LG, I had a similar experience a couple of years ago when I bought the earlier version of the black jacket. I loved it so much I ordered a brown one from Barneys. I was shocked when it arrived. It was very scuffed and distressed and had marks all over. The SA assured me it was the way it was supposed to look, and BALNY said the same. I just didn't like it. It changed the whole character of the jacket. I think a really dark color or maybe the ivory would most likely avoid the problem.
^^^I really hate when they give you this stupid answer! Of course it's not the way it's supposed to look!!! Why can't they just apologize and try to get you another one??? This happened to me back in 2007 with a black work that turned green in a matter of days!!! These are not cheap items!!! THey should be perfect or almost perfect!!!

Anyway, I am sorry this happened to you lovelygarments! You should definitely try to get the navy one! It's beyond amazing, and I wish I could get it, but that's not gonna happen! But seriously, did you see the thread of the French girl who has the navy??? It's gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous...

Also Andy, I love your pic!!!! Soooo cute!!!
ats-you look great!!!! And I noticed how the sleeves are really perfect on you! But then again, you're 5'8"... Ohhh, why do I have to be soooo short???

I saw this beautiful jacket in Printemps and even though I really liked the jacket, all the 2 I checked were INCREDIBLY scuffed! The beige one had lots of marks as well!
I thinnk that Navy and Black are the ones that scratch the less (then again, mine had a couple, but nothing like THAT, of course)!
I think that for the price it is, it must be perfect or almost! So, definitely change! It'll bother you much, you'll see

BTW, I REEEALY like how the black one looks on you, GORGEOUS!!!

Would size 36 work for me? I think I'm about a size 2. I have Rick Owens leather jacket size 40 and Stella McCartney denim jacket size 36.

Does anyone know where I can find a black one size 36? Thanks.

I am a size 00/0 (5'4" and 108 lbs) and I need a 38 to be able to zip up and move around even with just a short sleeve tee. The body is cut very slim and it's padded inside, so if you do not intend to zip up, you can get the 38. Otherwise, a 40 will be a safer choice for anything thicker underneath.

O.K., just opened the box from Barney's and I'm confused (and upset) - I hope someone can help me with this. There are scratches all over the jacket - like fingernail scratches. I just took photos - let me edit them, and I'll post so you can see. Are they going to say this is natural distressing? Is that what you would expect to see? Has anyone seen this olive/khaki kind of color IRL anywhere besides the one shown in another thread at Bergdorf's - because that one is all scratched up too.

Be back in a couple of minutes with photos.

i am totally with you on this Kay. the grey i had was the worst & i swear, if you even looked at it the wrong way it scored! but yes, this is the way they're meant to look, personally i'm way to OCD to deal with this leather which is why i always recommend getting the black or the navy. it's a gorgeous leather jkt but IMHO way nicer & much less maint in the darker colors.

here are some shopping pix i took for another Tpfr............

^^^I was about to say that!!! I contacted them about 2-3 weeks ago and they had none left! Jerevka told me they had it and I emailed them right away with no luck. THey said they only had beige at the moment.
BTW, Jerevka, you're the beautiful French girl with the gorgeous navy jacket I was talking about!
initialed- I posted this on the other thread:
Try calling Nordstrom (Houston Galleria). They had 2 black ones. Sizes 36 and 38. This was about 2-3 weeks ago, but maybe they still have them. Good luck!

BTW, the sales lady that helped me tried on the 36 and it look beautiful on her. She was a size 2.

Hi Viki - I just returned from the Pack-N-Ship place, and it cost me $65.00 to ship it back. Money well spent to return a jacket that really left me cold. It is nothing like my beautiful black jacket.

I'm sorry that you have a gray jacket that has the same "scuffing" type of problems. The only way that I would buy a light color jacket like that again is if I could buy it at a deep discount, and I could apply leather conditioner to it to see if I could even out the color.

I'll continue to look for the deep navy blue jacket - Jerevka's is so beautiful! If I don't find one, then there is always next year. :)

Thank you, Viki, for giving me your perspective on this. :)

i am about to give in too rachey, what color did you get?

I ordered the black in 38 from the Bal website....still haven't been charged or heard anything. We'll see what happens!

If it doesn't fit me I'm going to cry! I didn't have to pay shipping or tax and paying to ship it back will be a pain!

Has anyone ever gone through the return process at Bal.com?

I just realized it says this:

Sales Tax

Balenciaga charges state, local and county taxes on online transactions, as required by applicable laws.
Please note that your on-screen transaction total reflects estimated tax. The actual sales tax will be calculated when your order is shipped and may vary from the estimated tax in case of law change

Does this mean I will be charged more? It said no tax: $0.00 on my checkout. What does this mean? I thought since I don't have a Bal store in my state, then I wouldn't pay tax, is this correct?
