So.... what's the update?!

How many of you ladies have this jacket or have it on its way to you?!

1. Rachey07
2. LG (the black one?)
3. delmilano?

Any others? Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread but am dying to see who's mod shots of this jacket I should be on the lookout for.

I just realized it says this:

Sales Tax

Balenciaga charges state, local and county taxes on online transactions, as required by applicable laws.
Please note that your on-screen transaction total reflects estimated tax. The actual sales tax will be calculated when your order is shipped and may vary from the estimated tax in case of law change

Does this mean I will be charged more? It said no tax: $0.00 on my checkout. What does this mean? I thought since I don't have a Bal store in my state, then I wouldn't pay tax, is this correct?

Anyone know about this? I'm kinda nervous about it. Also, has anyone ever been through the return process at Bal.com?

What they mean is that they will charge you the sales tax applicable to your state. So whatever your state tax is then expect that to be added on to the $2595. I just did a quick check and apparently your state sales tax is 2.9% (lucky girl - we in Ontario pay 13%). You will be charged $2595 plus $75.26 for a grand total of 2670.26 plus shipping. I never returned anything to Bal.com so I can't help you with that.

I actually read on another thread (and thought this too), that they'll only charge state taxes to the states that have a Bal store. I think that if you're in a state without a store, there's no tax. I hope that's right....anyone else know anything abot this?

Senka, have you ever ordered from Bal.com?

Hi, No I have not ordered from them. I am located in Canada and they do not ship here - unfortunately. They are required by law to charge sales tax for the state they are shipping to even if they don't have a store located in that state. I believe that if you had an actual store ship to you out of state that then you are not charged the sales tax. I could be wrong on that as well because I once purchased a Chanel handbag from another province and they still charged me the sales tax applicable to my province. I ordered my jacket directly from BalNY and they shipped it to me with UPS.

RACHEY07, I just ordered my Black Stardust GGH from bal.com, and as I was checking out, they actually quoted sales tax on my purchase in addition to the bag cost. So if they don't quote it for you by the time you checked out, I think you're probably not going to get charged sales tax (LUCKY!!!!!).

I used to order from BalNY and never get charged sales tax though... I guess they have different rules now *sigh*

Oh and they did take a few days to finally charge my card (I think I placed my order on a Saturday or something silly like that :p), but as soon as they do, they'll send you a UPS tracking information to your email so you can start obsess-tracking :graucho:

BTW CONGRATS!!!! I'm SUPER jealous!:yahoo:Keep us updated!

RERE i'm still on the decision making process, got one on hold for me, khaki, but as LG said, there are some marks on the leather, the one i have on hold isn't that bad, but there are a few faint scratch marks on the leather, all the lighter colors have this kind of thing. i prefer khaki to navy, i'll have to make my decision next week.
To go with khaki which looks ab fab or wait until next season and get a black one. with no scratches.

Anyone still interested in the leather jacket, Departement Feminin has both the black and navy version available in various sizes on their website: http://www.departementfeminin.com

They have great service and ship worldwide. Good luck! If you're using the English version of the site, beware that they'll give you US sizing, so check their sizing chart or use the French site first.

P.S. I've also found that the best bet for finding something that's hard to find is to check out multi-brand boutiques. Flagships and department stores are usually the first to sell out of must-have items. The boutiques in Paris still have plenty of leather jackets left, but unfortunately they don't ship internationally.

Rachey, you will NOT be charged sales tax.

Thank you, dear! I have just sent them an e-mail - love their website. They have lovely things!
