My first designer "bag" purchase was the Louis Vuitton signature Monogram Canvas Keepall 45. It was a vintage piece that was made in 1983, but despite its age it was in amazing condition. I was able to purchase it for $125 and I loved it, but the problem that I found was that I only used it three times in the period of time that I owned it. Another problem with my bag was that it was way too small and it looked like a oversized purse. Being a male, this was one attribute of the bag, that I did not prefer. I have since sold the bag for twice what I paid and I have upgraded to a Louis Vuitton signature Monogram Canvas Keepall 55 with the shoulder strap, which I was also able to purchase for $125. This bag is perfect for all of my needs and is great for a day trip or a week-long trip! This bag is perfect for all of my needs and I do not plan on replacing it for at least five to ten years.
As for whether I would purchase another Louis Vuitton bag, I am still undecided. I have grown bored of the signature Monogram Canvas print and their runway bags (both men's and unisex) I am less than enthusiastic about. If I am going to purchase another travel bag it would have to be a standard black nylon Prada duffle bag, vintage black Chanel caviar leather duffle bag, Goyard Croisiere bag, Hermes black Togo leather 50cm travel Birkin bag, Tod's pebbled leather weekender, YSL travel Muse, or oversized Balenciaga weekender bag. I have grown increasing less and less fond of monogram prints that labels such as Burberry, Coach, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton have on most of their bags. The primary exception to this rule is Goyard, as I, for some reason, am obsessed with Goyard's monogram print.
