have seen it come up for sale SEVERAL times, with the last time being new with paper tags still on. I think it was maybe the spring of 2014 or 2015. I passed it up because it was $500 or so.

Thanks. I have been very successful with my baby powder trick in the past. But this was set in. I agree that this is my least favorite corner. I can live with it. I just wouldn't have paid top dollar had I known. I suppose I'm lucky this us the first time this has ever happened to me. But I'm glad I have it.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love to see a mod shot when you get a chance!

I saw this scarf listed and was tempted to bid too. I'm so sorry about the stains. How terrible and disappointing. Are these pics the before or after of you trying to get the spots out yourself? It is a very pretty color way though and practically never comes up for sale.

Thanks. This is the before. The after is much better. I'm just annoyed at being taken for 525, but it is a rare color so I'm happy to have it.

Oh good! I'm glad those r the before pics. I was worried those were the after pics. Yes, the price you paid is steep considering the condition. I would be pissed too. But Thanks for warning all of us about that seller. Very dishonest.

I think the seller should have refunded 20% or more , in her position I would have done. She would still be getting over retail .
I hate these sneaky sly sellers.A genuine mistake or overlook is understandable.
My last purchase was similar to yours but I wasn't crazy for the scarf so it went back .
The problem with having grails is that one is wide open to abuse.
Maybe you can keep looking until you find a pristine version and then sell that one ?

How airy and lovely !
I had never heard of Jamdhani so thank you for showing it to us , what a find.
I can't see any similarity with this and the Brazil Bandhini , is it the type of weave ?

So excited for you, arabesques, it found the perfect home with you! You wear these so beautifully. I'm remembering a pic of you wearing one with a pair of light colored, embroidered pants, gorgeous and ethereal! Would love to hear a bit more about them, and when they were released. I think you mentioned previously that they were made in India?

Baby Powder Trick? I do not know about this one...

Sorry about your fowl transaction. Something similar happened to me with Neige d'Antan: one or two stains were mentioned in the listing, but when I got it the christmas-y bias was full of food stains, very hard to hide. And pulled threads as well. It was obviously worn for Christmas dinner (or lunch). And because of all the things going on around the holidays I forgot to contact the seller. The stains were only faint after a nice bath in my sink and I got it way below retail...
