I often get the "you got another one" and "how much did you spend on that?" I don't know how to respond to that.
I'm not sure what they say when I'm not there but I guess it's better that I don't know.

One word..
Jealousy.

That's it. People want what they don't have or they see that you have it and think it's "stupid" for someone to be carrying around a purse that costs a month of some people's mortgage.

I really hate this too. I sometimes won't carry my LV to work because I don't want to get starred at or made fun of (why they would poke fun, I have no idea) .

Yes unfortunately people attack my LVs all the time. I live in a city where we don't even have an LV and mostly people carry Coach/Vera Bradley. Very very rarely I'll see a (real) regular mono LV. So this usually makes my bags stand out and causes some unwanted comments such as "how could you spend so much money on a purse?".

It used to bother me and I'd be self-conscious about carrying my bags but now I've learned to just say whatever. I don't have to answer to anyone as to why I wear my bags. I mean honestly, I don't go around asking people why they spent so much on a 3,000 dollar TV, why should they care what my purse cost?

^Yeah that's what I think is dumb...people make fun of spending money on purses, but I guess that means spending obscene amounts on electronics or shoes or whatever else they may buy is ok?
One thing I can't stand is hypocrisy.

This is a good thread.

Last week my coworkers asked me again how I could spend my money on a bag.
I looked at their starbucks and said, you enjoy starbucks every morning yeah? well calculate how much you spend on coffee in the morning ($2-3) and then multiply that by 365 days a year, that comes out to roughly $730 - $1095) that's 1 or 2 bags, at least after we spent out money, we have an investment in our hands, unlike their coffee that they drink and then @#$# out hahaahahahah

Sounds like you've been around a bunch of immature, jealous haters.
Just smile and carry your LV with pride. It's THEIR problem, not yours !!

I had one lady at work ask me why I would spend so much money on a purse in one shot and then proceeded to tell me that she spent $5,700 on living room furniture. I asked her what the difference was and she said well "I can use the furniture" um hello I use my purse too

I don't think I've ever really felt offended or self conscious when I was around people who hated on my LV or other designer bags. It's my bag, I love it, and it's my business as to how I spend my money...
