Hi delmilano, thank you for your answer. I am not sure I can love this khaki/olive color with the scuff/scratch marks. Has anyone seen a navy anywhere? Or a brown? Size 40.

I will sleep on this tonight, but I am almost certain this is going back to Barney's.

I welcome everyone's honest opinion on the jacket. :)

I'm SO sorry for this. I think you should return it.
As much as I too am really wanting this jacket, this is unacceptable.
It is alot of money and furthermore I think if you are unsure now, you won't be happy with it in the long run.
They will come back next season and you can get one that is perfect...which is what I plan to do!

Here are a few pics of my jacket. I'm so in love.

ATS, congratulations on your jacket! Be sure to post your photos in the Moto Club section!

Handbag Angel, that is the way it came - all scuffed and it looks like fingernail scratches on it. :(

It is going back tomorrow. I'll package it up, and send it back. I am very disappointed. But I'm happy I was able to buy my black jacket.

It is very sweet of you to share more info, thank you ats16! :flowers: I'm a 6 or 8 do you suppose the 40 is best for me or should I go for 42? Please ladies, chime in on the size you got and how it fits with your measurements, perhaps it will help save others of us some shipping time and cost! ;)

Thank you, mntncat, and I don't mind at all! I am normally a US size 10 or 12, and I got the jacket in size 44. As mentioned by others, it's a bit too tight to comfortably zip, but I love it unzipped, and otherwise it's perfect. :smile1:

Lovelygarmets you are doing the right thing to send it back. I am so glad that your black one was perfect and beautiful!
Thank you, Patti35jewel. And thanks everyone else for weighing in on this. I don't feel like I'm crazy now. I don't think fingernail scratches and scuffs = distressing, and this jacket just looks plain old "shopworn" to me. It has been handled roughly and looks awful. :(

So back it goes tomorrow.

I'll save you the trouble of reading through everthing. I also am a 6/8 and decided on a 40 which they are out of in black.

LG, I had a similar experience a couple of years ago when I bought the earlier version of the black jacket. I loved it so much I ordered a brown one from Barneys. I was shocked when it arrived. It was very scuffed and distressed and had marks all over. The SA assured me it was the way it was supposed to look, and BALNY said the same. I just didn't like it. It changed the whole character of the jacket. I think a really dark color or maybe the ivory would most likely avoid the problem.

I am sorry this happened to you but I would send it back.

The jacket looks great on you congratulations! By the sleeve length I would assume you are close to my height (6'1). Never mind I just read your second post - oops - okay you're not exactly my height:)

I'm quite torn between the 40 and the 42 myself. I'd go with the 40 since people have suggested getting 1 to 2 size smaller but then I should go with the 42 since I read that this jacket runs small. Confusion...
I wish you luck finding the 40!! :D Can't wait to see your photos here!!
