Would you bring a high end bag to college classes?

I've carried a number of bags to campus. I don't live in the dorms, but when I did, I was in the nicest dorms available and there was no concern of theft at all, especially since I kept my door locked 24/7. I've carried a number of Louis Vuitton handbags to classes and have carried a few notebooks and a book or two in them and they worked great: Tulum GM, Vavin GM, Perforated Pink Musette, Cabas Piano, and even my Pink Large Chanel Cambon. And because I go to an engineering school and I'm actually fashion-conscious, I kinda stick out like a sore thumb, but actually in a good way. I get a lot of complements from guys on my handbags and my style... so I say go for it, but if you're too concerned about getting it dirty, don't bring it!! I like the LV monogram canvas because it's really durable and won't get hurt if it's banged around a little. I'm really rough with my LV Batignolles Horizontal and it's doing very very well!! I'm thinking about (probably going to get) a Black LV Multicolore Ursula for school, so I'm sure I'll end up using that most of the time!!

I would, as long as you aren't putting heavy books inside it that might break it! I remember some of those biology books were huge. NOT worth breaking a handbag for.

(I'm all about the priorities, you see. LOL)

I'm also a college student and I have a pretty big handbag collection. I would never carry an expensive bag to school though. They're worth a lot and I work hard to pay for them. When I'm at school, I don't want to worry about an expensive handbag. Besides, I have to place whatever bag I have on the floor. If I had an expensive bag, I'd look pretty stupid having to carry it on my lap during class or reserving a seat in front of me to place my bag on. I don't think anyone at school cares about what handbag the girl next to her has. Everyone is focused on learning.

Personally, I don't carry high end purses to classes for two reasons. First, most of them can never fit the books I need for classes. Since I am not into carrying both a purse and a backpack, I usually stuff my backpack with 2 textbooks, 5 notebooks, a laptop, and a water bottle. Sometimes I use my longchamp totes as school bags, but I only use them when I have a few classes a day and I really don't feel like dressing as a girl who is ready to climb Mt. Everest.

The second reason I don't bother to carry such a nice bag is because there is a bit of disdain for people using high end products in the academic world. Although I am not too worried about strangers regarding me as shallow or vain, I would want to avoid giving such an impression to my classmates or professors. I do want to be taken seriously by certain group of people, and I believe that I have responsibility to dress accordingly whether I agree with it or not.

Personally, I would be excited if I see somebody in class well-dressed with a nice purse, but at the same time, I wouldn't look down on her even if she was in her pajamas.

I do, but not to show off lol. It's only cos I have loads of notes to carry and the only bags I have that are huge enough are my LV Uzes, Chanel large cambon or Gucci large tote. But after putting all my stuff in the LV it becomes so heavy I feel like I'm lifting weights and the Chanel is too precious (what if I scratched it!) so I tend to use the Gucci.

I did it all the time. But be forewarned... people will look at you like ur insane for bringing such high end products into the classroom. I got into a wicked* argument with one of my closest guy friends over an MJ bag that was way over what he thought people should be spending on bags. He told me I was frivolous and so materialistic (this from a guy who spent at least 100+ on beer every weekend) Every time I wore the bag he gave me such a contemptuous look... I tried to ignore it but after a while I just started wearing lower end bags more frequently. I felt my school wasn't worth my gorgy bags. Do what u want but know ppl might judge u for it.

I do, sometimes. I've used a Coach zebra print gallery tote, Tokidoki zucca bag, and various Coach bags, along with my messenger from American Eagle and tote from Hollister. Designer bags, both fake and real are a very common sight at my college, as they were at my high school so I feel comfortable carrying them. My class schedule has never been very full, I usually only have 2 classes per day so I can carry a binder in my tote, or even in my hands, I rarely have to bring my textbooks because the professors that I've had don't use them at all. I also like carrying my real bags because I know that they look 10x better than those fakes that these girls got on Canal Street.

I do have friends that are in various financial situations that I've known for years, and I feel fine carrying my bags around them, because they know that I work hard to pay for them.

And someone said that it would be silly to "reserve" a seat for the bag, all of the girls at my school do that! Its actually normal to walk into a classroom and see girls sitting with their friends, with a seat between each with bags on them.

I do bring my high end bags to class. I use my LV Luco tote and I find that everything I need fits in that nicely. I am also looking into purchasing a new laptop so I will likely use my Batignolles horizontal for that. I was worried at first that they would get dirty but I am really careful and so far so good. As for getting dressed up for class I fall somewhere in the middle. I have never worn Pjs in public and never will. Most of the time I make an effort to dress nicely but once in a while I throw on jeans and a hoodie and go. I always wear make up though, it just makes me feel good to!
I say carry whatever bag you want/need to get through school!

Carrying your designer babies to school is a little overrated. Sometimes, sure, because you just feel like being fancy. But, what I do is I use the free bags that you get for buying fragrances and cosmetics to carry my school stuff. Like, Michael Kors had a gold one, and it's perfect to carry everything. This still says, "Hey, I have a sense of style but I'm smart too!"

You can carry your high-end bag to school if its functional like a large tote or messager and large enough to carry your books. I don't really care what other thinks, as long as I good grade and look good. I carry Gucci tote/diaper to class.

I didn't carry my designer bag in collage. Though I had only one LV at the time from my parent as a present. I just couldn't find a right time to carry it. It just didn't fit to my lifestyle back then. I started carrying the bag and collecting my other designer bags when I got a job and earned my money.

I use my mulberry bayswater for college - I recieved it as a birthday present for exactly that purpose. I do occassionally carry one of my other bags to uni when I get the chance (i.e. on lecture days, special guest days etc., whenever I don't have to carry books). BUT I never ever carry a certain bag to show off. That's sooooo ridiculous! I buy what I like and thus carry what I like, be it a low-end bag or an expensive designer one.

Yes I do take my Chloe to classes, but not often. I'd rather carry books and stuff in a cheaper and durable bag. I have a very nice tote I got from Zara for classes..
