Love this what a great story. If you have girls now/ in the future will you continue the tradition? My OH thinks my 11 year old having a Michael Kors is extreme I don't think he'll let me take them to get LV!!
I don't want any children, but if I did then yes, I would continue the tradition (it gives me the willies thinking about what LV will want for a Speedy 10-15 years from now)

I made it through a divorce with 3 small kids, working a full time and s part time job, finally graduating nursing school and then just being able to breathe! I always loved bags and one day I realized I just decided to buy LV. I loved the Speedy but decided to get something that I didnt see often so I went with the Papillion 30. I didnt use it much because it didnt hold all of my daily stuff...
I bought my daughter a mono speedy 35 for her 18th birthday and she still caries it. Thst was 10 years ago. She let me borrow it a few times and last yesr, I bought my own.

I always was attracted by LV, not sure why, probably my asian genes, but back as a student I could not afford one.
At the end of my university, I saw that ad with Jennifer Lopes and the Deauville and I absolutely loved its feminine look, which exudes exotic travel. I had to somehow get my hands on that!

After finishing med school I saved up and found a well preserved preloved one which I still have.

I had wanted a vuitton bag ever since as I was 17/18 but couldn't afford one. I would work in the summer when i was a student and indulged in my first Chanel makeup purchases, drooling at the Vuitton bags I would see in the street. Vuitton has always been a very serious matter in France, you see.
Fast forward to 2006 when I lived in the US and was starting to win really good wages. I knew I was getting a LV bag but wasn't sure I would ever have the means to have another one in my life, probably because I was still pinching myself and couldn't believe I was in the position to own one in the first place. So I did my homework and decided I would be getting a classic. When my 25th birthday came, I took a cab to LV in Boston and asked to see the speedy mono 30. I was so uncomfortable and determined I didn't bother looking at other styles or anything (whereas now I make them take out everything in the store and stay there for two hours haha).

I still remember what I was wearing that day (shorts and flip flops, which doesn't make me proud). The bag is made in USA (and I am French and I was going back to France the month after) and I am actually very proud of that as it is a souvenir I really cherish (and I have never had quality issues or anything). I have always stored it really carefully and it hasn't even " patinaed" that much. I still carry it and will never ever sell it.

(The next month I went through the airport in Paris with all my bags and the speedy in my suitcase - the customs officer taxed me on it for some shady reason I can't remember as I was so excited to see my family after all the years, just sharing this anecdote for the girls here who may be as care free as I was back then).

It has almost been 10 years since I got my first LV bag – a DE Pochette.

I got it from my parents as a graduation gift, and I still have it today and use it daily.

My parents told me they wanted to give me something that I would use for a long time, and I had always loved LVs designs, so I fell in love with the Pochette.

My mom and I went to buy it a few weeks before the party and I felt like I was flying when I walked out of the store with that big, brown paperbag.

The first couple of years I only used it for going out or going shopping, but then I started to use it as a “bag-in-bag” and did so for a couple of years.

5 years ago I got pickpocketed from my bag (while wearing it) and my wallet and agenda got stolen (both LV), but not my pochette.

That made me scared to loose it, so I stopped using it at all for 2 years.

Now I’m back to using it as daily again, and I’m still so in love. I keep a gold chain inside for when using it to run errands during the workday, and I am planning to buy the ebene strap this year.

I've always loved handbags even as a teen. I remember ditching my Jansport backpack and having my school stuff inside patent tote bags instead in grade 9, and asking for Ralph Lauren bags in university. I got my first Coach soon after, and Coach bags to me were my ultimate priced possessions.

In Jan of 2008, my husband and I went on a trip to Macau, China and then to Hong Kong as our last stop. We went to Harbour City to do some shopping and just so happened to walk by the massive LV store. Stores like that back then intimidated me so I was very hesitant to step in. However my experience with the SA's was very pleasant, they were all so nice and accommodating. I must have blacked out, because next thing I knew, I was stepping out of the store with a DE Speedy 30. And that started my love affair with LV. I've branched out to Givenchy, Balenciaga and Fendi but I still keep coming back to LV because their bags are pretty timeless. I still have that first ever LV bag and will probably not part with it for sentimental reasons.

My first lv bag is not a great story. I grew up with lv, I never thought it was special (back then...teenager in high school). You see, at that age, I liked simple all leather bags that would fit my lifestyle going to school and maybe a weekend purse for hanging out with friends. Had to be a medium bag with a full zip top. I could be clumsy and had an bag that didn't zip all the way. I fell and so did my items. After that, I just steered clear from non full zip top bags. A family member got me an lv neo in epi black leather. I still remember complaining it was very small and she kept saying I will learn to love it as it is a louis vuitton. I did use it on formal ocassions, but not even on weekends. It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered it again and I am glad I never gave it away or threw it out. I did throw some lv items before and gave them away. Again, at this time, I did not know a lot about lv. I cringe when I remeber these horrible events.

I didn't get my first LV until I was about 30 years old. I too loved Jessica Simpson's LV Speedy bags and wanted one for a number of years. I eventually got a monogram Speedy 35, which I owned for a while, but sold because it was on the big side.

I got my first LV bag at the Bal Harbour LV in Miami when I was on a vacation. I recently went back to that mall and that LV store is no longer there, though they do have one in a department store.

I used to be all about monogram, but I now shy away from it because vachetta makes me nervous.

Now I mostly have a Damier Ebene collection, it's so much more carefree.

I'm with the above poster, wish the Neverfull was still $850. I purchased one in 2012 for around that price.
I just asked my mom to bring a Neverfull DE MM back from Paris, got it for around $900... what a steal with the Euro rate and VAT refund ! This will be my first LV purse : ) I'm so exited hah

It was so important to me to get a bag that not everyone and their momma was carrying instead of just getting what I really loved. I ended up getting a bag that I kinda sorta liked[emoji30]. I thought I'd grow to love it and I never did. Lesson learned, I should have gotten those cute practical bags that everyone else was carrying lol.

My husband surprised me with my first LV in Paris when he had just started working at his first big job. We were in Paris with a few of his friends for NYE and then after a full day of sightseeing I asked if we could go to a LV store just for fun and all the boys rolled their eyes but finally gave in. When we were in the store (my first time in a LV store) I was in awe of the beautiful pieces. All of a sudden my husband said why don't you pick one out. I couldn't believe it...it was a total surprise! I thought that the Palermo PM that I picked out would be my only LV piece but fast forward five years later and I have four bags and a few SLGs. Heading to a boutique on Saturday to pick out number five! We have made it a tradition to mark the milestones in our life with LV  His first job, my first job, a big promotion, our five year wedding anniversary and now a dream job offer!
