Finally!! After selling bunches of stuff on ebay since last December, I have saved enough for Speedy!! I got the 30 size in the Bandouliere option. And my modeling shot will verify that it does in fact, hold a bottle of wine. You could easily get 2 in there, but that would be heavy. Thank you everyone for you advice and feedback and laughs here. This is a fun group. Now for some pochette research and shopping....:D

Six years ago I purchased the Montorgueil PM. For me it was very similar to the Speedy but had the added advantage of a shoulder strap. It wasn't my first designer handbag purchase but it was by far the most significant. Since then I've been on a tear and recently took a collection shot so you can see for yourself what's happened in six years. (BTW I've sold and might I add, given away many bags.) I couldn't bring myself to really completely part with my Monty so I gave it my daughter but I stole it from her bedroom for the picture. This is also a cautionary tale for anyone considering their first designer bag purchase, step away from the LV, it's a slippery slope but one helluva ride.

I like that Apothic red! I'm considering a Speedy B 30. I bought and immediately sold a 25 as it was way too smal but I think the 30 may just do it. If it can hold a bottle of wine, then I think I'll be okay.

My first bag was the Verona MM in 2011. No rhyme or reason for that particular bag other than I thought it was lovely looking. Ever since then I've been hooked. I just ordered my 6th one which will hopefully be arriving this week.

I went round and round on the speedy sizes, and then maybe should i get a tote instead?? When i finally was headed to the store, i had visions of indecision... Pictured myself leaving with nothing because i couldn't decide. But wow, when i saw the speedy 30, i just knew. It was perfect and it's been exactly right, no regrets. Honestly it could hold 2 bottles, plus my stuff, but that would be really heavy.

I actually just got my first LV bag this weekend for my birthday. I've been purchasing the SLG's for the past 3 years just to get the feel and see how LV holds up. I also have been ready tons of forums and watching videos to see which bag was practical enough for my busy lifestyle. Well, not only did I purchase my first bag/wallet (a Pochette Felicie in Damier Ebene), but my boyfriends got me a tote bag as well (the Totally MM in Damier Ebene). I am so very excited to use them and now feel slightly addicted! I've already been searching online for my next purchase and it hasn't even been 48 hours.

My family and I went to Spain for holiday in 2009. I was 18. I knew back then that I wanted my first designer handbag (so this is not just my first lv bag but also my first designer handbag!) I asked my parents for it and promised them that I wont ask for anything anymore for the next 6 months (lol). Back then I didnt know what to get. It was my mom who decided for us to go and see LV. We went to the store and I looked around. And there she was. Batignolles Horizontal in Monogram. I fell in love with her. It was the perfect tote. I love the shape, I love the size, I love how you can unbuckle the belt to make it larger, I love everything about her. My parents bought it for me and I can't thank them enough.

Today I decided to part ways. As much as I love her and how full of memories she is, I don't want to see her just sitting on the shelf, inside her dustbag, unused. When I was preparing to send her to her new home, I just have to search this thread because I want to leave some memory of her here (lol, I'm melancholic like that). So good bye batignolles. You'll be missed.
