The Chanel outlet at Woodbury Commons closed last year or the beginning of this year. I believe they still have the Gucci outlet. I haven't been there in years, but it's a great shopping experience and there are a ton of stores.....you should go!

hi everyone:))

I'm from Zurich, Switzerland and will be in NYC on Silvester for 5 days.
Anyone knows how the after christmas sales are in the city and at Woodbury ???

The last time I went, was in Spring 2011 but couldn't find any Chanel or Moncler store. Any updates? Thank you very much :))

Hey guys,

I'm going to NYC for the very first time the first week of December. I've always heard about the Woodbury Commons Outlets and how they have Chanel, Dior, Gucci and many other premier designer stores there. I found a bus tour that would take me there, but would last most of the day. So my question is would it be worth my time to spend an entire day there? It's not like I can't afford to shop at the regular non-outlet stores I just love a bargain, but saving only a couple hundred bucks isn't considered a bargain to me and I'm not a label whore so even if something is Chanel if it's ugly then I'm not buying it. I just don't want to show up all excited and everything be hideous and still expensive and waste a whole day. Thanks!

Hi, I know exactly what you mean. But as you say you love a good bargain, you should really consider going!! I was there in Spring this year and only spent one day. I thought it wasn't enough. I live in Switzerland but I particularly fly to the US for Woodbury..& of course NYC in winter..But Woodbury is really worth it!!!:smile1:

I've had good luck at Woodbury with my 20 something kids on our two visits. An Alexander McQueen suit for him from Barneys one time and a Burberry suit another. A Lanvin bag for her for $500 one time, plus lots of fun shoes & boots both times - Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Manolo, etc. at Neiman Marcus.

I even saw the holy grail at Neimans! A pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps, in perfect condition, but they were not in my daughter's size. I think they were priced at about $250. Some lucky lady who wears a size 7 got them. How they ended up there is anybody's guess.

I like Woodbury, but have to agree the Chanel shop was disappointing. I'm not surprised it has closed. We didn't see a single thing we'd take, even for a gift, and there was precious little in it anyway. Pretty empty. Chloe had nice prices on bags, Gucci was lots of fun with all sorts of odds and ends, sizes were hit or miss though. Bottega Veneta has lovely stuff with good prices. I think Prada did too, but can't remember. Ferragamo, too had some nice things. Again, not every style and size in their shoes - might have the open toe but not closed toe in a certain style, and sometimes only one of something in clothing, but excellent fun hunting through everything, both men's and women's. Cole Hann had a good selection and good prices.

Burberry seemed to be mostly filled with things made just for its outlet stores, and made differently from what their regular stores carry, but there were some nicer things also. Buyer beware, I'd say. Probably that's true across the board as quite a few things in the higher end stores fit oddly, so I think ended up there because of it. Valentino tuxedos come to mind. But there were far more really nice things everywhere. Just poking through the better stores was fun.

Like all outlets, Woodbury is full of ordinary stores with masses of made for outlet stuff, but others have real finds if you look, especially the upscale ones. And, that's the fun of going! Be sure to sign up at the Woodbury Commons website for its VIP club to get any discounts it might be offering. We saved hundreds on each of our trips.

Hi guys,
In Woodbury Commons its either a hit or miss! Sometimes you can get really lucky or you can leave empty handed. Today I was lucky to pick up some great cardigans at great prices at Missoni. I also got some great shoes from Neiman Marcus so today I left a happy camper.

I bought a cardigan at missoni too when i went last week! It was a great price. I think it was originally 500 something and I got it for $69.

I was there last weekend and had a great time.

Giuseppe Zanotti had a sample sale, buy one for $99 get second for $49. The selection was pretty limited and obviously from past seasons but how often do you see these prices. Escada, Max Mara had racks of 80% and Chloe had 90% off. See by Chloe bags were $300 and under. Coach always gives out those extra 30% off cards that stack nicely with items that are half off. Jimmy Choo had shoes up to 65% off although the sizes were limited.

Gucci, Prada, Dior, etc weren't that great. I've seen better prices during department store sales or online.

I didn't have time to check out Last Call or Barneys but they're definitely on my list for next time. The biggest sales of the year will be during Black Friday weekend. If you're not scared of crowds it might be a good time to go. Like sunnyflies pointed out their website is a good source of up to date info and VIP club is free and lets you print out coupons.

If you're taking the bus from Port Authority you can save $10 by buying the ticket in person without the VIP booklet. If you registered on the website you can print out a coupon for that same booklet for free.

My friend and I went to WC last year the weekend before Thanksgiving. We were originally scheduled to go for Black Friday, but got scared and changed our plans :). Most of the stores gave us the Thanksgiving discount when we asked. In YSL, for example, I bought a pair of shoes and when I asked about what the Black Friday special would be, the sales associate gave me an extra 50% off. It never hurts to ask! So for those of you afraid of the Black Friday crowds, go a few days before!

Im from Brazil and it will be my first time in Woodbury outlet. Im thinking about going on the midnight madness, but im not sure yet. I want to buy a Prada or Gucci handbag with a good price.. where can i find one? If i go in the midnight, can i find good handbags?
Thanks.

I was told by both Gucci and Prada employees that they are not having any special sales for Black Friday. They had some handbags marked 10-30% off and said thats as low as its ever going to get. I would avoid the midnight madness and just go a few days before. No sense in fighting the crowds not to mention there'll probably be a 2+ hour long line for the return bus.
