Why do you take your jewelry off when you get home?

I take jewelry off a lot the time...to put in the ultrasonic cleaner, or to avoid lotions. Unfortunately, I've lost several pieces this way, including my first gold wedding band and a diamond eternity band.

It's hard because I cannot stand dirty jewelry (what's the point of wearing it, if it's flithy and dull?) OTOH, I lost my 1ct round brilliant pendant a couple of weeks ago...probably in a paper towel drying it after cleaning. I was distracted by my children & I'm sure I threw it away by mistake. :crybaby: Dh was beyond irritated.

I just don't know:sad:...maybe it's better to keep the pieces on all of the time after all.

When I get home I take off my watch, and the 2 rings I wear as well as my charm bracelet.
I have to revise/ work on the comp etc so all my jewelry bangs around etc.

I take my necklace off when I go to bed but I leave my pearl studs in x

i'm starting to take off my rings before i shower, its annoying cleaning the diamonds and small small areas in the band. I don't want to scratch up my rubies either. =( i normally just toothbrush my solitaire and call it a day

The minute I come home I take off my watch, rings & bracelets, don't ask me why, I just don't feel comfortable with them at home but they never bother me when out! Weird!
Earrings don't bother me I can wear the same ones for days as long as not huge ones!

Im exactly the same. If im wearing studs or a necklace I will keep that on though until I have a bath or change. But as soon as I come home the watch and whatever else im wearing must come off. It could also be because im slightly OCD and will immediately wash my hands when i get home too so I dont want to get my watch wet etc. Its just more comfortable.

I don't wear a watch... just small pendant, studs, diamond band. I never take any of it off except the studs - can't sleep with earring backs stabbing me in the head. I go in spurts - wearing the same necklace for a couple months, and then switching to a different one for the next few.

I leave my earrings in, they are usually small hoops or studs so they do not get in the way. If I am wearing my cross or tennis bracelet, they stay on as well.

I always leave my wedding ring, e-ring and anniversary ring on, even when I sleep...I have been wearing my wedding set for so long that I feel weird without them on!

Take it off???!!! I add more!!!!

I love my jewelry! Sometimes I'll put on more when I get home. At the moment, I'm wearing two different earrings -- testing them out for comfort and seeing which ones will go with a dress I've got for an evening out.

I use the evenings to test out different combinations that I might want to wear to work or with a different outfit to see if they are comfortable...

Take it off??? I say Pile it ON!

Everything comes off. Wedding rings, watch, necklace, earrings, sometimes a bracelet. The only jewelry that stays on all the time are my diamond studs that are in the upper piercing of my double pierced ears. I never change them so there's no reason to take them out.

After that, the work clothes come off and the sweats go on. Heaven!

:roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao: I love that idea.

I don't take my jewelry off immediately when I get home, but I take it off before I bathe and put on my nightgown. The only thing I never take off, except occasionally to clean, are my huggy earrings.

As soon as i get home from work or wherever . i take off my wedding rings, watch and bracelets to cook . And i also do take of my earrings i dont know why but i feel more comfortable taking them off when i get home.

On an everyday basis, I usually only wear my wedding band and a small pair of earrings. My wedding band stays on all the time, unless I'm showering, cooking, cleaning, or washing/lotioning my hands. I sleep in it as well. I just don't feel comfortable without it on. I feel like an appendage is missing!

My earrings, I take off as soon as I get home, because 1) they look silly with PJs, and 2) I'm not comfortable sleeping in earrings. I never have been able to do that.
