Not this style. The big holes and no front zipper bothers me although I also like the clean look of it. For me I will get excited if Balenciaga will give us the option of getting some kind of personalized button hardwares/whatever to fill up those holes. I would love to get one with a round gold/silver metal with some lovely color in the middle. JMO

Okey-dokey, saw the bag IRL at the Balenciaga boutique in LA. So, let me just say that there was one that was a Weekender size which had the most SPECTACULAR leather EVAH!!!!! It was more grained than I expected, so soft and smooshy .. it was truly beautiful. The Small City did not have the same leather; it was smoother and tougher, can't say I was a fan of that leather. So, given that I've now seen the bag, I like it .. as long as it has the grained type of leather. Will wait until they get some more bags in!

I love this. Totally my style. I just have to decide between burgundy and black, small city and city.
I am not so happy with the edge coating though. There is a lot of it, I am pretty sure it will crack and it even looks not perfectly crafted. :confused1:

oh, then, I need to see the Weekender IRL, too!!
Did you feel that leather on the mini was not typical for BalBags??

^^ definitely *ksuromax*; I did not like the leather on the Small City bag .. but that WE size was just spectacular. So, I'm waiting until they get some of the newer bags in so that I can do another "IRL" viewing!!

Great! At least they leave us some hope, that the really good leather will be still available
here in Dubai store they only had 2 small ones, so i had no luck with WE, but in any case, totally no hardware is a pass for me.
I really doubt any new option can cast a shadow on my 2007 siena WE :) hehehe

Thanks for the additional pictures eper. I was curious about the handles since they are attached on the inside. To be honest after seeing how they are attached it really makes me question how long it will hold up especially if you carry a lot of stuff around. ITA about the edge coating, it will most likely crack I've only had one bag with edge coating that hasn't cracked *knocks on wood*.

It looks...cheap. Like, one of those things that will fly so low under the radar that only other obsessives for the brand will know or care. And other people will think you're carrying something inexpensive if perfectly acceptable.
I'm not saying I like Balenciaga because it's noticeable. If anything, I like that most people have zero idea about it. But the bag, the older bags, still have something SPECIAL about them. That makes them stand out.
This bag...I'm sorry but it looks like Marshall's or Nordstrom's Rack to me. There's no finesse. Nothing about the leather that "pops". And the lack of studs or braiding is fine. But the outline "shadow" isn't special. It just looks...serviceable. it doesn't inspire desire.

The handles are almost exact to my Riva bag, and I've had zero issues with those (then again, I use the shoulder strap). BTW .. these bags come with a cross-body strap, so there is an option to not have to utilize the handles .. just thought I would let you know.

Thanks for posting CeeJay...I think it's interesting....I like the minimalist aspect of it but something about it makes me "eh"...my experience is that with certain changes to bags & new styles, my eyes take time to accept & appreciate them. So many times I dislike bags when they first come out but then, BAM, before I know it I'm intrigued, & then in love with it....so I never say never:smile:

Totally agree!
I saw this range yesterday and I do think it could be a slow burn (or fast!) SA told me that they're made in the same factory as Hermes..?
However, my next Bal definitely has to be the Small City - nicest bag in the boutique IMO.

pixiejenna~oh my gosh, thank you for pointing out the handles are attached inside! I did not even notice that with the first few pic posts. That is certainly another interesting aspect of this new line.
Indiana~thanks & I agree back with you! Often times new designs are a "slow burn" before they become wildly popular. Or it could totally flop; who knows! My point earlier was that in my humble experience, I've often had quiet a negative/blah reaction to a bag but then somewhere along the line it slowly starts creeping into my brain that it's interesting or unique & before I know it, I want it & love it. That's how it happened for me with Celine Luggage bags. Luxury designers change things up like Bal is doing w/ this line to keep the brand moving forward/cutting edge & also to try & capture new customers to the brand, so I appreciate what Bal is doing with this line. (p.s.~beautiful dog & color of his/hair coat in your avatar!)
@Eper ~ oh & many thanks eper for your pics!!!

Honestly i don't like it at all!! Definitely not my style. The thing that i love the most of Balenciaga is the leather/hardware combo, but if you take off all the hardware in my opinion it misses the "x factor" that makes my heart skip a beat.
Plus the leather is not any good either, on the small city
I've been at the boutique today, seen it again, now it's displayed, and for the week past it has acquired wrinkles and creases, and they don't flatter the bag at all. They look the same as do creases on the shoes at the bending point, right below the toes.
Vibrato looks cosmic, blue, black or red, 3 options are available in small or normal city size, one is better than the other!
